Story
MEET JANGO – An affectionate dog who is willing to please! Are you looking for a dog who loves to cuddle?  Jango has a gentle heart and a desire to be close to her people. She’s a smart girl who is eager to please and enjoys learning, even though she hasn’t had a lot of formal training.   Jango is a three-year-old (April 3, 2023), tri-colored Border Collie, weighing 55 lbs.  She knows basic commands like sit and down and has done some leash walking. Jango is kennel trained, respectful of fencing (no digging or climbing), and sleeps inside at night.  She is housebroken.  She would do best with someone who has the time and heart to continue working with her and give her the one-on-one connection she’s looking for. She truly wants her person.JANGO DOES WELL WITH:·         Other dogs – She has been around other herding dogs and enjoys playing.·         Kids – She has been around kids from 6 years old to teens and has done well with all.·         Adults – She will alert bark but then is very friendly when people come in.  She has never shown aggression to humans.JANGO IS UNKNOWN WITH:·         Cats – There are barn cats at her current home, but she has not been given access to them.  Given her issues with livestock, we would have concern about cats.JANGO DOES NOT DO WELL WITH:·         Livestock – IMPORTANT – Jango and her littermate are known to have killed three lambs, on separate occasions.  It is believed that her littermate was the instigator, but she participated.  We will not place Jango in any home with livestock.THE REST OF THE IMPORTANT DETAILSJango is spayed, and up to date on her vaccinations.  She will be microchipped before adoption.  Jango is currently in Prineville, Oregon. Her adoption fee is $400. If you are interested in adopting Jango and are pre-approved, please contact the adoption team at hunahapps@gmail.com. Announcing Roper, a darling 8-week-old male McNab/Idaho Shag mix! (Sorry, but Adopt-a-Pet doesn't offer either of those breeds on its dropdown) Are you ready to take on a very young, active puppy and train it up to be the best dog ever? Are you a person who loves the outdoors and spends a lot of time with your dog going on adventures? If so, then Roper may be the pup for you! Roper is very people-oriented and loves to cuddle. But don’t let that fool you - he’s no couch potato! Roper is very active and would love a BIG life! A home on a large ranch or farm property would be awesome. Roper’s foster mom notes that this amazing pup is: • Athletic and capable • Food motivated and moderately ball motivated • Intelligent and well balanced with a big personality • While not yet potty trained, he is showing good potty behaviors • Crate training, as a work in progress, is going well. • Fine with older children In his foster home, Roper shows some herding tendencies and being exposed to all sorts of farm animals, including pigs, geese, ducks, cats, horses, and other dogs. He follows his foster mom everywhere during the farm’s morning chores. Roper was born on March 6, 2026. He is being fostered in Bend, Oregon. He is up to date on his vaccinations and has been wormed and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400. Story
Meet Vader! Vader is a calm Border Collie/Heeler mix with a fluffy black coat and soulful eyes. He is house trained and demonstrates great behavior indoors and out. His gentle demeanor makes him the perfect companion. While he initially hated his crate, he now happily curls up in his crate at night on his own or sprawls out in front of the couch while his foster family watches TV. He loves to go on casual walks, energetic jogs and even hikes- no pulling the leash! He copies your mood and just enjoys being with company. He truly is a sweetie! He has this quirk where when he’s really happy, his tail doesn’t wag, it goes in circles like a helicopter! He knows sit, down, up, speak, and fetch. Vader has shown significant reactivity towards male dogs and smaller dogs. His ideal home will be as an only dog or with a larger female canine companion. He can be slow to trust new people. His foster family has been working with him on these issues. He has been known to chase cars if unsupervised. Vader has no experience with livestock or farm animals but will chase cats, so a cat-free home is needed. Breed: Border Collie/Heeler mix Age: 3 years old Weight: 55 lb Gender: Male Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Dog friendly: Larger female dogs only Cat Friendly: No Kid Friendly: Has lived with 12-year-old and one year old children successfully Crate trained: Yes House trained: Yes Vader is currently being fostered in Vancouver, WA. We have volunteers who can help with transportation. His adoption fee is $400. If you are interested in adopting Vader and are pre-approved, please contact the adoption team at hunahapps@gmail.com. Story
I am Emily, a 10 year old, 15 pound Papillon mix sweetheart, the Farah Fawcett of the dog world. I am fostered in Cascadia, Oregon, an hourish from Eugene, Corvallis, Salem and Sisters. 2 hours-ish from Portland and Newport. My rescue will travel part way to meet you if you are coming from afar. I will be getting a dental in Bend, so I will be in your town soon. I am a spunky, cute girl with plenty of life and love in me. I love walks, and will run in a green field, walk by your side, and toodle around the yard. I snooze happily on the couch otherwise. I am house trained, love pets and snuggles, and am accustomed to sleeping on a human bed, quietly, through the night. I would do fine with gentle older kids, other nice dogs, and though I have not lived with them, I would likely do fine with dog savvy nice cats. I prefer to be in good company most of the time, than to be left alone for long hours. I am fine left alone for reasonable periods of time. . I am spayed, vaccinated, am having a dental and bloodwork April 17th. You can apply now, and then I will be ready to go shortly after my dental. I will lose a bunch of teeth, and I know that my mouth will look better, I will feel even better and by even more lively afterwards. My adoption fee is $300. A great home and my must haves include: 1. An owned or stable renter home with a securely fenced yard. 2. Folks home more than not. 3. A family that will treat me as a family member and will include me in their activities. 4. Adopters who will feed me good quality food, give me great vet care, and who know and are prepared for grooming costs. If you meet the criteria above are interested in this unique and great gal, inquire or apply now as I would love to come home with you soon. To inquire, email: awoofovermyhead@gmail.com. Put "Emily" in the subject line, tell us a bit about yourself and how I will fit into your life. Leave us a number where you can be reached, and we will reach out promptly, if it seems we may be a match. To apply, complete the following application: https://forms.gle/cEaywEF1QcJ8S1Gn6 We favor thoughtfully completed applications. Non cigarette smokers only, please. Thanks!
