Story
Rocco is a loving, sweet playful dog with a lot of energy. He just turned a year old about a month ago. He is very protective and territorial. He is very strong. Needs an owner that can give him walks because I am pregnant and my shoulder and wrist is hurt and I cannot give him the attention he needs. He does chew up things and needs an owner that can continue to train him not to do that. It takes a lot of time and energy and with me being pregnant and always sick I cannot keep up with his busy ways. He does great playing with my autistic son and we wish we could keep him but it’s not in the cards for my family. I want him to be able to live his best life not spend a lot of time in his cage because I can’t give him the attention and training he needs. Hoping someone will help us because the thought of bringing him to the animal rescue mission, and then potentially putting him to sleep breaks my heart.

Story
It's been a tough decision, but after 5 months with our beloved shelter pup, we've realized we can't provide the time and attention he truly deserves. We're looking for a new loving home where he can thrive. He is a sweet and loving dog that wants to be the biggest lap dog you've seen. He's a wonderful companion, but our current lifestyle isn't the best fit for his needs. We're hoping to find a family that can offer him all the playtime and training he craves. He is crate trained for bedtime and will come with his crate and bed. Please help us find him the perfect forever home!

Story
Reyna is a 1.5 yr old Husky/Doberman mix, has tons of energy and is a huge lover! Shes about 70 lbs and still thinks shes a puppy. Loves to try and lay on your lap or give you hugs when she sees an opportunity. With all her energy does come a bit of maintenance. She was trained with a shock collar/crate by her previous owner, so she does have some trauma issues. While in my care, I've not used either, which has shown success. She does not get into anything or chew on things while I'm away, doesn't really bark either, however she does still pee out of fear which has been the biggest challenge so far. I have gotten her used to taking multiple walks daily which has helped a lot. Her previous owners lived in the country, so they simply just let her outside. Therefore, she wants to play with every squirrel or small animal, so at times she gets excited when walking. Looking for a new home with someone with patience to care for her. She'll do great with a big yard or country yard.

Name: Jasmine Breed: Pit/Boxer mix Age: 3 years old Gender: Female Weight: 40 pounds Adoption fee: $250 Am I good with: Children: Yes Cats: We can test upon request Dogs: Meet and Greet Required About me: Hi, I'm Jasmine, sweet as the flower, and just as lovely! I'm a playful affectionate girl who's always ready for a cuddle or a game of fetch. I've got the perfect mix of energy and chill, so whether we're out playing or snuggling on thy couch, I'm just happy to be by your side. Let's bloom into best friends together! I've been at the ARP since 7/22/25 and am currently located at the ARP. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Name: Kings of Leon Breed Guess: Pit Mix Age: 4 years old Gender: Neutered Male Weight: 60 pounds Children: 10+ Dogs: Yes, Meet and Greet Required Cats: Will test upon request Adoption fee: $250 Hi, I’m Kings of Leon! I’m a fun-loving, energetic pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Whether it’s exploring new trails, chasing after balls, or splashing around in the water, I’m always up for an adventure! Yep, you heard that right, I love to swim, and I’m also great for baths, which makes post-adventure clean-up a breeze. I already know my basic commands and love showing off my smarts (especially if treats are involved). I do still need to learn not to be as mouthy and jumpy with people. After a day of play and exploring, I’m more than happy to crash on the couch and soak up some quality cuddle time. I’d be a great match for an active family or someone who enjoys the outdoors as much as I do. I get along wonderfully with playful dogs of all sizes and would love a buddy to romp around with. I've been at the ARP since 3/16/25 and am currently at the shelter. I might not be the first one to run up and greet you, but give me a little time and patience, and you'll see just how much love I have tucked away. I'm a calm, sweet girl who prefers cozy corners and soft voices over busy scenes. Once I feel safe, I'll be your loyal shadow, content just to be near you.
