Meet Lola! This sweet spunky girl was shy at first but quickly opens up into a playful energetic pup, a Velcro dog who loves attention from her person. She came to us with her young puppy Luther after an accidental breeding... the rest of her puppies were sadly handed out "free to good home" way too young but we were able to secure her with her last puppy before he met the same fate. She's been a good mom to her baby in foster care but at only a year old is ready to get to enjoy her own puppyhood at last now that she's been spayed. She's under 15lbs full grown and looks like a doxie/chihuahua mix. She does need some work on housebreaking and is still a puppy at heart and needs some work on her house manners. She tends to bark when nervous meeting new people and other dogs, and fast movements and young children make her nervous so she's looking for a low key adult home that will continue to gradually socialize her. Remi is a sweet, friendly, and playful Dachshund mix, about 2 years old. She has a lot of typical puppy energy. She likes chasing balls, and walks nicely on the leash, but then will cuddle up with you on the couch for a nap. Remi is house trained and sleeps through the night in her crate, and also travels comfortably in her crate. She seems to know the “sit” command and has pretty good recall when outside in the yard. Remi gets along with her foster canine buddy. She really loves mealtime. She likes being near her foster mom, but will sometimes decide to nap in a different room. Stairs are a bit of a challenge… She’ll go up, but down?…not yet. Remi is a typical sassy Dachshund…a happy dog with a waggy tail. Charming CHAMP is a middle-aged guy who likes mellow walks and quiet time with his human. He LOVES to snuggle and at 15 lbs he fits wonderfully in a lap. We estimate him to be a Dachshund / Terrier mix and about 7-9 years old. He would do best in a quiet household without children or other pets. Champ can be very protective of his people and home, so he would prefer to be your one and only - no other pets or children. Any interested applicants will need to come to the shelter to spend some time with him before adoption to understand his behaviors and how to best support him to have a happy home. The volunteers at ARF love him to bits and know he will be a wonderful buddy for the right person!
