Story
Meet Shelby 🐾If you've ever thought, "I wish my best friend had more opinions," Shelby is your girl. This playful, energetic Husky queen is fully up to date on all neighbourhood happenings. Squirrel three fences down? Noted. Delivery truck arriving early? Reported. Leaf blowing suspiciously across the yard? Investigated. She runs a tight ship.Shelby is an outdoorsy legend 🌲 Whether it's hiking trails, beach strolls, snowy adventures, or "let's just wander and see what happens," she is IN. She's looking for an active human who enjoys doing the things - bonus points if you also narrate your hikes dramatically like she does.Shelby Highlights:🐾 Knows sit, down, shake a paw, and an absolutely charming sit pretty🐕 Great with medium to large dog pals🚫 No cats or livestock, thank you kindly🚗 Loves car rides... but please keep the windows closed. Wind in her fur? Absolutely not. She has standards.🍗 Foodie... but the picky, discerning, five-star-review kindAnd can we talk about the cat-like affection? Shelby doesn't just lean in for pets - she rubs up against you like a 60-pound husky-shaped house cat. It's equal parts hilarious and heart-melting.Now, fair warning: she is chatty. Like, husky chatty. She will tell you when she's hungry, when she'd like a walk, when the vibes are off, when the vibes are great, and possibly when Mercury is in retrograde. Communication is key in any healthy relationship, right? 😉Shelby isn't looking for couch-potato energy (unless it's post-adventure recovery mode). She wants a human who says "Let's go!" and means it. Someone who appreciates personality, loyalty, and a little dramatic flair. If you're ready for a playful, opinionated, outdoors-loving sidekick who will both hike mountains and supervise your snack choices - Shelby is waiting. 🖤https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/Shelby, spayed female, Husky X, 5.5 years, ID# 568904 Primary Color: White Weight: 29.4 Age: 5yrs 6mths 2wks

Story
Atlas here is a special lady who is looking for an equally as special home; one that understands and celebrates her unique quirks and hilariously silly personality. Her ideal home will feature an experienced guardian who is looking for a bit of a fun project, and can offer her consistency and lots of positive reinforcement while she adjusts into her new life. This girl loves her squeaky toys, stuffies and fun ropes, of course with a good game of tug and toss in the midst. She will slap her paws around in a hilarious manner in victory of her games, and makes us all laugh with her child like joy that shines through!Atlas finds change to be a bit overwhelming, and when she finds herself to be a bit overstimulated, she can display this with a lot of jumpy and mouthy behaviors, and the classic shepherd spins and whines. She can sometimes hide in a place she finds safe, so would find a high activity home very overwhelming and would be best in a calm mature environment. Atlas would do best as the only pet in the home due to her anxieties, and she is used to being an only child. Atlas does have an eye condition called Pannus, very commonly found in German Shepherds, that requires regular eye medications. Her adopter should ensure they do their research, and are comfortable and confident in their ability to navigate any future concerns regarding them. Please fill out an application below if you are interested, and we will be contacting approved applicants for scheduled meet and greets! Primary Color: Red Secondary Color: Black Weight: 31.9 Age: 6yrs 10mths 1wks

Story
Merk is a handsome hound with a big heart and an even bigger personality! This sweet guy is looking for a forever home with someone who understands hounds and loves their quirks- especially the musical ones! True to his breed, Merk can be quite the talker and has a lot to say about the world around him. He's quite sensitive to outside stimuli and does get vocal in response. Merk is looking for an experienced dog owner who can help him feel secure and where he can relish in all the attention he needs. A shelter is a tough place for a fella like Merk, everything is a bit much for him at times, and he gets frantic and has a tough time relaxing when his mind is set on something!Although he can be quite excitable at times, Merk does settle down when things are calm and he is able to show off his affectionate and goofy side- giving you kisses every chance he gets! In a home, hes a whole new hound, and deeply enjoys the time he gets to spend with you. He loves to stand and lean against you while receiving butt rubs, and doesnt want you to stop! Merk really enjoys squeaky toys, spiky balls are his favorite, and he will happily run after them and squeak them to his heart's content!Merk is looking for a home that can give him guidance, patience, and love. Who can show him positive reinforcement training and gentle learning encouragement as he enters this newfound world. If you're a hound savvy human who has room in your heart and home for one deserving dog, Merk may be the fella for you! Please feel free to fill out an application if you think Merk would be a good fit! Story
Meet the lovely Lily! This sweet girl has lots of love to give and cannot wait to find her furever home. She is shy with new people, but it doesn't take long for her to become comfortable and seek attention. Once she trusts you, she will eagerly expect belly rubs and snuggles. Lily has previously lived with other dogs and done well with them, so she would likely do well with a canine buddy in the home. She has lots of energy to burn and loves to run around outside showing off her speed. Lily is working on her on-leash skills as she does pull a bit, but with positive reinforcement she'll become a master in no time. She's very food motivated and will never turn down a treat! Lily is seeking a local foster-to-adopt home as she is scheduled to have dental surgery on March 5th. If you're interested in her, send us an application! Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 20.05 Age: 4yrs 8mths 2wks

Story
When Geppetto first went home as a fluffy, happy puppy, he was everything you’d expect — cute, joyful, full of life, and full of love. What no one quite planned for was just how much he would grow. And grow. And grow. Sold to an 84-year-old woman who adored him, Geppetto quickly became a very big, very strong, very enthusiastic Standard Poodle. Without the training and socialization a growing boy needs, he simply learned to navigate the world on his own terms. Walks became a tug-of-war, greetings became full-body learning events, and playtime with other dogs looked more like a joyful bulldozer than polite canine conversation. He was never mean. Not even close. Just big. And happy. And unpolished. When his owner, now 88, had to move into a seniors residence and could not bring him along, she asked for help. And so Geppetto joined us. He has now been in foster care for a month, and we’re excited to share what we’ve learned about this huge, fun, snuggly boy.
