Size

Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs special attention, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Poor Chewy was brought into the county shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. He had ear and eye infections that took several weeks to treat. It seems they were left untreated for quite some time, and we have tried several different medications to get them cleared up. Our vet said, because of scarring and irritation he will need his ears cleaned and medicated regularly. The ones we were given costs around $35.00 and should last a month or two. He unfortunately does have a heart murmur and will more than likely need medications in the near future. Chewy is a loyal and affectionate companion, deeply devoted to his human. While he may be wary around large dogs, he gets along famously with smaller breeds. He enjoys cuddling on the sofa to watch TV and finds comfort in sleeping under the covers with his human. He does bark at strangers but walks well on a leash and is house trained. Chewy would thrive in a home where he can be the center of attention as the only dog, with a couple or single person who can provide him with the love and affection he craves. He bonds closely with his human and prefers not to be left alone for long periods. He even met some kids at his current foster home and had no issues. Chewy is around 10 years old and weighs 15 lbs., likes to ride in the car, and is good on the leash. He is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped, and received a fecal, exam and 6 months of heartworm preventative. We do not know if he would be ok with cats or a busy home. He has been around children and was a sweet boy. He is not a fan of the crate. He will go in but will complain loudly. He also likes to sit on top of the crate and be the king. lol He is good with house manners if taken out regularly. He goes outside when prompted and will occasionally ask to go out. He does use pee pads if he is indoors. We do know he had one owner and a small male dog who was only 1.5 years old with him in his former home. Everyone who meets him says he is a sweet old man, and he would love to be the one and only with his one person. He loves to have one person and he attaches to them and loves to sleep next to you under the covers. Grandpa Chewy is located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Home visit, approved application, and adoption fee of $200 required.

Story
Sweet Tigress is ready to find a family! Tigress, who is almost a year old, is a real cuddle bug. She’s a recent euthanasia rescue from a North Carolina shelter. Her breed is believed to be a Plott Hound/mixed breed with a beautiful brindle coat and white paws. She weighs 35 pounds. Tigress is an active puppy who enjoys running around the big fenced yard and then resting on the sofa or laying in a sunny spot for a nap. Her favorite toy is a stuffed animal or a chewy Kong. Tigress is a quick learner and has no accidents with house training. She is very good at letting you know when she needs to go out for a potty break. She is crate trained as well. She may be vocal at first when placed in the crate, but quickly quiets down. She’s always eager to go to bed for the night in her crate. Tigress enjoys walks with her harness. She is playful and very much a social butterfly. Currently she shares a home with two other dogs. However, Tigress is not a fan of cats! Tigress enjoys traveling in a car and is a bit shy meeting new folks. She’s always game for a head scratch or good belly rub. She is more curious than fearful of loud noises like a vacuum cleaner. Tigress truly has a loving disposition and only wants to please you. Under a year old and only 35 lbs, this pretty little girl is just stunning! She comes spayed, vaccinated, fecal tested, heartworm negative, microchipped and current on preventatives. We rescued Tigress on the day she was to be euthanized and she is grateful to be out of the shelter after over 60 days in a run. She is located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Home visit, approved application, and adoption donation of $250.

Story
Chase needs a foster or foster to adopt or Adopter! Chase was in a high kill shelter with minimal resources in North Carolina for 3 months living in a run. He was just days away from being euthanized when PLP saved him! Chase is about 2 years old and weighs 45lbs. We believe he is a hound mix. He has beautiful golden eyes and the most genuine smile. Chase is so sweet! He loves to be with his people. He is still learning what are toys, and what are not. He loves to play and take walks. After being in the shelter for sooo long, the crate does stress him out. But he has been sleeping on his own dog bed with no problems. He is still working on house training. His foster has discovered that if he gets the zoomies inside, it’s time to take him out immediately! He takes treats and food from your hand very softly and gently. Chase likes to jump up and give hugs, so he has been working on "down" and he is getting it. He loves the dog park and he is very social! At home, he is either napping, or following you and watching what you are doing. He has been good on a long lead in an unfenced yard but would love a fenced yard where he can run without restriction. When outside, he needs supervision or good locks on the gate as he has been able to unlock them at his foster home. He is good with dogs but not with cats-he wants to chase them! Chase is up to date on all vaccines and preventives, neutered, and microchipped. He did test heartworm positive so is currently on medication. Chase is located in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area. Home visit, approved, application, and adoption donation of $200 required.

Story
Mick was found roaming the streets alone right before a storm! A Good Samaritan kept him safe and contacted PLP. He is a 47lb tricolor hound with a short sleek coat who loves nothing more than to be loved. . We are estimating he is about 4 years old. This handsome man is so laid back and never meets a stranger. Favorite things: Toys Other dogs Snacks Car rides All of the love and attention he can get House and crate trained! He will go in his crate but has been doing so well his foster family has a separate room he stays in when nobody is home. He sleeps in one of the dog beds at night with his furry foster siblings. He LOVES food so he is currently eating out of a slow feeder. He was under weight but is now healthy and gets 1 cup of food 3 times a day. Mick does well on a leash especially when another dog is along for the walk but seems to prefer running free so at this point we think he would do best going to a home with a fenced in yard for him to run in. Mick is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines and preventative! Adoption Mick is located in the Myrtle Beach, SC area. Home visit, approved application, and adoption donation of $225 required.

Story
Carson is a very sweet and loving six year old dog. The humane center said he is an English Coonhound Mix, but he seems like more of a Labrador to me. He LOVES snuggles and being pet. He is calm in demeanor and very sweet. He does have dry skin, and needs to use a special shampoo. He also takes allergy medicine when skin flares. I am a single mom, and my son is 13 and now involved in many after school sports and activities. I feel sad that Carson is left alone all day. We also do not have a yard for him to be able to enjoy. I pray that there is a loving family that will welcome Carson into their home and lives ;as you will not regret it. We love him very much, but we want him to have a better quality of life.

Bear is a good boy, but our landlord is persistent in removing us because of the dog. I am financially unable to relocate and I must do something quickly. Bear is so affectionate and never makes a sound. He only needs one good walk a day and then he could hangout all day. Please help, thank you.
