Story
Balloo belonged to a friend who was unable to keep him. It has been nearly a year but my friend is still unable to keep him and has relinquished him to me. I have my own dogs and am over the limit for my condo complex. He is a Shar Pei and very sweet and submissive - he appeared to be an adolescent when I took him in.. I hate releasing him because I have grown to love him but I never intended to keep him for life because I am already at my limit with pets at my condo. I do not want to give him to an organization- I want him to go to a home where he will be loved. He is good with kids - my grands love him. He is very timid and will take time to warm up but he loves to be loved; he seems to crave it - I really want him to be with a very nurturing person. He is not leash trained -he was afraid of the leash to start and I simply haven’t had the time to train him. He needs his forever home. His main must haves are yard with a fence and a very loving home.

Story
Wally is a very active, intelligent boy. He’s a huge cuddle bug who also enjoys running, car rides, climbing, swimming, toys, doggy friends, learning new things and all things exiting! Wally is crate trained and has a solid obedience foundation. He is a high energy dog and will need a home that understands this. He would do great with an active family, sport dog home, or even in specialized fields like scent work!

Story
**Meet Maple 🖤** Maple is a beautiful black Lab mix who is approximately 2 years old. Through no fault of her own, she found herself sitting in a crowded shelter, confused and wondering why the only life she had ever known suddenly disappeared. Maple spent her entire life on a farm alongside her brother. One day, while they were outside playing, her brother chased and killed a chicken. While Maple never participated, the decision was made that both dogs had to go. Just like that, she was taken to a shelter and left behind. For a dog who only ever knew her home and family, the shelter was a frightening place. Maple couldn't understand why she was there. She had done nothing wrong. Yet because of someone else's actions, she ended up at a full shelter where dogs are euthanized simply because there isn't enough space. When we visited the shelter to rescue another dog, we noticed Maple quietly sitting beside her kennel door. She wasn't barking, jumping, or demanding attention. She simply sat there politely, hoping someone would see her. We couldn't leave her behind. Since entering foster care, Maple has shown herself to be a sweet, gentle soul. She is still decompressing and learning that she is safe, so she can be a little shy at first. Once she feels comfortable, her loving personality begins to shine through. Because of her shy nature, Maple would do best in a home without very young children under the age of five. However, she interacted with patience and love with a 7-year-old temporary foster sibling when entering rescue. She also appears to be dog-friendly. Maple isn't asking for much—just a family willing to give her the second chance she deserves. She has already lost everything she knew once. Now she's hoping to find a forever home where she'll never have to wonder why she was left behind again. Could Maple be the missing piece of your family?

Story
**Meet Cali ❤️** Cali is a 2-year-old Hound mix whose story broke our hearts the moment we saw her. When Cali arrived at the shelter, she was so severely emaciated that the shelter would not even post her photo online. You could see every bone in her body. We reached out and requested a picture, hoping we could learn more about her. When we received it, our hearts sank. We don't know exactly what happened to Cali before she arrived at the shelter, but it is clear that she has endured an incredibly difficult life. Despite everything she has been through, she has never stopped loving people. Instead of being fearful or angry, Cali is unbelievably sweet. Her gentle spirit shines through every interaction, and we knew immediately that we had to help her. Since coming into our care, Cali has been slowly gaining weight, strength, and confidence. Unfortunately, she also tested positive for heartworms, but we have already started her treatment and are committed to seeing it through. The best part? As Cali begins to feel better, her personality is blossoming. Every day she gains a little more energy, a little more excitement, and a little more joy. It's been incredible to watch her discover what it feels like to be cared for and loved. Now that she has put on weight and is feeling stronger, Cali is ready to find the forever family she deserves. To help make her adoption as easy as possible, we will continue to cover the cost of her heartworm treatment and will pay for her spay surgery, even after adoption. Cali has survived neglect, hunger, and hardship, yet she greets the world with kindness and hope. Now all she needs is a family willing to give her the happy ending she's been waiting for. Could you be the one to show Cali what forever feels like?
