This is Truffle, the 4th of the 'box puppies'.  If you don't follow us on social media, you don't know but they were found very young in a box - maybe a few weeks old - definitely too small to be out on their own without their Mom. They had skin issues and scabies, and they were rushed to the vet.  We weren't sure they were going to survive because of their condition.  They all did though.  They all have these distinctive ears that are turned over - it's pretty adorable if you can forget why they look that way. Truffle is female and she is 14 months old and weighs 14 lbs now.  We believe them to be a Chihuahua mix.  She could be aroumd 17 lbs when she is fully grown.  Like her siblings, she is sweet and loving, very playful.  She loves to be around the humans for pats and love.   As they are still just puppies they are working on being potty trained to pads, and they sleep in a bed on a floor together.   If you are interested in applying for Truffle you can go to 4dogsfarmrescue.org/Adoption.html and let us know you want her. Meghan and her 2 sisters, Missy and Ariana, were found abandoned in a pile of garbage when they were just weeks old.  They were taken into foster to grow up healthy and happy with proper nutrition and good veterinary care.  When they come to us as babies, they grow to be good-natured, playful, happy and sweet used to interacting with people and other dogs at the foster's house, they generally interact well with people and different sized dogs.  We are naming our pups after musical artists and this girl is named after Meghan Trainor because she is sassy and funny, but it's possible we should have named her Taylor because she's rather 'delicate' in appearance.   She is 6 months old and 11 lbs currently.  We think she is a Chihuahua mixed with .... a longer legged dog, like an Italian Greyhound maybe?  We are often not sure of lineage but we think that she will be under 25 lbs fully grown.  She is sweet and lovely, quite friendly.  She really likes people and other dogs.  She sleeps on a dog bed with the other dogs and is pad trained at the foster's house.  We ask that you forgive the blurry tail photos - it never stops wagging.   Meghan will have her videos posted over at our website:  4dogsfarmrescue.org/Available-dogs.html so scroll down until you see her name so you can watch them.  You can also fill out an application for her while you're there, or email us if you already have an application in and think she is the girl for you!   Meghan will come to you spayed and completely vetted. Mira is sweet, though only with those she knows and loves, which takes some time! She is part of the initiation process at the Milo Sanctuary --- not a dog for the faint of heart! A fun and lovable little toughie. Since coming to the sanctuary, she has won the hearts of every person she has met, which is no surprise considering she is absolutely adorable! Mira would be happy going for hikes as she's great off leash in the country with a pack, she's into finding adventures or just cuddling on the couch all day, though she does love adventure and needs exercise. Mira loves people, but needs quite some time to warm up to strangers and does have the propensity to snap, when reached for, handled at her neck/collar, and if spooked or forced into interactions she isn't ready for. Because of this a home with children, or people who think they know better and will push her, would NOT be a good fit for her. With time and the proper introductions and get acquainted period, she is more than willing to roll over for belly rubs, play and give/get lots of kisses, and her nicer play bites. Mira has lived with both cats and dogs and gotten along with all of them very well. She is a truly "special" little dog and will make the right adopters, those who love a sense of adventure and are quick on their feet, with their hands and like a good laugh, very happy. She loves riding in vehicles too. If you feel you and Mira could be a good match, and you don't have children or a social epicenter for a home environment - fun loving adults and other dogs are fine! Meet Ame! This girl was rescued with her friend, Charlotte, from a hoarding situation awhile ago. Both Ame and Charlotte have been up at our Sanctuary while they work on coming out of their shells! They do much better together, or around other friendly small dogs. Although Ame and Charlotte have a long way to go, they really are sweet girls just waiting for patient humans to take them to their forever homes!
