She doesn’t have accidents in the home. Might need additional training with the new family. All me and my family are looking for is for a family that will love and care for her.

Story
01/06/26 16:48Placed on Needs Rescue due to shelter being critically over capacity. This is a Track Star hound, in its truest form. If you`re looking for a running partner or adventure buddy, Cinnamon roll could be your gal! This high-energy, social sweetheart is all about movement, friends, and fun. In the shelter environment, she can show her frustration—especially when she sees other dogs passing by—but that stress melts away once she gets out to play. And after the pandemic, can`t we all relate? She’s eager to interact with other dogs and does best when given appropriate outlets for her enthusiasm. On leash, she can be a strong puller, though she walks more comfortably in a harness. Once off leash in the yard, she truly shines. She’s done well playing with multiple large, energetic dogs, happily tolerating a rough-and-tumble play style and showing a clear love for fast-paced games of chase. She would thrive in a home with other playful dogs or an adopter committed to keeping her active. This affectionate girl enjoys being petted all over and seeks out human attention once her energy needs are met. Because kennel life can be stressful for her, she’ll do best in a home where she isn’t left alone for long periods. A gradual, positive introduction to crate training for short sessions will help set her up for success.Ideal home: an active adopter who loves hiking, running, swimming, doggie playgroups, scent work—or all of the above! With the right balance of exercise, structure, and companionship, this pup will make an enthusiastic and loyal adventure partner. Come meet Cinnamon Roll today!

He’s incredibly friendly, absolutely loves people, and will do just about anything for a treat. In his kennel, he can get a little frustrated, but that just means he’s eager to get out, stretch his legs, and be with his humans. He’s been introduced to other dogs and does well, making him a great candidate for a home with canine friends after proper introductions. King Kong is still very much a puppy at heart—high-energy, playful, and ready to learn—so he’ll thrive with an active adopter who’s excited to continue his training and give him plenty of exercise and mental enrichment. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, energetic companion who’s ready to be your new best friend, King Kong is waiting to meet you!

Story
01/25/26 15:12A note from Buskin`s foster family:Buskin is a sweet, affectionate boy who truly enjoys being around people and staying close to his humans. He loves carrying his toys around and is always ready for a game of playtime. When playtime is over, he’s more than happy to roll over for belly rubs or settle in for late-night cuddles. He enjoys going on walks, playing with his toys, and responds very well to treats and attention. Buskin is impressively smart and over the past few weeks fostering, he`s learned a wide range of commands including sit, down, stay, spin, paw, roll over, jump, and heel, in which he loves learning and showing off his skills! He’s fully potty trained, and will let you know when he needs to go outside.Buskin can get excited on leash when meeting new people, but he wants to greet everyone and be part of the fun! With ongoing training, he’s already learning to greet people more calmly and politely. Buskin has such a big, goofy personality and so much love to give. He is looking for a forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and truly part of the family.

Story
Meet Pinky, a handsome male German Shepherd with boundless energy, a playful spirit, and a heart that’s more than ready for a home of his own. Pinky has been waiting at the shelter since December 2025, and while he’s done his best to stay positive, it’s clear that kennel life just isn’t where he thrives.Pinky is very energetic and absolutely loves to play, run, and explore. He’s looking for a patient adopter with an active lifestyle—someone who’s excited to channel his enthusiasm into fun adventures, exercise, and continued training. With the right guidance, Pinky has all the potential to become an incredible partner for hikes, games, and daily movement. He’s friendly and eager to engage, though he can be a bit nervous when playing with other dogs, especially in the busy shelter environment. Given time, patience, and positive experiences, he’ll benefit greatly from a calmer setting where he can build confidence at his own pace. What Pinky wants most is simple: freedom to run, space to play, and a person who believes in him. If you’re ready for an energetic, loyal companion who would much rather be by your side than behind kennel doors, Pinky is waiting to start his next chapter with you.

Story
Hi there! I’m Zoe I might be a little shy when we first meet, but once I feel safe, my sweet and gentle personality really shines. I’ve been learning that the world can be a kind place, and every day I grow a little more confident. I love being part of a family . I do wonderfully in a home with kids, even with all the running, playing, and laughter. I’m calm, observant, and happiest when I know I belong. I’m also great with other dogs ! I enjoy playtime and do well in group settings. I’ve even helped a few nervous pups feel more comfortable just by being myself. Watching me come out of my shell has been pretty special. I settle into routines well, communicate my needs, and appreciate a home that lets me take things at my own pace. With patience, love, and understanding, I truly blossom . What I’m hoping for: A loving forever home A patient, kind human A calm environment where trust can grow If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a soft heart and a gentle soul, I might just be your girl . I’m ready to start my next chapter—could it be with you? Love,Zoe ##2529909##

This stunning 6-year-old shepherd is active, smart, and walks beautifully on a leash. He'd love an active family to keep busy and loved. In the shelter, she does seem to be stressed — when people walk by his kennel, she barks at some dogs and ignores others. Super friendly out in foster.  ##2574240##

Story
Gandalf - 57 lb, 3 years old, Shepherd mix. This poor guy was a stray; he was caught using a dog trap. He’s shut down in the shelter environment. He’ll need an experienced, patient handler who can help him to decompress and come out of his shell. Gandalf was evaluated by staff; key observations are as follows: Tolerates gentle petting on the head; shut down; shows limited social skills with people. Overall, appears under socialized and a flight risk! Leash walking is currently very uncomfortable; he will resist, yelp, and attempt to hide. Enjoyed spending time in the yard (on leash), tolerated people being present but does not show much enthusiasm or engagement. He did take treats gently from the handler. Tested well with another male (Coffee); they were able to sit in the grass together and relax. He was also introduced to a more energetic female dog, River. He initially growled at her but then was able to coexist and allow some curious sniffing. Any future introductions to other dogs should be slow and supervised. When returning to his kennel, Gandalf walked inside on his own to hide and allowed staff to remove his leash without issue. ##2604285##

Story
Introducing Roux: A 4-year-old Belgian Malinois mix with an old soul and a loyal heart   Roux asks for some patience with getting comfortable in new environments, but once you’re in his circle of trust, you’ll quickly learn that this dog is pure gold. Inside the home, Roux is the definition of polite. He’s calm, tidy, and has impeccable manners. He’ll quietly sit near you with his legs adorably crossed, checking in to see whether it’s cuddle time or independent time.  And if you’re busy? He’ll simply walk away and settle himself. He even sleeps peacefully in his own bed at night and won’t disturb you until you wake, then he’ll greet you with soft eyes and a happy tail.  He isn’t destructive, listens beautifully, and will stop barking the moment he’s asked. Truly, the goodest boy. Roux thrives with daily activity like walks, enrichment, and lots of play. His absolute favorite activity? Playing keep away with one of his stuffed toys! He even has his own fan club of shelter volunteers who love taking him for walks—his excitement and joy are contagious. A secure yard would be a dream for this boy to stretch his legs and enjoy his playful spirit. Because Roux communicates and explores the world with his mouth (gently, without pressure), he needs a home that understands and respects his communication style. He is ideally looking for the following environment:  &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143Adult-only household  &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143Experienced dog owner &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143Willing to be patient with Roux to earn his trust Roux has successfully lived with an 8 lb chiweenie, a senior corgi mix, and a senior pittie with proper introductions—proof he can absolutely coexist with the right canine companions. Once Roux bonds with you, he becomes deeply affectionate, loyal, and content. You may even find him sitting like a regal sentinel in a chair (his preferred throne), quietly watching over his home and the people he loves. Roux isn’t looking for just any adopter—he’s waiting for his person. Someone gentle, patient, kind, and willing to go slow. In return, he’ll give you unwavering companionship, connection, and a love that feels earned and extra special.  If you’re looking for a deeply devoted dog who will adore you once you’ve earned his trust, Roux might just be your soul dog.  Interested in meeting him?
