Story
Fred was rescued from the Kent County Animal Shelter when he was 1.5 years old. He is now almost 6 years old. Fred warms up to new people pretty easily, as long as they are introduced in an appropriate way. He lived with another male dog, however he does NOT get along with any other male dogs. He has had a history of aggression towards male dogs. He has not displayed aggression towards female dogs that we know of. He is a decent listener. He would likely need to be in a fenced yard, unless the home is far enough away from neighbors. He has moved with his family several times, which has initially been stressful for him, but he adapted easily with few behavioral issues. Fred is in need of a new home because living with a young child in the house has been stressful for him. He tolerates the child very well, however it is obvious he would be more comfortable with older children or no children in the home. He is a guard dog through and through.

Story
SMILE!!! Mr. Grinch is available again! His foster family says he is too adoptable for him to stay with them. They are very kind and want to help a dog that will be hard to place. ❤️ He will literally smile at you with his zero teeth. He LOVES attention! He will follow you everywhere and his cuddling skills are too notch! He has a big personality! Things to know about him: 1. He does not care for his crate so a gated area would be better for when you are away. 2. He does have to wear a belly band. Aka diaper. BUT they are SUPER easy. Have questions? Just ask. 3. He has lived with many dogs and cats but... He can have a Yorkie attitude sometimes with certain dogs and a precious 39 pound cat. Other dogs he is completely fine with. Also, he has no teeth but I don't want another dog to get grumpy with him that do have teeth. 4. He is TINY. Very tiny. Under 6 pounds. Are you looking for a cuddle buddy and companion?

Story
Need a Facebook miracle! **HOMELESS MISS PICKLES** Buckle up for her sad story! Miss Pickles was famous among the homeless community here one Sturgis. Her homeless owner loved her dearly and made sure she was always fed and they gave each other companionship. She was very loyal to him. Unfortunately, her dad passed away earlier this year. His family reached out for help and that is when we learned Miss Pickles was going to have little ones. A friend of her original owner wanted to adopt her and was even willing to raise her babies and we would find forever homes. He did an amazing job with them and they came to me at about 5 weeks old and I got to spoil these little babies until they were adopted right before Christmas. Miss Pickles has been with him the whole time but life has changed and now Miss Pickles finding herself needing a new family. She gets spayed next week and we would love for a home for her to go to. She was loyal to her original owner. She was the best momma and took her responsibility seriously. She raised great babies. Here is the kicker- SHE NEEDS TO BE THE ONLY ANIMAL in the home. She is potty trained. She does whine when you leave for the day but does settle. She has been around teenagers but no kids younger so I'm not sure how she would do. She likes toys and loves food. She is about 55 pounds, few years old and maybe a lab mix of some sort. She is super Loyal!! Let's not let her down! WE NEED A MIRACLE!

Story
This handsome guy was living the Amish life and needed a soft spot to land. Tessa, of course, said yes. Had poor Kevin ever been inside? No idea. Ever been on a leash? Probably not. Been to the vet. Don't think so. But now he knows what warmth, dog beds and individual time is ❤️🐾. He loves being outside. He loves other dogs. He is also ok with cats. He likes following you around and will come when called. He has a couple things we are still working on. When meeting new people, getting into a car and a few other times he will pee. Has it gotten better? Yes. But it still happens. Hoping there is someone out there that will give Kevin a chance. ❤️🐾
