Have you ever seen a sweeter face? Emmett, all 60 pounds of him, is a sensitive soul. He can be timid at first until he knows you, but after that, he will be your proud friend for life. Emmett has a good mix of energy for play yet settles down nicely inside. He loves to play fetch and go for walks. Emmett would need to meet your dog prior to adoption to make sure they'll both get along well together. He is not good with cats or kids. Story
"Hi, I'm Winston and I've been told I'm the best lookin' dog around! I'm a stocky guy with adorable shorter legs that suit me perfectly (and also make it easier for me to dig in and pull you around while walking, lol). I prefer to be with you than on my own so I hope you have plenty of time for us to spend together. I've been told I'm a super smart escape artist who laughs at even tall fences trying to keep me from finding you, so keep that in mind they say and keep me safe. Please ask to meet me, I'm so excited to get the chance to explore life with you! Cheers, Winston."

"Did my adorable ears get your attention? Yep, I'm a goofy, lanky pup with a sweet demeanor. I like to give hugs and can be just a bit shy in new situations. Please ask to meet me away from other dogs so I can focus on meeting you and not be distracted. See ya soon!"

Story
Two dogs were found roaming in a field together and brought to our shelter. You are looking at Nola. Nola and Tessa appear to be a mother-daughter duo. These dogs are RARE GEMS. So sweet they are worth their weight in gold (which is not reflected in their affordable adoption fees). Both dogs are exceptionally calm and gentle, and great on a leash. They do very well together and very well with YOU. They just need a loving owner with a good yard. They are create trained and would benefit greatly from a large crate with a nice bed they could share overnight or while you are away. This will make the transition into family life seamless! If interested in meeting and adopting, fill out an application online (https://www.thhs.org/info/adoption) or stop by and talk with staff. Meet and greet sessions occur during adoption hours (Tues-Sun 1-4 and Friday 1 -6). ADOPTION INCLUDES: Spay or Neuter, Deworming, Vaccinations (excluding rabies), Microchip, Free Vet visit at Participating Offices. Adoption Fees may vary, but our standard fees are: Kittens and Cats $85, Puppies $200 and Dogs $125. We offer Discounts on Senior Animals and Special Needs Animals. We also offer special incentives for Seniors and Military.

Story
Preston is bursting to be out of his kennel and with his forever home, family, and yard! His almost desperate excitement is soon quelled by activity and structure. He is motivated to move, to get you to move, and to learn! Once he realizes he's out of confinement and enjoys a jog in the sunshine, you will appreciate his real self. His Achilles heel is a belly rub - just start rubbing and he'll be paws up. Can you offer him a home, a spacious yard, and - dream come true - a morning jog? If so, please hurry over and meet him. He is crate trained so pick up a large crate for him to sleep in at night and when you're away to transition him quicker into home life.
