Story
We adoped Otis, our young gorgeous huskey mix whom we dearly love about a year ago when he was 6 months old. He is extremely sensitive about being touched around his neck. He has bitten several people who have inadvertently touched him in that place. We have tried different trainers, including a behavioral therapist and a boarding/training, who have helped, but who haven't been able to reach him permanently and it has not stopped his occasional reactionary bites. While Otis is often well-behaved, he may have a neurological problem that contributes to his unpredictability. My partner was recently diagnosed with cancer which has added a considerable amount of stress to our house, something that I am sure has impacted Otis as well. We have now made the heartbreaking decision to rehome Otis. ONLY experienced dog owners should apply with previous experience managing dogs like this, also should have space to run.

Story
This gorgeous girl is so lucky to be alive! We were driving down a busy four lane highway when we spotted her run across the highway barely missing getting run down by a large box truck. She ran into the parking lot of a Dollar General so we immediately pulled into the parking lot and luckily she ran up to our van and jumped right in! We tried and tried to find her owner but to no avail. It's hard to see in the pics but she has one blue eye and one golden eye. We suspect she had a little Husky in her but we did a DNA anyway, lots and lots of breeds in her DNA, including 5% Chihuahua! She's a super mutt! Clarice is spayed, fully vaccinated, crate trained and microchipped. She is available for immediate transport PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $600

Story
Parker Blue is a very good looking 3 years old Husky/Shepherd mix boy who is approximately 65 pounds and a fun dog to have in your life.  His owner recently died and sadly no one in the family wanted him and now they want him either gone or they will shoot him.  True fact.  He’s very friendly, walks on a lead, good with other dogs, but no cats, birds or rabbits, etc.  Parker Blue has never been around kids under 12 yrs old but was good with the older ones.  This poor boy was shown lots of attention and loved by his person who passed away.  Now he is outside and he used to live inside.  The family is impatient and truly will do harm in a permanent way if he is not gone soon. We can tell his feelings are hurt and he doesn’t understand why he’s on a tie-out and can no longer go in his home or see his dad. How awful that is.  We are pleading for Parker Blue to have a chance to love you and your family.  Critter Cavalry Rescue would greatly appreciate assistance with Parker Blue. Time is running out and he needs to find a temporary foster home or a forever home.   Can you help bring this boy to a safe place?  Please contact  ccrnewengland@gmail.com  if you can assist PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 2, 2024, 9:09 am

Story
If you are looking for a very calm and beautiful dog, then Autumn is truly one to seriously consider for your lifestyle and family.  This girl is a Husky mix with the wonderful attributes of both Husky and a Lab it seems.  She is a young 2-3 year old  girl that is only 50 pounds and full of sweetness and an easy going personality.  This girl is in a small town, small shelter that has kennels that are 4X6” if that big.  She should be out of an environment like that, enjoying the freedom to roam a backyard or dog park and to be someone’s serious sidekick full of love and adoration for their owner.  This girl is a true treasure.  Can you consider helping at least get her out of the shelter?  If you want to foster to adopt then Critter Cavalry Rescue can support that as well.  We will have her fully vetted and ready for a new start in a foster or a forever home.  Friendly with all other dogs and adoring of people, this girl is not shy nor emotionally damaged.  Just abandoned sadly and found as a stray.  She doesn’t deserve to stay for months on end at this shelter.  Help Autumn get out of a shelter hell.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  and please mention where you live when inquiring. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 2, 2024, 9:09 am

Story
** I am currently being housed at our New York Avenue location. Come meet me at 1201 New York Avenue NE, every day from 12pm-7pm. Please arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. to allow ample time to interact with adoptable dogs. Or visit humanerescuealliance.org/how-to-adopt to learn more. Hilly was not feeling too silly when he was found as a sad stray. He was covered in his own waste, and he was terribly thin. Clearly, this innocent angel had been suffering but we promised him to help him recover from this stressful situation. Hilly is now gaining weight and he is making friends with all the staff and volunteers. And he is soaking up all the affection. He is just a wonderful dog! He is now more than ready for an active adopter who wants a mover and shaker type pooch to take on fun adventures. He is just a lover boy and so friendly. Hilly would love a home where he is engaged and kept busy. Given his breed, he may be way too interested in small animals so slow intros will be needed. And speaking of his breed, he is a shedding machine so keep that dog hairbrush as well as your vacuum cleaner ready. Ready for an active pup that will bring you joy? Meet Hilly soon!
