You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Happy SeniorRocky is a 78 pound, neutered male senior German Shepherd Dog. Sweet Rocky loves his humans, his toys, and taking walks in his neighborhood. After many months in the shelter, this is the perfect life for this senior boy.   Like many German Shepherd senior dogs, Rocky has Degenerative Myelopathy, but he has a full life and experiences no pain from his condition. He takes an allergy pill daily, but needs no other ongoing medication.   Rocky is crate trained, house trained and walks well on leash. He loves to hang out in the back yard to monitor the birds and squirrels as well as the skydivers above his San Martin neighborhood!   Rocky prefers humans to other dogs, but he lives in peaceful cohabitation with his two 4-legged sisters. This gentle. loving boy deserves a quiet, loving home where he can share his snuggles and silly playtime for the remainder of his days. Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.   Adoption fees for dogs: http://www.svpetproject.org/info/adoption Stay up-to-date on what our dogs are up to by following us on Facebook!  https://www.facebook.com/svpetprojectVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 2, 2023, 7:33 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Happy Tripawed Puppy!Coco is an almost 1 year-old German Shepherd Dog who weighs approximately 71lbs.  Coco is just a sweet sweet dog. Curious, goofy, loving, and energetic - he loves everyone, and sees the best in them. Coco came to SV Pet Project with a lame right foot and needed multiple surgeries, first to remove a benign tumor, and then a full amputation of the right leg. Coco has adapted quickly to being an amazing tripawed pup.  Throughout Coco's medical treatments, his sweetness, friendliness, and gentle nature have continued to shine! Coco currently lives with two older 4-legged brothers and, while he would love to live with a fur-sibling, he is not part of a bonded pair. As long as he has fur friends to play with, Coco will be a happy boy! When playing with his human pals, in typical puppy fashion Coco can be a bit jumpy and mouthy, but that's easily addressed with a firm voice and a 15 minute walk :-) He's very verbally responsive and wants to please. Sweet Coco has been perfectly house trained since day one, is crate trained, loves car rides, and while he has not had much opportunity to practice his leash manners, he loves to go for walks and is learning not to pull in excitement when he meets new friends - that is Everyone! Coco knows the benefit of "Sit" to get his favorite treats, and will benefit from continued positive reinforcement training. Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.   Adoption fees for dogs: http://www.svpetproject.org/info/adoption Stay up-to-date on what our dogs are up to by following us on Facebook!  https://www.facebook.com/svpetproject Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 2, 2023, 7:33 pm

Story
Nina is an active 2yo 45lb border collie/german shepherd mix. She has a lot of personality and can be a total derp (tongue hanging out sideways and everything)! She's housebroken and crate trained, and walks amazing on the leash! She loves other dogs and is good with indoor cats. She is pretty high energy and enjoys going on hikes and playing with her canine siblings. She MUST go to a home where there is a resident confident adult medium-large dog (she worships the male german shepherd in her foster home but is best friends with a female Doberman the same age.. she's fine with small dogs but she's a bit too rambunctious for them). She has also discovered the comforts of the couch and loves to lay along the top and get petted while you watch movies. Because she can still be skittish with people though, she should NOT go to a home with children or apartment living (no exceptions!). She would do best in a gentle, quiet adult only home with another dog and a house with fenced yard. She has gained a lot of skills and confidence while in her foster home, but she is ready for the next chapter in her life with a new family that will continue to help her grow. Here is Nina’s story video: https://youtu.be/KxWGwurZVWk King is Nina’s companion/emotional support dog. He’s a 7-8yo purebred 75lb German Shepherd. Nina WORSHIPS him and is his shadow, follows him everywhere, and they even crate together. King is a mellow boy who prefers lounging in the house or on the couch. He would do best in a cat-free home.  They are not for first time dog owner, but when together they’re pretty easy. All they need is a couch and a yard.  Adoption fee for the two together will be $550. Nina can also be adopted by herself without King, however, we are requiring she go to a home that has another resident dog, and that she goes with a pal pup (either King or another known friend) for the first week during the transition phase, so that she doesn’t panic in a new home. Story
Sadie is a loyal ~2yo spayed 55 pound active small German Shepherd. She loves lots of affection, long walks and playing with her toys. She is a moderate energy dog, playful and active but also settles down nicely indoors by your feet. She is housetrained and sleeps in a crate.  She will need an active home that will keep her mentally and physically busy. She will chase cats that run. She needs proper intro to new dogs.   She is undersocialized and also needs continued training and structure. She needs continued socializing with other dogs and people (reactive in public). She would do best in a home with German Shepherd experience, as she can be insecure and also defensive/protective. She would do best with a single woman, or will need experienced handlers in a multi ADULT home (NO CHILDREN) who will be willing to commit to working on her socialization. NO APARTMENTS! Please contact Diana at (510) 333-4420 or theperfectdogrescue@gmail.com or fill out the adoption application:  http://www.theperfectdog.org/TPDadoptapp.doc May 30, 2023, 12:08 am

Enjoys the Dog Parks and long walks with treats. Still learning to do new tricks. Canela is potty trained, will not use the restroom in the cement floor. Good with middle school aged kids or younger if suppervised. Canela is not trained to be well with cats but She's willing to learn. Other Playful dogs ok. Pulls on leash, would benefit, from loose-leash walking exercises. HIGH ENERGY Pup. She does have a loud bark, but that's only if something catches her attention or if she wants to play with you. Anyone willing to go on long hikes, or walks/ runs. SHE'S THE PERFECT PUP for you. She's Spayed, and Shots up to date.
