Story
Adoptions are currently by appointment. If you're interested in adopting, please start by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button above. Meet Lexi, a spirited pocket sized Cattle Dog (at only 25 pounds) that's full of energy and adventure! Lexi can be a bit cautious around new faces, but once she warms up, she’s incredibly social and wants to form strong bonds. With her athletic lifestyle, Lexi would thrive with an active family or individual who can keep up with her energy. She loves to snuggle with her person and can keep up on hikes or trail rides. She has a high prey drive (and is your typical nippy cattle dog) so no cats or little kids. Lexi gets long with other chill dog friends and likes play time but would prefer to be the only dog in your home. If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving friend, Lexi might just be your perfect match! Fill out an adoption survey or call C.A.R.E. today!

Story
Hey Everyone, I’m Jax! When I first got to the shelter, I was pretty scared of everything. But everyone has been so friendly and lets me have tons of fun playing ball, heading out for hikes, and making sure I get snuggle time and pets too. Training time is also fun, and I like to show off sit, shake, stay, belly crawl, can master food puzzles, and I know clicker training too. Because I didn’t experience a lot as a little puppy, I am often scared of things like other dogs and loud cars going by (and when I get scared, I get kind of defensive and reactive, I can’t help it). Besides working on getting me more comfortable seeing these kinds of things, I’d also just like a home away from noise and chaos, where I can be the only pet, with plenty of couch and cuddle sessions, and lots of action for my brain and body (I’m told I’m a blue merle border collie, so this is important!). I promise I will make a very best friend. If that might be you, get your adoption survey in or call the shelter, they’d love to tell you more and let you meet me!
