Story
Nina is an active 2yo 45lb border collie/german shepherd mix. She has a lot of personality and can be a total derp (tongue hanging out sideways and everything)! She's housebroken and crate trained, and walks amazing on the leash! She loves other dogs and is good with indoor cats. She is pretty high energy and enjoys going on hikes and playing with her canine siblings. She MUST go to a home where there is a resident confident adult medium-large dog (she worships the male german shepherd in her foster home but is best friends with a female Doberman the same age.. she's fine with small dogs but she's a bit too rambunctious for them). She has also discovered the comforts of the couch and loves to lay along the top and get petted while you watch movies. Because she can still be skittish with people though, she should NOT go to a home with children or apartment living (no exceptions!). She would do best in a gentle, quiet adult only home with another dog and a house with fenced yard. She has gained a lot of skills and confidence while in her foster home, but she is ready for the next chapter in her life with a new family that will continue to help her grow. Here is Nina’s story video: https://youtu.be/KxWGwurZVWk King is Nina’s companion/emotional support dog. He’s a 7-8yo purebred 75lb German Shepherd. Nina WORSHIPS him and is his shadow, follows him everywhere, and they even crate together. King is a mellow boy who prefers lounging in the house or on the couch. He would do best in a cat-free home.  They are not for first time dog owner, but when together they’re pretty easy. All they need is a couch and a yard.  Adoption fee for the two together will be $550. Nina can also be adopted by herself without King, however, we are requiring she go to a home that has another resident dog, and that she goes with a pal pup (either King or another known friend) for the first week during the transition phase, so that she doesn’t panic in a new home. Story
Sadie is a loyal ~2yo spayed 55 pound active small German Shepherd. She loves lots of affection, long walks and playing with her toys. She is a moderate energy dog, playful and active but also settles down nicely indoors by your feet. She is housetrained and sleeps in a crate.  She will need an active home that will keep her mentally and physically busy. She will chase cats that run. She needs proper intro to new dogs.   She is undersocialized and also needs continued training and structure. She needs continued socializing with other dogs and people (reactive in public). She would do best in a home with German Shepherd experience, as she can be insecure and also defensive/protective. She would do best with a single woman, or will need experienced handlers in a multi ADULT home (NO CHILDREN) who will be willing to commit to working on her socialization. NO APARTMENTS! Story
Foster, adopt, or foster-to-adopt Rocky. Rocky is a very handsome boy, intelligent and a quick learner!  This 5+ year-old already is house-trained, great on leash, dog- and cat-friendly, neutered, vaccinated, and healthy. Although Rocky was neglected and possibly abused in the first few years of his life, he wants to trust and love people when given the time and space that he needs to approach them at his own pace. Rocky loves car rides and the outdoors, and is great indoors. He is curious, smart, and makes a great companion to a dog-savvy person/family who can be kind and patient.  Rocky just needs to learn that it’s safe to relax and have fun, to be happy in our human-centric world.  Rocky is looking for a loving home with no children and a commitment to working with Rocky.  His family needs to provide him with adequate mental and physical enrichment and activities, help him build his confidence, and train him using force-free, positive, reward-based methods. This is crucial for lowering his fears and anxieties as well as avoiding situations that will stress him out or make him feel helpless and vulnerable. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Rocky, please reach out to Farah Ravon. Your kindness could unlock a world of joy and companionship with Rocky as your loyal friend! We will consider a foster, adopt, or foster-to-adopt arrangement. Link to our online application for foster or adopt: www.tinyurl.com/AdoptMeNowApril 13, 2024, 6:23 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Happy SeniorRocky is a 95 pound, neutered male senior German Shepherd Dog. Sweet Rocky loves his humans, his toys, and taking walks in his neighborhood. After many months in the shelter, this is the perfect life for this senior boy.   Like many German Shepherd senior dogs, Rocky has Degenerative Myelopathy, but he has a full life and experiences no pain from his condition. He takes an allergy pill daily, but needs no other ongoing medication.   Rocky is crate trained, house trained and walks well on leash. He loves to hang out in the back yard to monitor the birds and squirrels as well as the skydivers above his San Martin neighborhood!   Rocky prefers humans to other dogs, but he lives in peaceful cohabitation with his two 4-legged sisters. This gentle. loving boy deserves a quiet, loving home where he can share his snuggles and silly playtime for the remainder of his days. Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.   Adoption fees for dogs: http://www.svpetproject.org/info/adoption Stay up-to-date on what our dogs are up to by following us on Facebook!  https://www.facebook.com/svpetprojectVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 3:58 pm

Story
Titus is an affectionate 11 year old vision impaired male who adores people of all ages.  He does well with the teens in the foster home as well as a younger child who visits.  Titus is easy going and relaxed around other dogs, calmly greeting them with a wagging tail and sniffs.  This laid back guy loves to spend his day lounging about and napping on his soft pillow.  Although he has free access to the backyard at his foster home, he looks forward to short morning and evening walks.  He may move slowly, but he is a model citizen on leash.  When he isn't sooozing, Titus enjoys chewing on his toys.  This eager-to-please pup is the perfect choice for a family with a relaxed lifestyle.   ##1235821##

Story
Gizmo is a stunning 10 year old male who enjoys hiking.  We suspect that he may be younger based on how athletic he is.  This curious boy wants to learn about everything his humans do.  He appreciates the opportunity to sniff new things that he doesn’t yet understand.  Gizmo enjoys being with other dogs, and although he can be selective, he politely shares his favorite toys with his furry foster sister.  Above all, Gizmo’s tender heart desires to be close to his leader and to please the ones he loves.  If his human disappears from his eyesight, he quickly jumps up to find them.  Gizmo will make a wonderful companion and adventure buddy for an active adopter with large dog expereince.   Please check out Gizmo's video: https://youtu.be/H2f7X8CTpqw ##1460734##
