Story
Updated shots: June 15, 2024. He is more socialized. GIacier was adopted fromanimal shelter on July 3, 2023. I got to keep my other dog company. My son picked out a big dog, but it worked. The dogs get along, last picture. When we first got him, he was very friendly to others. Company would cone over and pet him and we would take him to the farmers market where kids and others would come pet him. Because of our busy scedhule during the school year, I or the kids have not had time to take him out or socialize. Now that i am able to take him for walks he barks at people. He is very protective. While walking a man was too close to me and Glacier scratched him. As i said very protective. But at home, he plays ball with my other dog in the house or back yard, runs around but pretty much lays around and watches tv next to me. He is a great dog, but I dont have time to give him the attention he needs and he is very big. He does shed but that can be minimized with brishing 2-3 times a week.

Story
Honey is a 4 year old Great Pyrenees with a heart of gold and eyes that look into your soul. She had a rough life before she found a soft landing with Dirt Road Doggies. She was used a breeding dog and then dumped and left to starve. In typical Great Pyrenees fashion, she is protective of her area so we suggest she be an only dog. She may improve with training as we think she was left to defend her puppies in the past. She's a laid back girl and would love a fenced in back yard where she could hang and watch the squirrels all day!  ##1811730##

Story
Meet Saul - Hi everyone! My name is Saul, and I am a 4-year old Great Pyrenees with the whitest coat around! I currently weigh around 99 pounds, and I am fully grown. Everyone here says I am the biggest cuddle bug around. I love all people and will let you pet me whenever you want as I thrive off of human interaction. When I see you approaching me, I will let out a low howl to show off my excitement. I DO NOT like other dogs or cats. I have been briefly tested on a leash with goats and chickens and I was ok, but we do not know how I would do once I get comfortable. I have the best leash manners as I do not pull and will walk right beside you at a slow pace (I like to take my time). I am however VERY leash reactive when taking a walk if other animals are around, as I don't like them. I do like to keep my kennel clean, but that's because I am a gentleman. I love being outside and will lay out in the sun and take a nap all day if you let me. I do have a lot of fur, but I don't mind being brushed at all - it makes me look even cuter! I am very protective of my people and will guard you. I need to have a large fenced-in area, maybe even a farm, but I also love a family to spend time with inside. My ideal home would be with an experienced Great Pyrenees dog owner who is a strong dog handler, that way I can thrive in my new home and be set up for success. If you are interested in learning more about me, please stop by the Humane Society of Forsyth County, Tuesday through Thursday between 11 am and 5 pm and Friday and Saturday between 1 pm to 5 pm. I will be waiting patiently to greet you! Love, Saul!

Story
He is a super sweet boy around the age of 1 year old. He is Great Pyrenees and completely white in color. He loves loves to walk, play with other dogs and good with kids. Unknown on the cat part and doesn’t seem to have a prey instinct at all. He would need to be in a home with a fenced in yard and he isn’t fond of a dog crate at all. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
Meet Polly Pockets, the furry ball of energy who will melt your heart and fill your life with joy! Polly is a 2-3-year-old pup who is looking for her forever home. She's a big girl, weighing in at 60 pounds, but don't let her size fool you - she's a big puppy at heart! Polly is a bundle of fun and loves nothing more than playing with other dogs and people. Her playful antics are sure to keep you entertained all day long! Her funny personality will have you in stitches as she bounces around with endless enthusiasm. But, like any young pup, she needs to learn some manners, so she would benefit from some training to help her channel her energy and excitement. This smart girl is very food-motivated and loves learning new things. With some guidance and training, she'll be the star of any obedience class! She's already crate-trained, so you won't have to worry about that. But be warned - she's so lovable, you might find it hard to say no to those puppy dog eyes! Polly loves walks and car rides, so you'll enjoy exploring the great outdoors together. With her by your side, every day is an adventure waiting to happen. So, if you're looking for a loving, playful, and high-energy companion, look no further than Polly Pockets!        An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online.  http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms     Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions.
