Story
We got Gus as a puppy in September of 2021. At the time our 4 adult children all lived in the area. They now all live in different states, and it is difficult and quite expensive to find a dog sitter when we try to visit. We now have grandchildren coming into the picture and would like to leave on a moment's notice when needed. Gus is a very nice dog. He loves people and loves other dogs and children. The only negative about him is when he barks, he is very loud. (He is a coon dog).

Story
Meet Cardi! 🐾Cardi has spent the last 8 weeks in Pawsitive Futures a training program! Cardi has learned tons of commands and skills, she’s such a well rounded and playful pup! Cardi is such a smart and well behaved pup. She knows lots of commands already, walks good on a leash and is learning so much each day! Cardi is a very beautiful pitbull terrier mix that is around 6 months old and is already around 40 pounds & counting! Cardi is a very friendly and outgoing pup and would make a great addition to a new family! Cardi is housebroken as long as she is on a consistent schedule. Cardi is good with kids. Cardi does seem interested in cats and may chase them but we don’t believe would hurt them. Cardi is also good with the other dogs. We do require a dog intro with any future k-9 siblings to make sure everyone gets along. Cardi is up to date on her vaccinations, dewormed, flea treated, heartworm tested, microchipped & spayed! ✔️Cardi is scheduled to return back from training around the week of December 15th! Story
Meet Nani! Nani is a special girl with such a sad upbringing. Nani came into the shelter with her sister Nani started their first 5 months of life living in a camper, that was extremely unsanitary. They also received very limited human interaction. While Nani have come leaps & bounds, there are a lot of things that still make them nervous and uncomfortable. *While Lilo & Nani enjoy each others company they are not bonded, and can be adopted separately* 🐾Nani has spent the last 12 weeks in Pawsitive Futures a training program! Nani have learned tons of commands and skills, they are such a well rounded and playful pups! Nani is a pitbull mix that is around 9 months old and weight about 40 pounds, so we don’t think she will get too much bigger. Nani can be quite scared/nervous of new people, and do take a significant amount of time to warm up to someone new. Nani is not aggressive by any means but if she is uncomfortable will just try and avoid. Nani is housebroken and would do best in a home with older kids-young children make them far too uncomfortable. Nani doesn’t mind cats and is good with other dogs. Another confident dog is actually ideal as Nani loves other dogs! We do require a dog intro with any future k-9 siblings to make sure everyone gets along. Nani is up to date on her vaccinations, dewormed, flea treated, heartworm tested, microchipped & spayed! ✔️Nani has completed the program and is able to be adopted at anytime! Story
Meet Cornbread! For those who don’t know Cornbread, just know she’s kind of a big deal. She is one of the most popular dogs around the Central Michigan Correctional Facility! 🐾Cornbread has spent the last 6 months in Pawsitive Futures a training program! While Cornbread has received tons of training, they also offered the best care possible while Cornbread recovered from two extensive knee surgeries-to repair her luxating patella’s. Cornbread is a pitbull mix that is around 2.5 years old and weighs about 50 pounds. Cornbread is a sweet a girl who loves to be around her humans! But she’s also a master couch potato. Cornbread walks good on a leash and is overall just a sweet heart! Cornbread is housebroken and is good with kids, and will most likely chase cats. So a home without maybe ideal. Cornbread is also good with the other dogs. We do require a dog intro with any future k-9 siblings to make sure everyone gets along! Cornbread is up to date on her vaccinations, dewormed, flea treated, heartworm tested, microchipped & spayed! ✔️Cornbread has completed the training program(and then some) and is able to be adopted anytime! Story
I’ve fostered Scar for about two months, along side my personal dog that I’ve owned for three years (female pit). Scar has puppy energy and needs space to run. He obeys commands very well and is very attached to his owner. He follows me everywhere! He is kennel trained, as soon as I ask him he goes in or as soon as I grab a treat he runs to his kennel. He is used to being kept in the kennel on a full time schedule, about 8 hours a day. He still has a puppy bladder so he needs to go out often as of right now but he will stand by the door when he needs to go. Scar is very timid at first but after a couple sniffs he’ll love anyone he meets. He is very cuddly and will ask for belly rubs every opportunity he gets. I love him and did everything I could to keep him. My landowner has told me that I can no longer have 2 dogs and unfortunately I can’t give Scar back to his owner either. Scar is a great best friend for my dog and could be a great best friend for you or yours.
