PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.The results from Lenny’s DNA test are in! He is very mixed with several breeds including German Shepherd, pit, Great Pyrenees, and many others.  Lenny had a very rough start to life but thankfully a kind soul looked out for him and saved his life! &#226&#128&#188&#239&#184&#143Please share Lenny&#226&#128&#188&#239&#184&#143 His perfect forever home will include a physically active family with fellow high energy dog or dogs to play with. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog, Lenny is your man!! He is cat friendly but may require redirection from trying to play with them. Lenny loves everyone. He hasn’t been around kids but we think he’d be fine with them. He would never intentionally hurt a small child but could inadvertently do so out of excitement and lack of self awareness to his size. &#226&#156&#133He’s highly trainable and eager to please. He thrives on instruction, praise, and affection. He follows the “sit” command for treats. He is house trained! 1&#239&#184&#143&#226&#131&#163 About a year old. Very mixed with several breeds…Heinz 57 (the best breed there is)! He’s neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His story-He had no idea he was essentially knocking on death’s door. His whole body a snack for multiple parasitic moochers, inside and out. He was physically and emotionally malnourished. Despite all of that he repeatedly greeted me with enthusiasm, tail wags, and smiles. I tried caring for him remotely at first. It wasn’t long before he started following me to my car and begging me to take him with me. I soon did just that. Throughout the months of dedication to healing his body, his personality blossomed and shined even brighter than before. Now proudly wearing his physical health, he has the freedom to focus on other things. Things like toys, treats, typical puppy mayhem, and forever. He constantly amazes me with his sunny disposition and the temperament of an angel. He independently claimed the role of big brother and babysitter to younger foster pups. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Snoopy is AMAZING with all other dogs. He gets along great with every dog he has met. He loves to play with other dogs. If you’re looking for a friend for your current dog, he’d be a great choice. He is great with kids! Very good leash manners! Enjoys car rides and rides like a good boy! My favorite….SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT Crate trained, almost house trained. Loves toys. Typical puppy in that he wants to steal things like slippers or socks from the laundry basket. Medium energy level. Very go with the flow personality. Neutered, microchipped, UTD on vaccines, on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. About 6 months old (estimated DOB 11/15/23) and weighs about 40 pounds. *A DNA test done on one of his littermates shows 55% German Shepherd, 28% Staffordshire Terrier, 9% American Pit Bull, 5% Plott Hound, 2% Border Collie, 1% Chihuahua!   He is a wonderful boy and more than ready to find his forever home. Story
Leon is a 3 years old, September. I rescued him at 6 months old. He has separation anxiety and whines quite a lot if left unattended. Very vocal when it comes to wanting attention or on guard to protect household. We are expecting in October and will be unable to give him the dedication he deserves. With a household of 2 small children, baby on the way and 2 parents working full time. We have our hands full. We find ourselves not being able to give him the attention he needs. Looking for an experienced adopter who specializes in rescues and/or special needs required. Someone willing to dedicate time. Leon tries to be the alpha in the household. Stern love and physical affection, rough play dog. He is very sweet and loving but requires a lot of physical attention and physical activity. Adoption fee up for discussion, just looking for someone to not give up on him and provide happy healthy home.

Story
Caesar is a big baby, he loves attention and is extremely smart. He knows basic commands. Due to a job change I do not have much time for him and he is high energy. He can be reactive when I get him out but he has responded well to a training collar. He is fine with the 5 lb Yorkie poo that is in the home. He is good with kids but he does like to jump up and he is bigger than my kids so sometimes he knocks them down. He deserves a good home that can give him the attention he needs. He is scheduled to be neutered in May and will get his rabies vaccine. Unknown vaccine history other than that

Story
This remarkable dog was discovered abandoned in a rural area where he had endured exposure to the rain for an indeterminate period. Concerned passersby initially suspected he was injured, but upon my arrival, he eagerly hopped into my car and indulged in an entire box of treats. He's proven to be the most entertaining, affectionate, and intelligent companion I've ever encountered. His teeth bear the marks of neglect rather than age-related wear, and we estimate his age to be around 4-5 years. He adores car rides, and walks, and remains a loyal, dependable companion who never strays far. He is fully house-trained, adept at using a pet door, and gets along famously with other dogs. One of his ears has a distinctive appearance due to a past illness or injury that went untreated, but our vet has addressed it, and it appears to be in good condition now, although it will retain its unique appearance. If you're interested in welcoming Knuckles or any of our Funny Farm friends into your home, please visit funnyfarmpets.org to learn more about our Tennessee-based rescue, the adoption process, the comprehensive vetting procedures these pets undergo before they come to your home, and to submit an adoption application. The adoption fee for this pet is $325, and an additional $200 is required for transport. Currently located in a foster home in Tennessee, this pet will be transported to a northern location after the adoption process is finalized. For details on meeting locations and the transport process, please visit the transport tab at funnyfarmpets.org.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!UPDATE 3/5/2024:  Buddy is having some issues being 'stiff' but as long as you don't have stairs he does great.  He does guard his toys but if you do a trade with a snack he will give them up :)  Looking for a GS experienced ownerUPDATE:  Buddy is looking fantastic!!  He is a little 'stiff' in his old age but I told him its OK so am I!  He LOVES attention, he likes his toys and he is great with the dogs although I think he would be just as happy as an only dog he does fine with all the dogs here at the ranch :)I can only imagine how Buddy must have felt...  Like no one cared, defeated, ready to give up, a banquet for fleas and tics :(  It took us quite a while to get him back to health and still he deals with ear infections from repeated ones not being treated :(  No worries now big man you are loved and valued!Buddy you have your 2nd Chance and we are going to give you an amazing life!!REQUIRES FENCED YARD!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!May 2, 2024, 12:27 pm
