Story
Meet Missy! Missy is a very sweet, loving, and exuberant girl ready for a new chapter in her life. Missy came into care with many other dogs after having a challenging start to her life. Despite that, Missy wants nothing more than to be loved. She craves being close to people as much as possible and enjoys snuggling up with a cozy blanket. Missy is sweet, deeply loving, and incredibly loyal, she is just waiting for a human to bond with and once she does, she'll be your devoted shadow everywhere you go. Whether she's gazing up at you with those soulful eyes that make you want to give her the world, sitting faithfully at your feet, or snuggled as close as physically possible, her happiest place is simply by your side. She adores treats and is eager to learn, always ready to please and soak up affection. Because of her challenging start to life, Missy is still learning how to be a dog. Missy has not had the opportunity to live in a home yet, so she is looking for patient adopters that will help her navigate all there is to learn. Practically everything is new to her, and it's critical that any potential adopters are willing to prioritize creating a safe space for her to learn that the world isn't so scary after all.If Missy sounds like the right fit for your home, please fill in an application below! https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Black Weight: 28.6 Age: 2yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
Meet the spectacular Cecil! Are you looking for your next companion whose heart is as big as his paws? Cecil is an absolute show-stopper and is eagerly waiting for his ideal adopter to notice him! His perfect home would be willing to give him alllllllllll of their attention as the only dog in the home, as he can play a little rough sometimes, and understand his desire to chase cats. He LOVES being around his people and is always willing to play with toys or spend time in the yard with those that he's familiar with.Cecil is a very handsome fellow, but he is still working on his confidence with new environments and people. He will need a patient adopter who is willing to shower him with compliments, and help make those new experiences a little less scary. He is still learning the ropes of good manners and will need some help ensuring that all 4 paws stay on the ground, but Cecil promises to give you all of his love and snuggles in return.Cecil is a very big boy, so he will need lots of space, and lots of food, to keep him looking and feeling his best. If you are interested in adopting su-paw-star Cecil, please submit an application to the Shuswap branch through the link below!https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Apricot Secondary Color: Black Weight: 59 Age: 3yrs 11mths 2wks

Story
Max is a charming 7-year-old mix with the best of three breeds and a personality that's full of heart. Known for his adorable "wiggle butt," Max doesn't just wag his tail-he wags his whole body when he's happy (which is often when he sees his favorite people). He's deeply affectionate and thrives on human connection. Max can have some anxiety when left alone, so he'd do best in a home where someone is around more often, or where he can be supported with structure and reassurance.Max needs to be the only dog in the household, as he prefers to have all the love and attention to himself. That said, he's shown a sweet curiosity and gentle affection toward kittens, which might make him a good fit for a home with feline friends (with proper introductions, of course).Max is looking for a dedicated, dog-savvy adopter who understands that behind his big feelings is a big-hearted, loyal companion just waiting for the right person to love. Please submit an application through the link below for Mr. Max!https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Red Brown Weight: 27 Age: 7yrs 5mths 1wks

Story
Meet Eddy! Eddy is a loving dog who is ready to have a new start in life. This handsome guy has unfortunately learned in his past that life is not always kind. Because of his rough start, new things can often feel scary to him at first, but underneath that caution is a dog who truly wants to do well and try his best to impress people. Once Eddy has time to get to know you, his sweet personality shines. He is a devoted snuggler and can sometimes think that he is a lap dog. Eddy finds a lot of comfort being curled up with someone that he trusts. When he feels safe, Eddy will be sure to show off his playful side with his zoomies around the yard. Eddy's speed and lack of coordination when he gets the zoomies is sure to keep you laughing.Because of his past, Eddy is still learning some of the basics. He will need a patient adopter who will see progress in small victories and use positive reinforcement to encourage Eddy every step of the way. Eddy has not had the opportunity to live in the warmth of a home environment and so he is continually learning how to be a dog such as how to play with toys, walk on a leash, and where to go to the bathroom. If Eddy sounds like the right fit for your home, please fill in an application below! https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 26.7 Age: 6yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
I love Hunni she was brought into a household that didn't know how to train dogs & was overall unprepared for her - & she was brought in with her sister too by my dad. I read books on dog training, & tried to step up, but I'm out of my depth with her. First, littermate syndrome meant her & her sister have to always be separated; second, there is no yard at the house & they're high energy - I started canicross but I do not have time to keep both satisfied. Third, our adult dog disciplined her a bit too roughly, & she's been reactive with her since. Fourth, she's also been attacked by a large cat several times, & now reacts to cats (she was raised with cats, though, so with work I've heard this is reversible!); lastly, she started reacting with new people. This is very new, & she never used to react & so I'm sure it's also reversible. I wish I could be the one to train her through these challenges, but I also know she would be much happier in a more experienced home.

Story
Meet Sullivan 💙🐾 a lovable corgi–bully mix with a big heart and an even bigger cuddle game! Sullivan is 1 year old and 40 lbs, the perfect medium-sized companion. He plays well with other dogs with proper introductions and would do best in a home with older kids. He's a no-cats kind of guy, but when it comes to people, he's all in 🥰 Sullivan is fully housetrained, comfortable with daytime and overnight crating, and enjoys his daily walks. He can be barrier and leash reactive, so he's looking for a confident, patient handler who can continue working with him on building confidence and helping him overcome his fears. With a low-to-medium energy level, Sullivan is happy with about a 45-minute walk a day followed by lots of downtime. At home, he loves chewing on his toys, lounging on his dog bed, and soaking up all the affection. He truly enjoys being the centre of attention. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion and are willing to support Sullivan as he continues to grow, he has so much love to give and will be incredibly rewarding 🐶✨
