Story
4/26/19 Potential adopter must have knowledge of mill dogs and their emotional needs. Ranger is doing better, but is still very fearful of new surroundings and some men. Ranger is a former mill dog who will need an experienced owner, and will need a dog friend in his home. He is still frightened, but has come so far in a short amount of time. He needs to gain your trust and realize that people are really ok. Ranger does quite well with women, but seems terrified of men. Ranger has been brought up to date on vaccines, dewormed, flea treated, heartworm/lyme tested (negative). He will be neutered and also microchipped. If interested in meeting this handsome man, please go to our website and submit an application. PLEASE NOTE: Ranger will need more than one meet with potential adopter. www.pawzandpurrz.org RR335 PLEASE NOTE - all cats/dogs presently in the home must be up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered unless vet can verify medical reason

Story
6/9/22.... Meet Panda. Panda is in need of a quiet home that has a TON of love and patience. Panda's world was turned upside down, along with his two siblings (Baby Girl and Elvis) when their owner's could no longer keep them. Panda seems to be taking it the hardest and hasn't figured out what is going on. Panda has warmed up to his foster mom and follows her all over. He will let his foster dad pet him, but only when he is on his mom's lap. He is being fostered with his siblings and several other small dogs but Panda seems quiet afraid of some of them. If you look closely at his photo, you can see where his jaw is crooked. Apparently at some point in his young life,he was attacked by a larger dog. Panda will be brought up to date on vaccines, mircochipped, heartworm/lyme tested and the whole works. We will also inquire about his jaw and cherry eye. If interested in fostering and/or adopting Panda, please submit an application. www.pawzandpurrz.org RR335

Story
12/19.... Millie is currently on hold until we can figure out her skin issues. Thank you for your patience. Meet beautiful Millie. Millie is a senior who enjoys shorter walks, daily naps in her favorite recliner. She also enjoys helping her foster mom with some gardening although she'd rather sit on the porch and supervise. She really loves women and seems leary of men who wear hats. She will bark when people come to the house. She will continue to bark until she gets the cue from her foster mom that it is ok. She is crate trained and housebroken. The perfect home for Millie would be someone who is home most of the day and can just let her relax and enjoy her senior years. She would also benefit from having another laid back dog in the home. We do not know how she would do with cats. If you are the perfect family for Miss Millie, please submit an application. She is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, flea treated, spayed and also received a dental. www.pawzandpurrz.org RR335

Story
1/12/23... Jack seems to be doing a lot better and his issues are clearing up. We are now accepting applications for this beautiful soul. 12/19... Jack has been experiencing some skin issues which we need to resolve before leaving our care. Thank you for your patience and understanding. 12/7.... Jack is just the sweetest little man you will meet. He is being fostered with other dogs and although he does not play with them, he doesn't bother them either. Jack seems to be deaf, so we are still learning his signals to potty and he is working extremely hard on this. Jack is not crate trained... we really have no reason to crate him. He enjoys napping and sitting on his foster mom's lap. When Jack wants something, he will do a little dance and it's up to you to figure out if he needs to potty, wants a treat or he believes it's time to eat. Jack would do best in a calm home with no toddlers due to his hearing loss. Jack is up to date on vaccines, has been neutered, microchipped, lyme/heartworm tested, flea treated and dewormed. He also has had a dental. He does have a grade 3 heart murmur. If interested in giving this little fella a loving home to live out the remainder of his life, please submit an application. www.pawzandpurrz.org RR335

Story
1/27/23... Beautiful Hazel came to us after her time was up at dog control. No owner came forward to claim this lovely lady so we stepped up to take her in. We pulled at least (no exaggeration) 100 ticks off from this poor girl as she sat there and never made a sound. Hazel would probably do best as an only dog. We are still working with her with introducing her with other dogs... she doesn't seem to like the high energy that her fur foster siblings have. BUT she may do well with a very laid back dog. We lovingly refer to her as Hefty Hazel... at 58 lbs. she believes she is a lap dog. This girl has no sense of personal space! The only thing she loves more than cuddling/belly rubs, is treats. She also (which we are working on) is a chronic couch licker. Hazel needs someone who will be patient with her; she needs to get to know you and she will become your best friend. She is housebroken and also crate trained. Hazel is up to date on vaccines, has been dewormed, flea treated and microchipped. She was lyme positive and is being treated for that. She will be spayed as soon as possible and will be ready for her forever home. If interested in meeting this sweet gal, please submit an application. Once received our adoption coordinator will review and be in touch. www.pawzandpurrz.org RR335
