Story
Molly is 2 years old (born 2/19/2022) and given to my daughter by a friend. She is an energetic, fun loving dog who loves to play. She's housebroke, knows several words ("Outside", "Potty", "Eat", "Treat", "Sit", "Lay down", "Shake", "get in your bed") and tricks using words/sign language (Sit, lay down, shake, high-five, up, kiss). Molly was spayed, vaccinated and microchipped 3/05/24. vaccines include rabies, bordetella, distemper/parvo/lepto. Molly is such a sweet dog, but requires a lot of physical energy that the average kid could easily keep up with, however, my daughter has a congenital heart defect and has underwent 3 open heart surgeries. She is struggling with physical limitations and I myself am struggling with a significant knee injury and having difficulty getting around and must use a cane most of the time. It's not fair to Molly to be cooped up all the time and we want her to go to a good home, hopefully with a fenced yard she can run in.

Story
We picked up Franklin (Pickle) from the local animal shelter at 8 weeks old. He is currently about 16 weeks old and growing. He would flourish at a home with a yard or a family that is active. He is very energetic and excited about everything. He is very playful around other dogs but tends to get a little too excited. He loves to jump around and will follow you at every opportunity. He is a loving dog that deserves the best.

Story
Posted on 11/21/23 Pippi came to us together with her little canine sister Alda from a local animal shelter. Pippi is a super cute, super adorable, and a super couch and bed buddy 6 lb. pure bred Min Pin girl! She is very small but has a mighty personality and she must greet everybody with loud "who are you?" barking. She can be a bit shy initially but warms up very quickly especially if you have a treat! Her foster mom reports that Pippi has made significant progress with her potty habits - if she is on a regular schedule with going outside in the yard or for a walk, there are no accident. However we cannot guarantee that she won't have an accident during the adjusting period in a new home. Pippi is fun to have around and she wants to be near her human as much as possible. She likes to curl up in a cozy blanket on the couch and she likes to go outside in the yard and bark at whatever deserves it. Pippi is very attached to her younger canine sister, the two are always together and look for each other when one is not near by. For Pippi (and her younger sister Alda who is only about 3 years old) we are looking for a home with active humans who can give them a lot of attention (ideally no other pups in the household), take them for regular walks and play with them in the yard. Both pups are very good in the car and they seem to enjoy outings. Pippi and Alda need a home with a securely fenced in yard and no children under the age of 12. We have not seen how they behave around cats but don't anticipate problems. Pippi is fine with other small dogs. Pippi is current on vaccinations including Rabies, she is spayed, she is micro chipped, she tested negative for heartworm and she is on heartworm/flea/tick preventative. If you are interested in adopting Pippi please fill out an adoption application on our web site. If you don't hear from us within 48 hours of submitting the form please contact us via email at inthenest@gmail.com If we think it is a promising fit we will contact you via e-mail or phone. Pippis adoption fee is $200

Story
Posted 11/21/23. Alda came to The Nest together with her canine sister Pippi, a 6 lb. super cute Min Pin. (see more info about Pippi on this site) from a local animal shelter. Alda is between 3-4 years old, very energetic and playful as well as super snuggly and laid back whenever her human is. Alda definitely is a Yorkie, perhaps mixed with a chihuahua. She weighs about 10 lbs. and seems very big next to Pippi. She is very bonded with her sister Pippi, therefore the two must go to a home together. Alda loves Pippi and looks for her when she is not in sight. The two love to play and wrestle with each other and go for walks together with their human or run around in the yard. Both Alda and Pippi do well in the car. They are always ready for an adventure! Alda is house trained and does really well when on a regular schedule. However we cannot guarantee that there won't be an accident while she get acclimated in her new home. Alda and Pippi can be loud when a visitor comes to their home (barkbarkyapyap!) but once they warm up (TREATS!) they are fine and want to be everyone's friend! Alda just like her sister Pippi is just stinkin' cute and a lot of fun to have around. Alda and Pippi need a home with a securely fenced in yard and no children under the age of 12. We have not seen how they behave around cats but don't anticipate problems. Alda is fine with other small dogs. Alda is current on vaccinations including Rabies, she is spayed, she is micro chipped, she tested negative for heartworm and she is on heartworm/flea/tick preventative. If you don't hear from us within 48 hours of submitting the form please contact us via email at inthenest@gmail.com If we think it is a promising fit we will contact you via e-mail or phone. Story
Kyle is a special guy and our longest term canine resident. Every so often, we get a dog that just doesn't quite conform to the typical canine ways. Perhaps they would prefer to be cats, or don't really know how to speak dog. Maybe they are introverts and wish they weren't expected to be quite so social all the time. Whatever the case may be, Kyle is one of those pooches. He can be somewhat feline in the way he behaves; he would like to be petted on his terms, and he would like to do his own thing in the yard, and he has his favorites when it comes to people. However, Kyle also has many wonderful qualities. He is incredibly affectionate with his people, wanting to give kisses and sit in their laps. He makes some very funny noises, often sounding like the grouchy old man he is on the inside. He is housetrained and always potties right away when he goes outside. He is quite smart and quick to offer a paw in exchange for a treat. Except...it better be the kind he likes, or he'll spit it out. He is doing his best to learn about How to Be a Dog and is currently in a foster home with another male dog. He's not terribly playful, though he'll trot around now and then or paw to say hello. Kyle would be best in a home without cats or children. If interested in Kyle, please email our Outreach and Behavior Coordinator Emily Herr at herre@bloomington.in.gov

Piper is a Courtesy Listing and is not housed at the Animal Shelter. Please note that the City of Bloomington Animal Care & Control accepts no responsibility for this pet. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian.Piper is a great girl. She’s LOVES to cuddle and sleep in between your legs. She’s very anxious around new people men especially. She does great with our 2 other other dogs we have both a male and female. She does okay with cats we have an outside cat that she doesn’t really mess with however I’m not sure how she’d do with an inside cat. She does not do well with children at all which is why we need to rehome her. A meet and greet would be much appreciated to make sure she’s a good fit for you and your family. If you would like to inquire into adopting this pet, PLEASE CALL OR TEXT (812) 821-4480***Please ignore the Apply to Adopt button for this pet & contact the owner directly***
