Story
Max is a charming 7-year-old mix with the best of three breeds and a personality that's full of heart. Known for his adorable "wiggle butt," Max doesn't just wag his tail-he wags his whole body when he's happy (which is often when he sees his favorite people). He's deeply affectionate and thrives on human connection. Max can have some anxiety when left alone, so he'd do best in a home where someone is around more often, or where he can be supported with structure and reassurance.Max needs to be the only dog in the household, as he prefers to have all the love and attention to himself. That said, he's shown a sweet curiosity and gentle affection toward kittens, which might make him a good fit for a home with feline friends (with proper introductions, of course).Max is looking for a dedicated, dog-savvy adopter who understands that behind his big feelings is a big-hearted, loyal companion just waiting for the right person to love. Please submit an application through the link below for Mr. Max!https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Red Brown Weight: 26 Age: 7yrs 2mths 2wks

Story
A bit about Obi- Likes meeting new people- Okay with children- he is selective about his dog friends, may be best as the only dog in the house- Not good with cats.Obi is a loyal, affectionate companion who loves being close to his people. He thrives on togetherness, enjoys learning new things, and is more than happy to follow you from room to room. He's also an A+ snuggler-his favorite moments are spent curled up under a shady tree while you read, watch the clouds, or enjoy a cozy nap together.Obi does like to use his voice and will bark (loudly!) when he hears or sees something interesting. Because of this, he hasn't been successful in homes where he shares a wall with neighbors. He knows some basic commands and is eager to please, though he is strong and sometimes uses his size to get his way. He's currently a bit on the plump side, so a healthy diet and some extra activity will do him well. With his strength, smarts, loyalty, and snuggly personality, Obi will make a wonderful partner for an active person or family who also appreciates slow, lazy afternoons together. Please fill out our pre-adoption questionnaire (linked below) if you would like to know more about Obihttps://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Weight: 55.6 Age: 5yrs 0mths 0wks

Story
Meet Virgil - our eligible bachelor with the most irresistible puppy-dog face! This sweet, bashful boy is just starting to come out of his shell, and he's showing us how much he wants to learn what life is like with a caring human companion.Virgil arrived as a stray, so we're still discovering his true personality. We suspect he may have had a difficult past, and it takes him a little time to trust new people. But once he does, his playful side shines through. He loves to bounce around, play, and enjoy some good old-fashioned butt scritches!Because we don't know much about his history, slow and thoughtful introductions to new family members-both two-legged and four-legged-are important. Virgil would thrive in a stable, quiet home where he's given the time and space to observe the world and try new things at his own pace. Treats won't be the key to his heart, but mutual respect and patience will.If Virgil sounds like the perfect match for you, please fill out an adoption application using the link below. He can't wait to meet his new best friend!!https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 28.3 Age: 2yrs 0mths 4wks

Story
Meet Ziggy, a 5 month old Corgi/German Shepherd mix! This sweet boy was abandoned all alone in the cold, but thankfully he was brought into our care, and is now awaiting his forever home.Despite his tough start in life, he is a lively and energetic pup who is always ready for an adventure! With a playful spirit and boundless enthusiasm, Ziggy is the perfect companion for an active and outdoorsy guardian looking to add a burst of joy and excitement to their lives. Ziggy is at the age where training and routine are critical, so he needs the consistency, patience and love of his new guardian to show him the ways of developing into a mature and fulfilled adult dog. Adopters are encouraged to attend puppy obedience classes, but the basics are a must - leash training, socializing with people and other dogs, and, of course, house training. Ziggy has not been well socialized, and because of his age and lack of experience, potential adopters should be prepared to take on these challenges.Ziggy won't be a puppy forever, and as he grows, there are some important things to keep in mind about his breed. Ziggy is presumed to be a German/Shepard mix, however we cannot guarantee this is 100% accurate without a DNA test. Given his presumed breeds, there are some behaviours that Ziggy will need to channel in a healthy way. Corgis are a herding breed, so it's very important that he is given outlets for these instincts. German Shepherds are highly intelligent and energetic dogs, who thrive with lots of mental stimulation and exercise. So if you're looking for a goofy, rambunctious friend who is eager to learn and keep you on your toes, Ziggy is the perfect match! **We are accepting applications, and are looking for a Foster-to-Adopt home while Ziggy awaits neuter surgery. **If you think Ziggy could be a good fit for you, please fill out an application below.https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-kamloops/*TIP: We encourage all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted. Leaving these questions empty inhibits our ability to make the best match possible, and drastically effects the likelihood of receiving a call back.* Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Weight: 15.5 Age: 0yrs 5mths 0wks

Story
Meet Mila! She is a 4‑year‑old Malinois cross who is ready to find her forever home. This darling girl was surrendered to us when she needed emergency surgery to save her life. She had been through a painful infection and traumatic surgery, so she was very nervous when she first arrived. She has since settled in and shown her true colours - fun, cuddly, and brilliant!True to her Malinois roots, Mila is happiest when she has a job or activity to do. She loves any activity that challenges her sharp mind and expends some of her boundless energy, whether that's long hikes, agility, obedience practice, or interactive play sessions. Mila is very well trained, knows several commands and tricks, and will often sit and wait even when she is bubbling with excitement! Exercise, and plenty of it, preferably side by side with her guardian, is paramount to her happiness. Daily games of fetch will keep this girl very content.Mila is a loving companion, so she struggles when she is left alone for long periods of time, and will vocalize when she is lonely or excited. She has a high prey drive and enjoys chasing squirrels, but has had friendships with cats in the past given proper introductions. She can be reactive at times but is glad to make dog friends with slow introductions, and she much prefers male dog friends. Mila is best suited to a highly active home that appreciates her need for both physical exercise and mental stimulation. She would thrive with adopters who enjoy outdoor adventures, structured training, and spending quality time with their dog. In return, Mila offers unwavering loyalty, a playful spirit, and the joy of watching a brilliant, sensitive dog flourish. If you think Mila could be a good fit for you, please fill out an application below.https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-kamloops/*TIP: We encourage all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted. Story
Meet Annapurna! Annapurna is a 3 month old Kangal mix, searching for her forever home. Annapurna is a lively and energetic pup who is always ready for an adventure! With a playful spirit and boundless enthusiasm, Annapurna is the perfect companion for an active family looking to add a burst of joy and excitement to their lives. This spirited little pup loves to run, jump, and explore, and she is eager to learn new tricks and games. Annapurna is at the age where training and routine are critical, so she needs the consistency, patience and love of her new guardian to show her the ways of developing into a mature and fulfilled adult dog. Adopters are encouraged to attend puppy obedience classes, but the basics are a must - leash training, socializing with people and other dogs, and, of course, house training. Annapurna won't be a puppy forever, and as she grows, there are some important things to keep in mind about her breed. Annapurna is presumed to be a Kangal mix, however we cannot guarantee this is 100% accurate without a DNA test. The Kangal is a large, powerful, and muscular Turkish livestock guardian known for being independent, courageous, and protective. They are loyal and gentle with their families but reserved with strangers, and not recommended for novice owners. These massive dogs require a lot of room and are not suited for small dwellings due to its size, strength, and energy. Highly independent and often stubborn, the Kangal can be challenging for inexperienced owners to train. Early socialization and consistent, experienced training are crucial due to their protective instincts and independence. So if you're looking for a fun-loving, rambunctious friend to keep you on your toes, Annapurna is the perfect match! If you think Annapurna could be a good fit for you, please fill out an application below.https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-kamloops/*TIP: We encourage all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted.
