Story
***BONDED PAIR WITH GROMIT*** LONG TERM FOSTER NOTES: "I am currently fostering Wallace and Gromit. Since I'm going to college in August, I would love to find them their forever home. Since being with me, I have seen Wallace and Gromit go from being so fearful of everything to being curious and loving doggies. Wallace is the the most scared compared to Gromit, but he loves being around my dog Dahlia and hanging out with me when I watch tv. He's so sweet and gentle, and deserves to go to a home where he can continue to come out of his shell. Gromit loves his snuggles in front of the fireplace. His favorite activities are hanging out in the sun and playing with his toys. Both Wallace and Gromit have grown quite fond of my big dog Dahlia. The three love playing together and going on in my front yard to bird watch. I'm sad that I have to give them back, but I can't wait for them to come out of their shells and be loving and trusting doggies. I know the family they go to will love them and be patient with them as they start the next chapter in their life." One of two shy brothers who came up from Bakersfield, though were not at all adoption candidates, Basically close to feral upon arrival - they had been trapped.... poor little guys, never had the kindness or comforts of a loving home, or caring people. Wallace and Gromit need to be adopted together....slowly they are coming out of their shells, learning to trust! WE welcome volunteers to come sit with them and offer cheese, hot dogs, tasty morsels....and love!

Story
Mira is sweet, though only with those she knows and loves, which takes some time! She is part of the initiation process at the Milo Sanctuary --- not a dog for the faint of heart! A fun and lovable little toughie. Since coming to the sanctuary, she has won the hearts of every person she has met, which is no surprise considering she is absolutely adorable! Mira would be happy going for hikes as she's great off leash in the country with a pack, she's into finding adventures or just cuddling on the couch all day, though she does love adventure and needs exercise. Mira loves people, but needs quite some time to warm up to strangers and does have the propensity to snap, when reached for, handled at her neck/collar, and if spooked or forced into interactions she isn't ready for. Because of this a home with children, or people who think they know better and will push her, would NOT be a good fit for her. With time and the proper introductions and get acquainted period, she is more than willing to roll over for belly rubs, play and give/get lots of kisses, and her nicer play bites. Mira has lived with both cats and dogs and gotten along with all of them very well. She is a truly "special" little dog and will make the right adopters, those who love a sense of adventure and are quick on their feet, with their hands and like a good laugh, very happy. She loves riding in vehicles too. If you feel you and Mira could be a good match, and you don't have children or a social epicenter for a home environment - fun loving adults and other dogs are fine! Story
Meet Ame! This girl was rescued with her friend, Charlotte, from a hoarding situation awhile ago. Both Ame and Charlotte have been up at our Sanctuary while they work on coming out of their shells! They do much better together, or around other friendly small dogs. Although Ame and Charlotte have a long way to go, they really are sweet girls just waiting for patient humans to take them to their forever homes! Both Ame and Charlotte will do best in a slower paced environment with humans who understand that they will bond over time, and are willing to be patient throughout that process.

Story
He is adjusting to a home well now that he is in foster and is less anxious. His foster started calling him Dash as he prances around. He is anxious at first with any new people, but loses his shyness relatively quickly. He is protective of the members in his 'human family'. He is no longer afraid of stairs. When we first had him for several days he was petrified of stairs and walking on a leash. He can now do both of these without any fear. He was also very afraid of door thresholds but now is over this fear also.
