Story
Hi, I'm Bandit! I was returned to the shelter when my family could unfortunately no longer care for me. They loved me very much and here's a little of what they had to say about me.Bandit, aka Pico Bandito, Bandi-pants, and Band camp. He's highly food motivated. Some of his favorite treats while training him on walks are apples, cucumber, popcorn and bacon- flavored treats. These treats are used to help with his reactivity. He's leash reactive to bicycles, pedestrians, other dogs and people pushing strollers. When he meets people/other dogs off-leash, he jumps up but is happy/excited. He had two dog friends he had fun playing with off leash in their fenced-in yards. He still needs extensive work on his reactivity to passing cars. Bandit is very nervous around kids and would probably do best in a home with kids 12+. He's crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night. I put a little peanut butter on his red bone chew toy every night. He's easy to bathe at home in the shower. He's very smart and loves to learn. He can sit, stay, roll over, go to your crate, leave it, drop it and let's go. We have been working on him sitting at the door and staying in the car until I say "let's go". Bandit is nervous but good in the car. We crated him in the car on a longer trip and he did great. He despises the vacuum and the mail person. He didn't mind fireworks at all surprisingly. He loves to play, play, play. He's not a couch potato. He wants to fetch, tug and sniff out hidden treats in the yard and house. Bandit is so busy sniffing on walks that he doesn't listen to his body. It's not uncommon to take an hour long walk, only to have him come in the house and poop. He also likes to grab snacks that he finds on the side of the road or the side walk. He will let you remove objects from his mouth without biting you and is almost always gentle when taking treats from your hand. Bandit is a really wonderful, energetic, entertaining and funny dog. So smart and so handsome. Tummy, butt scratches, naps in the sun, playing with dogs that can match his level of enthusiasm, and peanut butter are all of his favorite things.

Story
HI HI HI HI!!! My name is Monty and I am just the most excited to meet you! I am a super sweet gentleman and I want to be the best of friends with everyone I meet. I love going outside on walks and to romp about in the pen to burn off some of my energy. I am working hard on my leash walking, but am going to need an owner who can work with me until I really get the hang of it. I'm just so excited to see and sniff everything all at once that I sometimes forget that there's a person attached to me. If you are looking for a best friend who can play and hike and enjoy the more active side of life, then boy, am I the guy for you! If you think I would be a good addition to your family, please call the kennel staff at (413) 447-7878 ext.126 to learn more about me and arrange to meet me!

Story
Hey hey hey! My name is Tilly, and I'm a super sweet and super energetic dog! If you're looking for someone who will keep you on your exercise regimen and provide endless entertainment, then look no further, because I'm it! I came to Berkshire Humane Society as a stray, and when no one stepped up to claim me, I was put up for adoption. I've been doing a good job at keeping my kennel clean, so staff believe I was at least mostly house trained in my previous living situation. I can be a little wary and become stressed with excessive handling, mostly with the veterinarian, so someone who is willing to watch and understand my body language and signals would be ideal for me. I love to hang out with my people and receive pets and love, but also like to "do my own thing". I don't like the companionship of other female dogs and rambunctious male dogs, but I could potentially live with a calm/mellow male dog. When I get really excited I do a little tap dance with my two front feet. I can be a little reactive to other dogs while outside, but kennel staff have been working with me on this and I've been making great progress! I could potentially live with kids 10+ but no kitty cats please as I have a high prey drive. If you're interested in more information about me, please call kennel staff at (413) 447-7878 ext.126.
