Story
Shes friendly and affectionate, loves to play and get attention. When the day is over, she settles down quickly. She doesn't do nuisance barking, she has a very quiet bark if she wants to get your attention. She can live inside or outside, she's done both and she can be a hunting and show dog, or just a loving pet.

Story
The sad facts about JACK who was surrendered in hopes he could find a home best suited to his needs. JACK was kept outside in cold, in a kennel. Don't know why as he appears to be house-trained here. Does not like children and would prefer to be your only pet. He has TONS of love to give and would probably due best with someone who knows the breed. JACK acts like he may have been abused by a man, but warms up with sweet talk in record time!

Story
OKAY friends. What we know... SMOKEY is a purebred Silver lab recently surrendered to our care - 1 -1/2 years old. SMOKEY needs to be your only dog and prefer someone who can train dogs. Surrendered when his prior older owner went through some traumatic losses of loved ones and could not provide the care and socialization he needed. She stated that he would go after the older dogs in the home and she could not handle him - could not offer reasoning why. We believe SMOKEY picked up on owners high stressful anxiety and became aggressive with the other older dogs in the home, not permitting them near her and resource guarding. SMOKEY is a large dog apx 75-90lbs. Has not been around any children - so we believe NO children. Prior owners vet refused euthanasia and recommended training with a professional. Thus reasoning why we are reaching out to see if there may be a qualified professional trainer willing to help. What we have observed. Seems to know some basic commands, Protective of "his" people which we now are. Was adopted as a puppy from a local breeder. Does not care for other dogs here - largely ignoring them unless they go too close to the front of his cage. Did go off on a dog when a staff member was handling that said fearful dog in front of his cage and was believed to be protecting staff. Goes outside to potty when his kennel is open. Has NOT Any issues here with all female staff. Has been in our care since January 16th. IF you think you can offer SMOKEY the professional home he needs and have no other dogs, Please send us an email to animalcontrol@osceolacountymi.gov OR find us on facebook and send a PM to Osceola County Animal Control - or give us a call at 231-832-5790. We are located in Reed City, MI and will be very selective where and whom can adopt for obvious reasons.

Details
Good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
THE fantastic four! CAN BE ADOPTED SEPARATE! We're told owner had papers and they are "hanging Tree Cow dogs" which is 3/8 border collie, 1/8 catahoula, 1/4 Kelpie, and 1/4 Australian Shep. All have docked tails, all sat on 82 year owners lap in the recliner and there are two neutered males, Fluff and Blaze, their sisters spayed fm, GIGI and TRIXIE. Elderly owner said they were her lap dogs, and used to being inside. Sadly her recent health required her to surrender as she was moving in with her daughter. Adoption of any of the four, is a mere 25.00 with 10.00 REFUNDED upon proof of updated rabies. SUPER SWEET, but used to being in a senior's home.

Husky German Shepherd Dog

Good with dogs, House-trained,
Story
Can't understand why, but AXEL was an outside pet in his last "home" Seems completely house-trained here, We're told he was used as a doorbell. How sad! GREAT temperament, he seems to love everybodoy he meets. and for not having a lot of attention, he's been good as gold here and happy to see everyone. We're praying he could find a home with someone who has husky experience as he does have "Selective hearing" when you call him and will come... when he's done sniffing the smells. Such a big ole teddy bear!

House-trained,
Story
JOY is just that!!! Pure joy! Sadly surrendered when her elderly owner passed away and family didn't want to take her on as she is deaf so special home where she can be kept safe and not wander away is preferred. House-trained and ready to please - we need someone that would love the unconditional love and devotion she has to offer. ANYBODY who knows Aussies, knows how smart they are. She's a shelter staff favorite and is sure to be yours too. Family stated she did not get along with their dogs but she does seem to ignore them here. - so it could have been just too much initial change in her recent life
