Meet Zeus! 🐾Zeus is a big, lovable goof who is still very much a puppy at heart! He's playful, affectionate, full of personality, and has a wonderful enthusiasm for just about everything life has to offer. Whether he's heading out on the trails, hopping in the car for an adventure, or enjoying some playtime, Zeus is happiest when he's out doing things with his people.And while he certainly loves to have fun, Zeus has a softer, snuggly side too. He's a big fan of belly rubs, pats, and simply hanging out with his humans. For all his playful energy, he's just as content to settle in beside you and enjoy some quiet time together.Zeus is also quite the entertainer! He loves a good game of fetch and will happily chase down a ball. Bringing it back, however, is apparently optional. He's still reviewing the rules of the game, and we're not entirely convinced he agrees with all of them. Ha!Now, Zeus may be a big boy, but he's still very much a puppy at heart, and with that comes a little learning! He already knows sit, down, and off, and he's currently working on his loose-leash walking skills. He's a smart, enthusiastic guy who would benefit from someone willing to continue helping him learn the ropes. Think of him as a big baby who's still figuring out how to navigate the world with four paws, a whole lot of excitement, and occasionally questionable coordination. 😂When it comes to four-legged friends, Zeus does well with larger dogs who appreciate his rather exuberant style of play. He's not exactly a delicate little flower when playtime rolls around, so a like-minded canine companion who enjoys a good romp would be ideal! Cats and small dogs, however, aren't a suitable match for our big fella.We think Zeus would absolutely thrive in a rural setting where he has plenty of opportunities to explore, stretch those legs, and enjoy all the wonderful things that come with being a dog. Trails to wander, adventures to be had, and a human (or two!) who enjoys getting outside as much as he does? That's the dream!Zeus doesn't need someone who expects him to have everything figured out already. He needs someone who sees the wonderful dog he is, appreciates his goofy puppy ways, and is excited to help him grow into the best version of himself.He's got the personality, the affection, the enthusiasm, and a whole lot of love to give. Meet Rupert!! Aka Smooshie face, Baby boy, Rupie Poopie, Rue-rue, or a million of other random and fun names we think of! This guy has stolen the hearts of all the staff and volunteers he meets, and is going to be an excellent companion to the right home. Rupert here is a special dog, and is eagerly awaiting the right home with that extra special vibe. His ideal home would feature him as the only pet, as cats are too interesting, and he can be quite selective with other canine pals.Rupie is full of love, affection and silly antics. He craves a home who can offer him guidance and structure, and really misses having HIS person by his side. He bonds hard with his human friends, and will be a loyal friend until the end. This fella doesnt seem to know he isnt a tiny puppy anymore, and will gladly try to hop into your lap, or lean his whole body weight against you while you scratch allll the best places. He wants nothing more than to have a human best friend, and excitedly brings you his best toys and shows them off in his silly way.Rupert is a young, energetic guy who adores walks, and wants to see the world with his own eyes. He adores outings and adventures, daily strolls, and would thrive with his own yard to sun bathe in. Rupert is in need of a home that can prioritize low impact exercise and enrichment with him, which means he's not a good candidate for someone who wants to run and hike with a canine companion. He is such a smart fella, someone who wants to really commit to his training and tricks would earn a gold star rating from him!Because Rupert does have some ongoing medical needs, and is seeking a committed guardian who will ensure that he gets the care he needs now, and in the future. Mala is a very loving, goofy boy! He loves to "hug", snuggle and play with his squeaky toys. He is nervous of new people but once comfortable, he would like to be a lap dog.Mala's world has been very small so he will need the help of gentle, dedicated, dog savvy guardians to guide him. Mala's lack of worldly experience causes him to be nervous of new things and people. He does not have much experience with things we may consider to be normal, everyday, stimuli. Mala has struggled to feel comfortable walking on busy roads and is not willing to venture far without a person he trusts. Mala will need time and patience to bond with his new family and work on his fears.Mala knows "sit", "lie down" and "shake," although he is working on giving one paw at a time. Mala has been gaining weight and recovering from food insecurity so he can be quite enthusiastic about his meals and should continue with puzzle or slow feeders. As he is still anxious about getting enough to eat, and does not have much experience living indoors, his people will have to ensure there is nothing too easy to access on counters and garbage is tucked away. This history has caused some food resource guarding, but he continues to make improvement as he learns the food is readily available and people aren't trying to take it from him. Mala should be the only animal in the home but shows positive interest in other dogs. Mala has met quite a few dogs on his adventures away from the shelter and has done very well. He is not quite interested in playing with other dogs but may be in future if he gets to know them. Meet Jeffrey & Joey: Twice the Love, One Forever Home ❤️Jeffrey, 11, and Joey, 10, are a bonded pair of senior Fox Terriers who have spent their lives together and are looking for a loving home where they can continue their journey side by side. These two are a package deal and must be adopted together.Both boys have had extensive dental work and have had most of their teeth removed, but that certainly hasn't stopped them from enjoying life!Joey has also been through a little more medically. He recently had a cancerous mass removed from his head. Our veterinary team is hopeful that it was removed in time, but there is a possibility that the mass could return. Their future family will need to be comfortable continuing regular veterinary checkups and closely monitoring Joey for any changes.Jeffrey and Joey may be seniors, but that just means they come with years of experience in being adorable.
