Story
Hi, I'm Gertie! I'm a 9-year-old Chihuahua with a gentle soul and a tender heart. I can be a little reserved when meeting new people and new experiences, so I'm looking for a patient family who will let me take my time and build trust at my own pace. Once I start feeling safe, I show my sweet side and enjoy being close to my people. I'm not the type to rush into friendships-I prefer a slow and steady approach, like a tiny little lady making sure everything is just right. With kindness, consistency, and a little patience, I hope to show my future family what a special companion I can be.*Qualifies for Pets for Patriots program*Qualifies for Senior to Senior programPlease email Adoptions@saltlakecounty.gov with questions Primary Color: Buff Weight: 11 Age: 9yrs 0mths 1wks

Story
Meet Woofgang Puck, or just Puck for short! This lovable 8-year-old Chihuahua mix is a little bundle of joy, possibly with a sprinkle of Beagle in his genes. At first, Puck may come off as shy, but give him a moment, and his playful side will shine like a star! Puck adores his toys and loves to get into some light-hearted trouble—just picture him as the life of the party! He enjoys his naps, but don’t let him miss out on the fun; after all, who wants to snooze through an adventure? He loves being outside, but keep an eye on him—if the yard isn’t secure, he might go on his own mini explorations. And be careful! If a door is left open, he’s ready to dash out! When it comes to other dogs, Puck needs a little help. He has a tendency to “assist” them with their meals, which can be quite annoying. His friendly greetings can be a bit much—he barks, jumps, and wags his tail enthusiastically, which may confuse his canine pals. With some training, he can learn to tone it down. He’s also learning how to handle his protective instincts, but if you have other pets, be prepared to guide him through it. Puck is quite the jumper when he’s excited and might unexpectedly leap onto you, giving playful nips at your legs! He listens when corrected but often forgets the rules once the fun starts again. While he’s crate trained, Puck feels much more comfortable snoozing on a cozy bed rather than being confined to a crate. Sleeping in your bed isn’t something he’s into just yet. The good news is, he’s house trained and will let you know when it’s time to go out. Puck does have a heart murmur and takes medication twice a day for it. He can get a bit anxious, especially when being picked up or during car rides, and sitting on laps isn’t really his scene. This sweet boy is looking for a forever home filled with love, patience, and understanding. With your support, Puck will be ready for short hikes and exciting adventures with his favorite human! Puck has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. He also had a recent dental and lost a few teeth. If you are interested in adopting Puck, please complete an adoption application on our website. Just go to uaaf.org/adopt. Story
Linkin is a sweet, silly little guy with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He’s been perfect with the dog door since day one—four weeks in and not a single accident, even before he was neutered. He loves to play with both humans and dogs, and fetch is his favorite game. His signature move is grabbing the toy, zooming into another room, then proudly trotting it back to his person. He does great with small dogs but hasn’t been tested with cats or large dogs yet. Linkin is still learning that men can be safe; he’s nervous around them but making steady progress. He’s especially warming up to Garrett, his foster dad, who has been the bringer of meals and treats. Sometimes he’ll growl when he’s unsure who’s approaching, but he relaxes as soon as he realizes it’s Garrett. Linkin is a world class cuddler who wants to be with his person as much as possible. He loves looking out the window and is usually quiet, though he’ll bark or howl at whatever catches his eye. He’s done well in a crate but also sleeps happily on the bed with the other dogs. Like any young pup, he’ll occasionally chew something he shouldn’t, but he listens when corrected. He’s smart, funny, affectionate, and just so much fun to have around. Linkin has been neutered, is current on vaccines has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Linkin, please complete an application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt). For more information, call/text Tammy at 801-819-5319 or email muddypawsgroom@gmail.com.

Story
Meet King Julian, a 10-year-old Chihuahua who is ready to rule your heart (and sturdiest windowsill). With a look that suggests he was “put back together by memory,” Julian is a unique masterpiece of senior charm and goofy affection. The Neighborhood Watch: Julian takes his royal duties seriously. He will spend his afternoons perched on the window sill, keeping a close eye on the neighbors and waiting persistently for his favorite person to return home. Toothless & Tender: Our King recently had all his teeth removed, but that hasn’t dimmed his smile one bit! He is incredibly snuggly and loves to show off his happy grin. A mixed diet of kibble and pate would please his lordship greatly. The “Jenga” Shake: He sports a classic Chihuahua tremor that makes him look like a Jenga player pulling out a precarious win-or-lose piece. It’s just part of his tiny, vibrating charm! Social Standing: Julian is a diplomat. He is friendly with other dogs and largely indifferent to cats, though he’d certainly appreciate being the “final and favorite heir” to your throne. King Julian is a work in progress when it comes to his palace manners.” He is currently working on potty training and has a tendency to mark, so he needs a patient human who can help him stay on track. Ready to serve your new King? Julian has integrated beautifully into an established household and is just looking for a permanent lap to call his own. Julien has been neutered is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. Story
Meet Chi Chi, a tiny little Chihuahua with the biggest heart. Though she is blind, she doesn’t let it slow her down one bit. She confidently navigates the world around her, loves going on walks, and enjoys stopping to smell absolutely everything along the way. She does great with stairs and adapts wonderfully once she learns a new environment—she just needs a little extra patience and guidance at first. Chi Chi’s absolute favorite thing in the world is snuggling. If she could, she’d happily become your second skin. She adores being close to her people, whether that’s curled up in your lap, tucked into a blanket, or carried around in a baby carrier. As long as she’s with you, she’s perfectly content. She is potty trained and kennel trained and she settles calmly and easily in her kennel. In new environments, she may need reminders and consistency while learning where the bathroom is. She’s generally very quiet but may bark if she senses someone entering her space.uaaf.org Most of all, Chi Chi is incredibly loving and sweet. She truly loves everyone she meets and is ready to bring so much warmth, companionship, and cuddles to her forever home. Chi Chi has been spayed, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. Story
Meet David and Alexis, little twins who will melt your heart! Alexis and David are Chihuahua - Boston Terrier mixes and around nine months old. These puppies are such a pair of little bonded buddies that we would like to see them adopted together - a little bundle of sweetness and fun. They spend 24/7 climbing, chasing, wrestling, and napping together. In addition to be with each other, these kids also love hanging with their people. They'll follow their favorite person from room to room, hoping for snacks and adventures. They're the sweetest little pair. They get along great with other dogs of all sizes. They haven't been tested around cats, but as puppies they'll adapt. They would do best in a home with older children. David and Alexis are typical puppies: if they're quiet for too long, you'll want to see what shenanigans they're up to. They understand the doggie door and are working on their potty training. They love a trip out to the yard for potty time! David and Alexis are neutered, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heart-worm negative. Are they a perfect fit for your family? Our guess is yes! If you are interested in adopting David and Alexis, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org/adopt).
