Story
Sadie is a loyal ~2yo spayed 55 pound active small German Shepherd. She loves lots of affection, long walks and playing with her toys. She is a moderate energy dog, playful and active but also settles down nicely indoors by your feet. She is housetrained and sleeps in a crate.  She will need an active home that will keep her mentally and physically busy. She will chase cats that run. She needs proper intro to new dogs.   She is undersocialized and also needs continued training and structure. She needs continued socializing with other dogs and people (reactive in public). She would do best in a home with German Shepherd experience, as she can be insecure and also defensive/protective. She would do best with a single woman, or will need experienced handlers in a multi ADULT home (NO CHILDREN) who will be willing to commit to working on her socialization. NO APARTMENTS! Please contact Diana at (510) 333-4420 or theperfectdogrescue@gmail.com or fill out the adoption application:  http://www.theperfectdog.org/TPDadoptapp.doc November 1, 2024, 3:09 pm

Story
Nina is a 6-7yo 45lb border collie/german shepherd mix. She is a quirky girl and is also semi-FERAL. She's housebroken and crate trained, and walks amazing on the leash! She loves other dogs and is good with indoor cats. She is pretty high energy and enjoys going on hikes and playing with her canine siblings. She MUST go to a home where there is a resident confident adult medium-large dog. She has also discovered the comforts of the couch and loves to lay along the top and get petted while you watch movies. Because she can still be skittish with people though, she should NOT go to a home with children or apartment living (no exceptions!). She would do best in a gentle, quiet adult only home, with another dog(s) and a house with fenced yard. She has gained a lot of skills and confidence while in her foster home, but she is ready for the next chapter in her life with a new family that will continue to help her grow. She is a DOG’s companion, not a human’s companion. Here is Nina’s story video: https://youtu.be/KxWGwurZVWk She is not for first time dog owner, but all she needs is to live with another dog(s), a couch, and a yard. Story
Meet Sofia! Sofia is a sweet and energetic 7-month-old puppy, about 80% German Shepherd and 20% Siberian Husky. We adopted her from the San Martin shelter when she was just 9 weeks old. She loves playing fetch, visiting the dog park, and people-watching from the porch. True to her Shepherd roots, Sofia is incredibly smart, alert, and loyal. She’s also got a silly side—she loves to wedge herself under furniture or tables, a little denning habit that’s typical of her breed mix. Sofia is great with kids and loves to play with other dogs. She knows how to sit and is eager to learn more, but would benefit from formal puppy training classes. She's curious, full of energy, and ready to explore the world. We haven’t had a chance to start training yet, as she was only recently cleared for full activity after finishing her vaccinations. If you’re looking for a loyal adventure buddy with a playful streak, Sofia might be your girl! Feel free to reach out with any questions.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Coco – Your Gentle Giant of Joy! Breed: German Shepherd Mix Age: 3 years old &#226&#154&#150&#239&#184&#143 Weight: 78 lbs Looking for a loyal, goofy, and love-filled companion? Meet Coco, a sweet and gentle soul who’s full of curiosity and affection. With his warm heart and playful energy, Coco brings sunshine into every room he enters. Coco is a social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and loves having fur-siblings to romp around with. Though he isn’t bonded to his current foster brothers, he thrives in a home with fellow four-legged friends and would be overjoyed to have a playmate or two. He’s smart, eager to please, and has recently completed clicker training with Stacy Braslau-Schneck of Stacy’s Wag’nTrain – helping him focus even in distracting or stressful situations. Coco already knows several commands and enjoys interactive play that challenges both his body and brain. When he gets a little too excited, this clever boy knows just what to do – he tucks himself under the kitchen table for a self-imposed time-out to recharge. Coco is completely house-trained, loves car rides, and is working on walking politely on a leash (he just can’t help wanting to greet everyone he sees!). Despite his size and age, he doesn’t need long hikes to burn energy – two short walks a day and playtime with pup pals are plenty for this balanced boy. If you’re looking for a dog who sees the best in everyone, has a heart full of love, and a personality that keeps you smiling, Coco might just be your perfect match. Are you ready to meet your new best friend? Coco is waiting to meet you! Story
Welcome, Cash, from our Country litter! Cash, his 3 siblings, and Mama Wynonna recently joined our LUVing family from Mexicali, where their beautiful mama gave birth to them in a small office space before being rescued. We believe these beautiful, happy, and healthy puppies are around 3 months old, Shepherd x Boxer mixes. These LUVS are exactly the kind of "Mexicali specials" that make amazing dogs — a little tough, a little soft, full of heart, and super adaptable. You can already tell they have gorgeous temperaments from how soulful and thoughtful their expressions are. Cash has the Sweetheart Goofball vibe. That head tilt and softness in the face! His soulful, expressive eyes. You can already see he and his siblings' old souls shining through those baby faces. Expect a few cute forehead wrinkles when he's concentrating. Brooks will be the dog that makes you laugh every day; he's a very affectionate pup who likes to cuddle, wants belly rubs, and will probably “talk” to you with silly sounds. He'll be your "ride or die" dog. More about your future LUV: Medium to Large Size Smart, loyal, people-focused personalities As adults, they’ll still have puppy-like spurts of zoomies. Big into chase games, tug, and wrestling with each other or other dogs. They'll be quick learners for commands, especially if you make it a game. Soft and careful around kids, other dogs, and even cats, if raised with them. Exercise needs: 1–2 good walks a day + brain games to keep them satisfied. Love jobs: They'll love having a “purpose” — even simple ones like carrying a toy, "guarding" the house, learning tricks. All Mutt Luv Rescue pups receive a full health checkup, heartworm and parasite testing, are fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before adoption. Ready to fall in LUV? Story
I’m currently homeless. And I wouldn’t want to give my Luna away, but I’m doing this because it what’s best for both of us. She’s been with me since she was a baby and knows many commands. She is very playful and sweet. And can be protective. She knows how to listen well. And is potty trained or she will let you know that she needs to go since she will wait at the door. She’s 5 now and she was born in February 5. I just hope that wherever she goes it’s somewhere that she’s taken care of of, loved, and where she can continue to live out the rest of her life.
