Story
Meet sweet ASTORIA, a long-haired solid black cat with a bit of a wonky right eye that makes it look like she’s squinting at you.  It just makes her stand out in her uniqueness.  Astoria is the perfect cat for someone looking for an easy-going companion, in a quiet home.  She hit a bit of a rough patch, and was surrendered to the rescue after her owner could no longer care for her and is need of a calm, loving home to call her own again.  She is independent and low maintenance.  She likes looking out the window and perching someplace high for a nap.  She also enjoys bumping up against people’s legs to get cuddles and pets.  She starts out timid but warms up fairly quickly.  She has a special eye that does get crusty occasionally and will need to be wiped, but she doesn’t let that slow her down.  Astoria is an exceptionally rewarding cat to get to know and love, and would be a wonderful addition to the right home! Astoria has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners.  To meet Astoria in foster care, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at PetSmart. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 business days for a possible meet and greet. The $100 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. For more information, send an email to AdoptInfo@CatRescues.org or call 541-225-4955 option 1.  ID 1905-C0131R ASTORIA DOB 4/23/2019 (est) BEST AS AN ONLY CAT AFRAID OF DOGS QUIET HOME, WITH NO YOUNG KIDS ** HOME VISIT REQUIRED PRIOR TO APPROVAL **February 11, 2025, 6:08 pm

Story
SASHA is a fluffy, solid black female adult kitty with eyes that are sometimes golden or sometimes green, depending upon her mood. She is a special girl, very enchanting with a personality that is made up of both sugar and spice. She is known for both her independence and her charm. She will demand your attention, but you must know that she would be best suited in a home as an only cat, no small children, and with someone who is very familiar with cats and who knows how to read their behaviors. The Sugar/Charming Sasha: She can be a VERY affectionate cat that loves to lay in your lap while being petted. She will follow you around while rubbing against your legs asking you to pet her. She loves to climb up to higher spaces while watching you. Once you have earned her trust, she will give you head bumps and rubs as well as purring. She loves to play and chase toys that you toss to her. The Spicy/Sassy Sasha: During her adaptation to new places and people, she can display body language and behaviors that warrant allowing this girl her own space. Slow deliberate movements so that you don't startle her, are very helpful. If you are well-versed in cat language you will realize this and allow her the space she needs. It will take a while (probably a couple of months) for her to come out of her shell on her own terms. Sasha was a bottle baby who was about 3 months old when first adopted. She was returned after five years—we think that she did not like having small children around, nor did she like the other cat in the house. [When she was a kitten, she had no other cats to show her the ropes.] Sasha is a very special cat who will reward a patient adopter with incredible love and affection, once she has acclimated and bonded to her new human. SASHA has been spayed, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet SASHA in foster care, please submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at Petsmart. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 business days for a possible meet and greet. The $100 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Story
YIN (female) and YANG (male) are a bonded pair of adorable black and white tuxedo young adult kitties with the cutest pink noses. Yin is a friendly and cuddly kitty who loves to play, especially with a feather wand, balls, or tumbling around with Yang.  She will quickly accompany you on the couch or the bed for pets and snuggles. She is quick to open up to people, and is fiercely protective of her brother. Yang is a sweet but more timid kitty who loves to chase his sister around the house and is very dependent on her. He is the first to remind you that it’s mealtime! Yang loves to lay on top of his sister and then they groom each other. YANG has sebaceous gland dysplasia which means his body doesn't make enough of the oils to coat his fur and skin. As a result, his hair is thin and discolored, particularly on his feet and around his nose and mouth. This doesn’t affect his health or personality at all—his condition is stable, and does not require any ongoing care.  His imperfect looks are very endearing. Yin and Yang are the cutest couple with the most precious bond. They will warm your heart and make you laugh They have been altered, vaccinated, microchipped, are negative for FeLV and FIV, and include a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet YIN and YANG in foster care, please fill out an Adoption Application for consideration at catrescues.org/adopt, and an adoption counselor will contact you in 3 to 5 days for a possible meet-and-greet. The $225 adoption fee for the pair allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Story
******SPECIAL NEEDS KITTY******  BENNY LEW is a gentle grey and white tuxedo special needs male cat looking for a loving and caring forever home. He’s a playful couch potato who enjoys playing with a dangling toy then snuggling up to a window to watch birds and rest. He loves to play with his springs and catnip mice. Benny Lew is very "food" motivated. He gets along OK with most of  his fellow foster cats, but would do best as an only cat. Benny Lew is considered a special needs cat due to having diabetes, which seems to wax and wane (he is currently on insulin 2X a day).  He will also need to be on a special diet for his lifetime. Although he is considered an older adult cat, Benny Lew will be a loving companion for many years to come. He was surrendered to our rescue and we’ve been delighted to see his personality blossom. Benny Lew’s cool and playful demeanor will make him the perfect house cat for your home. Please consider giving Benny Lew a forever home today!  Benny Lew has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet Benny Lew in foster, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store. Story
Beautiful FERB and PHINEAS are a wonderful pair of young brothers. Fashionable FERB is a black and white tuxedo with an adorable face. He's a little shy at first, but once he warms up, he will roll over for belly rubs and he'll push his sweet face into your hands for head rubs. PHINEAS is a stunning, sleek black panther who will quickly let you know what a party boy he really is! He loves to follow his foster mom around the house, squeaking for attention and treats!  These boys love to catch stringy toys, climb on the cat tree, and romp around the house with each other—then when they’re worn out, they cuddle up together at nap time.  They have been living in a loving foster home with other cats and friendly dogs.  These sweet boys have fun personalities, and would prefer a calm home where they can relax and enjoy their forever people. Ferb and Phineas have been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, are negative for FeLV and FIV, and include a free wellness visit with our vet partners.
