Story
Meet Nellie Nellie, a Great Pyrenees, joined BAARK when her owner was no longer able to care for himself, much less her. As such, she was in pretty rough physical condition when she was surrendered, but clearly had received plenty of attention and love. Nellie is estimated to be 7-8 years old and weighs about 80 lbs. When meeting new people, Nellie is a little shy at first. We believe that this is because she had very little exposure to new people when with her previous owner. However, in her foster home, with patience and, in following the lead of her new canine friends, Nellie has really blossomed. She now gives kisses and lots of tail wags when her foster mom and dad get home from work. She gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes. In typical Great Pyr fashion, she loves patrolling the fence line and she is especially in tune to large birds flying overhead. Her foster family appreciates her level of alert, as Nellie watches over her much smaller foster brother and sisters in the home. Nellie is housebroken and is just fine being un-crated at home by herself. Nellie joined our rescue organization back in June. She is just becoming available for adoption as she has a long recovery from a mass removal on her paw pad (benign). She has 3 toes on that paw but gets around just fine. Nellie is in overall great health. She’s spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventative. Story
Meet Biscuit Biscuit is a beautiful Great Pyrenees-Lab mix with expressive golden eyes. He is estimated to be 4 years old, weighing in at 77 lbs. He’s in great shape and is an overall wonderful dog. Although a mix of two active breeds, Biscuit is a fairly calm, very sweet dog. He’s shown himself to be very smart and a very quick learner. He is housebroken and walks very nicely on a leash, alone and also along with his canine housemate. He’s great with other dogs and wonderful with people too. We do not know how he is with cats. Biscuit enjoys playing ball in his secure, fenced yard but is not interested in other toys. Typical of the Great Pyrenees breed, Biscuit is somewhat protective of his foster home and family, and, like a watchdog, alerts his foster to potential threats by barking. However once he is aware of the situation and sees it as non-threatening, he will welcome any stranger! An ideal family for Biscuit is one with large-dog, preferably Great Pyrenees or Labrador Retriever experience, a secure fenced yard, and the time to spend training Biscuit to evolve into the best version of himself. Older children should be ok but because of his size and enthusiasm, he could be too much dog for a younger child. Biscuit is fully vetted, up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. Story
We are on the payroll for loads of petting! That’s a pretty easy gig if you want our opinion. We went to a couple of community event and were told we both did a great job interacting with people of all ages and doggies. We were very patient with everyone and even got to spend some time relaxing in people’s lap. So we can’t wait to join a family, maybe even getting adopted with my sibling. Sonny is a gentle giant. I love him but my wife is having trouble balancing the care for Sonny and working from home. Sonny is a very relax dog he sleeps around 12 hours a day. However if you have kids or other pets in the household he would enjoy the additional energy. He loves walks. Sonny is a natural protector. He has a very strong bark and loves to watch over family members when he senses danger. Since he is a guardian you have to introduce foreign non household guest to him so he can get comfortable with the new visitor. Sonny Information Birthdate - 12/27/2021
