Story
Hello, my name is FINLEY and I sure would like to tell you about myself. Don't you think I'm a handsome dude?! I was just groomed and everyone told me I was so good! I am 11 healthy years old! All my tests are perfect, and I don't have any medical issues whatsoever. I am up to date with all my vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and on heartworm prevention. I'm very smart and learn things very quickly, like using the doggie door and the ramp to get on the bed. Yep, I sleep on the bed with my human. My housetraining is a work in progress, but Im actually doing much better now that my foster mom takes me out regularly and often. I'm sure I can master this once I am in my permanent home. I warm up quickly to everyone. Just hold out a kind hand and I will come to you. I love, love, love people and I really want to be near my humans as much as possible. I'll curl up to you on the couch and look up at you to pet me. I really love tummy rubs too. How could you resist me? I greet you eagerly when you come home even if you just go to the mailbox and come back to the house! I must confess that I will grab all the attention I can get. To be honest, my ideal home would be as the only dog, so I have all the attention from my human. I'm not a picky eater at all. I'm easy to please when it comes to food. I guess I had better tell you what I absolutely don't like. I really hate riding in any type of vehicle: cars, RVs, trucks, SUVs, dune buggies, bicycles, anything with wheels!! I hope you would like to meet me. I really am a very good boy and all I want is to be loved, petted, get belly rubs, and feel safe. Am I asking too much? I hope not. If you met me, you'd know what a sweet and loving boy I am. If you wish to be considered for FINLEY or any of our dogs, you are welcome to start the process by filling out an Adoption Application which can be found on our website at www.coastalpoodlerescue.org . On the homepage, click on `Adopt Now` on the right hand side to access the online application. Be sure to answer EVERY question on the application. If a question does not apply to you, enter N/A. For phone numbers that do not apply to you, enter all zeros for the phone number. If you do not answer every question, you will not be able to submit your application. Please note that we only adopt to Florida residents because we require a home visit.

Story
Bella has been a phenomenal dog for our family. She is well trained and very sweet. As bulldogs are she can be stubborn but nothing out of the ordinary. She is great with other dogs. Loves to play, sleep and eat. She’s 9 year and still doing great. We’ve never had health issues with Bella. She’s been perfect in that regard. She loves to cuddle and is friendly with everyone. She loves meeting new people asking for someone to rub her.Bella is potty trained and is very well behaved with our belonging. She have never chewed anything other than her food and her toys. She communicates really well when she needs something like more food, potty or wants to play. With our 2 toddlers and an infant we are not able to give Bella the time and attention she needs. We feel that she could be in a better situation for her with a family or individual that can focus on her more than we can. It’s a tough decision but we feel we are doing the best thing for her. A home with a yard would be ideal.

Story
Bandit is our five year-old Shih Tzu Maltese mix. He’s super friendly, lovable, and full of energy. He was born blind in one eye and with a deformed left front leg. We have learned he also has intervertebral disc disease (IVDD) limiting the use of his hind legs. He can get around on his own without any problem, but he cannot climb stairs or furniture. He will get around the house and yard, especially when there is a new friend to meet. He takes Gabapentin on a daily basis. Bandit has been more aggressive lately with our other dogs, and for that reason, we are no longer able to care for him. Ideally, we’d like to place Bandit in a home where he can exercise, get some playtime, and hopefully find a permanent home ready for his affection.

Story
Buddy is a nine year old small/medium (28 lbs.) mixed breed dog with a heavy case of Chihuahua (31%). He looks and acts like an oversized Chihuahua. We had his DNA tested and Buddy shows zero genetic conditions and he is in good health. Buddy loves to go for long walks and he loves to play catch or tug of war with his toys but he is gentle and doesn't like rough housing. We rescued Buddy from a Humane Society shelter three years ago when he was six. He looks like an oversized Chihuahua and has a Chihuahua's nervous disposition. Over the last three years Buddy has been my best friend and he is a perfect companion for me. The problem is I have grand children who want to come over and Buddy is not good with little children, so we are afraid he might react poorly and someone might get hurt if we are not careful. I am hoping to find someone who would have the time to befriend Buddy and care for him like a companion rather than as a pet. He really is a good boy.

Story
Hi, my name is Jesse. It is with a heavy heart that I put my sweet beloved friend up for adoption, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to take care of Honey with my current schedule and while I have my young daughter and another on the way. Honey is trained but gets overly excited so tends to forget some of the training at times and needs a little patience. Honey needs a big outdoor area and an experienced dog owner to give her what she needs. Other than all of that, she is a big goofball who loves to play. She is a dope but also very smart in ways I can not even describe. She is sure to brighten the lives of whoever she touches.
