Penny is currently an outside cat that lives in our barn and roams our property. However, she wants to be an inside cat. She is very affectionate. Loves to be held and purrs up a storm. She lives with two other cats. We adopted her several years ago. We are going to go RVing full-time and cannot take Penny with us. We are trying to find her a loving home where she can be a companion, inside pet to someone. We are uncertain of her age, but believe she is under 10 yrs.

Story
Sterling is a sweet and loving cat. Not only is he beautiful with his creamy apricot color, but those blue eyes are mesmerizing. He is used to being a barn cat, where he sleeps at night, and roams the yard during the day. He is a good hunter. He could easily adapt to being an inside cat (who may want to go out at times). He loves to be petted & held. He likes his treats, too. Sterling came to us on his own. He was a stray that found his way to us. We decided to keep him and got him neutered. He's been with us for the past 4-5 years. We are going to be RVing over the next couple of years and cannot take him with us. We are looking to find a loving home for Sterling.

We got Lily as a kitten. She has always been a barn cat, and prefers little interaction with people. She will come, when she feels like it to get attention. She currently lives in our barn and is out during the day, where she usually hides away in our woods until night time. She would make a great barn cat for someone. She's not mean, just standoffish.

Everest is a very friendly boy. He is a good Indoor companion cat. He will love you petting his silky smooth hair and scratching his back. He is used to other pets in the home. Enjoys the attention of children and toddlers. And likes spending his evening hanging out on the couch with my husband and I. We have had him for a year and a half. Everest has been one of the sweetest cats we have known. We are currently remodeling and it has put him under stress and causing him to mark his territory. We are very sad to rehome him but he needs a calmer environment. Everest is about 4 years old. He is deaf, but it was never an issue with us. If you know cats they only come when they want to anyways haha. He has recently had a vet check up and is in great health.

Do you have a soft spot for senior cats? If so, seven year old Pigeon may be purrfect for you! She was transferred to ARF at the end of February 2024. She came to us from an overcrowded shelter facility. Since arriving at ARF, she has been spayed and is now ready for someone who will show her all that love and human companionship has to offer. While she is technically a senior, our volunteers would venture to say that age seven is more commensurate with mid-life, rather than twilight years. Regardless, we are firm believers that cats of all ages deserve to know the love of a family. Please come meet her. The shelter is open Tuesdays through Fridays 3:30-6:30pm AND Saturdays & Sundays 1pm-4pm. No appointments are needed during those times. If you are not available during those times, special arrangements for a meet and greet may be able to be arranged by emailing arfcats@bereaanimalrescue.com. Draco was surrendered for adoption in mid-March 2024. Upon intake, he needed treatment for ear mites. He was also treated for nasal discharge connected to a bacterial infection. He is now ready for a forever home. Draco is the Latin word for dragon and if you look through his photos, you'll see the silly photo of him showing off his fangs just as a dragon would! He is a curious guy and he enjoys playing with wand toys. However, he is not a fan of dogs and therefore needs a home without any canine residents. If you are interested in meeting this handsome green-eyed 2 year with some of the longest whiskers, please come by the shelter to meet him.
