Story
Merk is a handsome hound with a big heart and an even bigger personality! This sweet guy is looking for a forever home with someone who understands hounds and loves their quirks- especially the musical ones! True to his breed, Merk can be quite the talker and has a lot to say about the world around him. He's quite sensitive to outside stimuli and does get vocal in response. Merk is looking for an experienced dog owner who can help him feel secure and where he can relish in all the attention he needs. A shelter is a tough place for a fella like Merk, everything is a bit much for him at times, and he gets frantic and has a tough time relaxing when his mind is set on something!Although he can be quite excitable at times, Merk does settle down when things are calm and he is able to show off his affectionate and goofy side- giving you kisses every chance he gets! In a home, hes a whole new hound, and deeply enjoys the time he gets to spend with you. He loves to stand and lean against you while receiving butt rubs, and doesnt want you to stop! Merk really enjoys squeaky toys, spiky balls are his favorite, and he will happily run after them and squeak them to his heart's content!Merk is looking for a home that can give him guidance, patience, and love. Who can show him positive reinforcement training and gentle learning encouragement as he enters this newfound world. If you're a hound savvy human who has room in your heart and home for one deserving dog, Merk may be the fella for you! Please feel free to fill out an application if you think Merk would be a good fit! Story
Meet Bailey!Bailey is a young, energetic Husky-Shepherd mix (with a bit of mystery sprinkled in) who's ready for an active home that can help her reach her full potential. She's a sweet, people-loving girl with a big personality and an even bigger voice!Personality & TemperamentBailey is true to her Husky roots-curious, independent, and always following her nose. She can be a little aloof at times, but she warms up quickly and loves attention from people. She's playful, bright, and eager for adventure.Training & BehaviorBailey currently has no formal training and will need an adopter committed to helping her learn good manners and structure. She's very strong on leash and requires continued work on recall. With consistency (and maybe some tasty treats), she has great potential.Good With...Dogs: Seems comfortable around other friendly dogs given proper introductionCats/Small Animals: very excitable strong prey drive cannot go in a home with cats!People: Very friendly!Ideal HomeBailey is not a match for first-time dog owners or homes with young children-she'll thrive with someone experienced, patient, and active. Because she has a loud bark/yelp and a healthy set of Husky vocals, she's not suited for apartments or condos. She's looking for a home that can offer space, training, exercise, and lots of love.If you're ready for a fun, spirited companion who will keep life interesting, Bailey may be the adventure buddy you've been waiting for! Primary Color: Sable Secondary Color: Grey Weight: 27.7 Age: 1yrs 3mths 0wks

Story
Meet Derick - an energetic goofball of fun, enthusiasm and a little chaos!✨This lively fella is bursting with personality and ready for a new adventure, but he's also got a lot of learning to do.📝 Derick gets very excited when he's around his favorite people (it's not hard to get on that list)! His excitement usually comes out in the form of jumping up and trying to give lots of kisses. 🐶Derick is a smart boy, but can be a little stubborn at times; so he'll need a patient, positive-minded owner who's excited to help him grow into the best dog he can be.Think of Derick as a puppy in a full-grown dog's body-full of zest, curiosity, and a whole lot of energy! He loves to stay busy and thrives on both mental and physical stimulation.🧩 Long walks, exciting playtime, puzzle toys, and training games that challenge his mind are perfect to help him burn off that excess energy and learn good habits.Derick is still figuring out his manners and can be quite jumpy and mouthy, so consistent training, gentle boundaries, and lots of praise will help him learn to settle and listen. With patience and love, he can become a confident, happy, and loyal companion who loves to learn new tricks and share adventures.🐕‍🦺⛰️If you're ready to take on a lively, fun-loving dog who's got a big personality and needs a bit of guidance along the way, Derick is your perfect match! Prepare for lots of love, laughter, and tail-wagging fun (and maybe some cheeky kisses)!🩵If you are interested in making Derick the newest member of your family, hit the link below to submit a pre-adoption questionnaire today!https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Black Weight: 34.2 Age: 2yrs 0mths 4wks
