Story
Meet Chip! Chip is a bright, happy-go-lucky pup around 2–3 years old, and he’s ready to find his forever family! This friendly boy gets along wonderfully with dogs and cats, and he has also lived with small children in a previous foster home, where he did great. Chip is a smart cookie who already knows basic commands like sit, shake, and up. He’s kennel trained, making daily routines and downtime a breeze. Playtime is his favorite — whether it’s fetch in the backyard or zooming around on sunny days, Chip could play fetch for hours! But don’t let his playful side fool you — when it’s time to relax, Chip is more than happy to be a snuggly cuddlebug. On leash, he does well and just needs a little more practice to become the perfect walking companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, adaptable, fun-loving dog who will bring joy and laughter to your home every day, Chip is your guy. One meeting is all it takes — you’ll fall in love! To meet Chip, please fill out an adoption application: https://www.pawsofloverescue.com/adoption-application Adoption donation includes: Spay/neuter Microchip Deworming DHPP vaccinations Rabies vaccination Bordetella (nasal) Any other necessary procedures prior to adoption Dallas / Fort Worth area Applications can be found online at www.pawsofloverescue.com, under the adopt tab.  We require an approved application before a meet and greet is set up.  December 22, 2025, 9:07 am

Story
Meet Max! He is a 1 yr old neutered male German Pinscher/Doberman Pinscher that weighs 66lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 10/14 as an owner surrender. Reason given was he had too many animals, and Max was a big pup. He has been very well cared for, clean soft fur, and may be housetrained. He is an extremely handsome boy, and always has a smile on his face. Despite being left at the shelter, he has an upbeat, happy go lucky personality. And such a silly playful side too. He found a stuffed toy and he threw it up in the air and bounced around the shelter yard. He walks well on a leash and takes treats gently. On occasion he does get excited and will try to jump, yet he can be quickly redirected with the sit command. Very smart pup! He hopes he can find a loving family with a secured yard, take him for walks and enrichment, shower him with plenty of stuffed toys and be close and cuddly with his human companions inside on his own dog bed. Tho he had no reaction to other dogs barking at him, we do ask if there is another dog in the home please ask the shelter for a dog test. Come meet this wonderful boy!!

Story
Sweet, handsome, fun-loving Blake is 2 years old and weighs 50 lbs. We think he is a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix. He is affectionate and loves to give kisses and cuddle with his people. He is friendly with every person he meets, but he can be a little picky about his dog friends. Blake is an excellent choice for someone wanting an only dog, but we think he would be ok in a home with smaller dogs. He loves to play fetch, and any old ball will do, but he hasn't quite mastered the part of bringing the ball back! Blake is very athletic and needs his daily exercise. He loves taking long walks. He is crate and potty trained. He won't be a good fit for apartment life. Blake will be a super loyal and loving companion. To meet Blake, please submit your application, and an adoption counselor will contact you.

Story
Meet Luna, lover of walks, food, and stuffies. She is an active 5-year-old labrador/black mouth cur mix that weighs about 50 pounds. She has beautiful golden eyes with amazing built in â&#194&#128&#194&#156eye-linerâ&#194&#128&#194&#157. She also has some battle scars from rough encounters with other dogs, leading her to being very dog selective. She has a sensitive tummy, requiring a low-fat diet, and early signs of hip dysplasia. Both are controlled with inexpensive medication and supplements. She is up to date on all of her vaccines, she is spayed, and microchipped. Luna is high energy, so she is always up to go for a walk, but also enjoys a good nap. She likes to engage in zoomies and serious sessions of play to burn energy. She would like a home where she can be the one-and-only pet. Small children stress her out, so we'd want to make a match with kids thoughtfully. She is good with older children and teens who can respect her boundaries. Luna is housebroken, leash, and muzzle trained. She likes to sleep in her kennel at night, but prefers a little more space when left at home alone. She is a smart girl who knows a variety of other commands including; sit, stay, lay, spin, hug, place, out/in, shake, touch, and come. She has a very strong nose and loves a game of hiding and finding treats. We have made the heartbreaking decision to rehome our girl because as our baby becomes more active, she is becoming more stressed. Luna deserves a home where she can relax and we want to help her find that. She loves her people hard and would make a great addition to the right home. Story
Meet the lovable 'Porsche.' She is almost 1 years old, weighs 52lbs and is a Black Mouth Cur. She's incredibly playful, loyal, and listens well. We've had her for about 6 months and adopted her from the Richardson Animal Shelter. She loves to run around chasing squirrels/rabbits, take long walks and snuggle during the evenings. She's great with other dogs and loves taking trips to the dog park. An ideal home would be one with family members who can spend time with her and fuel her energetic spirit. Porsche is crate trained, but not yet fully potty trained - she's making good progress and definitely getting better. This super cute pup is deserving of the perfect forever home. Could it be you? Apply to adopt Porsche today! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Porsche, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Story
Help Jackson check off his ultimate bucket list item by giving him an A+ life with space to safely explore, run, and be his adventurous, happy self. Jackson is a sweet, loving, and handsome boy believed to be a Catahoula/Mountain Cur mix, approximately 8–9 years old. He was rescued five years ago and, at that time, was heartworm positive. He has since completed treatment, is fully healed, and up to date on vaccinations. Jackson is an exemplary housemate, calm, respectful, and happy to greet you each day. He is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and he keeps the home happily chew-free. He adores people and gets along very well with humans of all ages. He appears to do well with cats. When it comes to wildlife, however, Jackson takes his job seriously. If you need squirrels caught, or at least strongly discouraged, Jackson is your guy. His strong chase instincts and impressive athletic speed can come into play, so he would thrive best in a home that understand working dogs.
