Story
Honey is a 4 year old Great Pyrenees with a heart of gold and eyes that look into your soul. She had a rough life before she found a soft landing with Dirt Road Doggies. She was used a breeding dog and then dumped and left to starve. In typical Great Pyrenees fashion, she is protective of her area so we suggest she be an only dog. She may improve with training as we think she was left to defend her puppies in the past. She's a laid back girl and would love a fenced in back yard where she could hang and watch the squirrels all day!  ##1811730##

Story
Jasper is a 3.5 year old male Great Pyrenees and we adopted him 2 years ago at Great Pyrenees rescue Atlanta. He is energetic and playful, he will do great at a family with a large backyard, with no other dog and young children(but he does awesome with teenagers! He isn’t aggressive to young children, it’s just that he is 140lbs, younger children don’t bare his force well during play). We found out that he has addison’s disease and is getting percorten V injection every month to keep him in a healthy condition, the continuing medical expenses should be carefully considered for anyone who wants to adopt him. Jasper needs an experienced owner, He is potty trained but need consistent behavior training ongoing basis. If you are able to work with him he can be a great companion!

Story
Bella was rescued from a family who were keeping her in the backyard neglectfully without no or very minimum interactions. She scared and very timid when we rescued her to our home. She would not even go to the next room cause she was not allowed anywhere else beside her shade in her previos home. We rescued her a week ago and she is already very playful and open. She does have to be pushed to do new things because she is scared to try new things. After you push her to do it, she quickly adjust and does it by herself the next time. This things happened when she wont even climb the stairs. She goes along very well with my pitbull and is very friendly with new people. She growls when she does not want to go to new place ( cause she kept inside all her life)but she does not bite. She is loving and want attention from people she loves.

Story
Meet Rembrandt. This gentle giant is a little shy to start with, but we are confident that with some time and patience, he will be a gem of a companion. Rembrandt is still new to us so we are still learning all about his gentle ways. Unfortunately, Rembrandt came to the Forsyth County Pet Resource Center heartworm positive, but the good news is that we will provide the necessary treatment for him at no additional cost to you! While Rembrandt is undergoing heartworm treatment, he will be placed in our Foster-to-Adopt (FTA) program so that you can start bonding with your new pet and give him a calm place to get better! Heartworm treatment is very safe, and the success rate is high, and the Pet Resource Center prefers for dogs like Rembrandt to recover in a home with an adopter rather than in a shelter. If you want to learn more about Rembrandt and how the FTA process works, please stop by or call us at 678-965-7185!

Story
Meet Saul - Hi everyone! My name is Saul, and I am a 4-year old Great Pyrenees with the whitest coat around! I currently weigh around 99 pounds, and I am fully grown. Everyone here says I am the biggest cuddle bug around. I love all people and will let you pet me whenever you want as I thrive off of human interaction. When I see you approaching me, I will let out a low howl to show off my excitement. I DO NOT like other dogs or cats. I have been briefly tested on a leash with goats and chickens and I was ok, but we do not know how I would do once I get comfortable. I have the best leash manners as I do not pull and will walk right beside you at a slow pace (I like to take my time). I am however VERY leash reactive when taking a walk if other animals are around, as I don't like them. I do like to keep my kennel clean, but that's because I am a gentleman. I love being outside and will lay out in the sun and take a nap all day if you let me. I do have a lot of fur, but I don't mind being brushed at all - it makes me look even cuter! I am very protective of my people and will guard you. I need to have a large fenced-in area, maybe even a farm, but I also love a family to spend time with inside. My ideal home would be with an experienced Great Pyrenees dog owner who is a strong dog handler, that way I can thrive in my new home and be set up for success. If you are interested in learning more about me, please stop by the Humane Society of Forsyth County, Tuesday through Thursday between 11 am and 5 pm and Friday and Saturday between 1 pm to 5 pm. I will be waiting patiently to greet you! Love, Saul!

Story
He is a super sweet boy around the age of 1 year old. He is Great Pyrenees and completely white in color. He loves loves to walk, play with other dogs and good with kids. Unknown on the cat part and doesn’t seem to have a prey instinct at all. He would need to be in a home with a fenced in yard and he isn’t fond of a dog crate at all. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
