Story
We adoped Otis, our young gorgeous huskey mix whom we dearly love about a year ago when he was 6 months old. He is extremely sensitive about being touched around his neck. He has bitten several people who have inadvertently touched him in that place. We have tried different trainers, including a behavioral therapist and a boarding/training, who have helped, but who haven't been able to reach him permanently and it has not stopped his occasional reactionary bites. While Otis is often well-behaved, he may have a neurological problem that contributes to his unpredictability. My partner was recently diagnosed with cancer which has added a considerable amount of stress to our house, something that I am sure has impacted Otis as well. We have now made the heartbreaking decision to rehome Otis. ONLY experienced dog owners should apply with previous experience managing dogs like this, also should have space to run.

Story
My name is Astra and my sister and I, both landed in a shelter that is run by some very nice people.  They have reached out to Critter Cavalry Rescue to ask for help getting us out and in to a foster or forever home.  We do not have to go together but we are both very sweet 5 month old, 19 pound Husky/Aussie mix girls who are very happy and loving.  We need a nice active life with a couple, a single athletic person, or a family with children would be great too!  My coat of fur is super soft like an Aussie and my pretty ears stand up like the Husky breed.  I am going to be a 50-55 pound girl when I grow up and I bet I get lots of attention when you take me on walks.  I am ready for a new life with a fenced yard and lots of people for me to love!  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested and please tell them where you live…city and state.  ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 12, 2024, 9:37 pm

Story
Have you ever seen such an unusual Husky as this girl we call, Beautiful Berkley?   She looks like a cross between a Husky and a Wolf but that is all circumstantial but she sure does have that smoky, mysterious Wolf look to her face.  Her blue eyes definitely anchor her heritage in the Husky breed and she is young at just 2.5 years of age and 65 pounds.  This girl might look serious and formidable but she is a true lover who wants to romp and play fetch and then roll over for belly rubs and then will give you a kiss for treating to such special attention.  This girl has energy as you might expect from a young Husky.  She needs an exercise oriented human who can provide her with a fenced yard and who will work with time to play together.  Beautiful Berkley is wonderful with children and other dogs but does have the Husky prey drive and we will not allow her to go to a home with any cats at all.  We are so excited at what lies around the corner for Beautiful Berkley.  If you are interested in her please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 12, 2024, 9:37 pm

Story
Danica is a gorgeous Husky/Aussie mix girl with the wonderful blue eyes and riveting beauty that touches everyone’s soul when they meet her.  She landed in a small town Kentucky shelter that has a euthanization rate and we feared for her life.  Found at a Pizza place on a busy highway her owner was contacted and he opted not to come pick her up so off to the shelter she went.  She was fortunately pulled from the shelter and now has the most wonderful opportunity to gain the perfect  home and family that Critter Cavalry Rescue has promised to find. This is young 1-2 year old girl that weighs about 45 pounds and is a perfect medium size.  She is fabulous with people and seems to do well with other dogs.  We have not cat tested her.  She is housebroken, learning the leash so 50/50 in that category of being good.  She is smart as a whip and eager to learn and be taught things.  She is a true beauty that would make any family or person proud to call their own.  If you are interested, please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 12, 2024, 9:37 pm

Story
** I am currently being housed at our New York Ave location. Come meet me at 1201 New York Ave NE, every day between 12pm-7pm. Please arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. to allow ample time to interact with adoptable dogs. Or visit humanerescuealliance.org/how-to-adopt to learn more. Shinobi Blu is a total stunner, and lucky for you, she's looking for a wonderful new home! Shinobi is a young, active girl with so much love to give. She was found as a stray, and despite being brought to a strange, new place, she's been so sweet with everyone she's met. The shelter has been stressful for her though and she really wants to bust out of here - can we blame her? Shinobi deserves a loving home where she can go on long walks or run around safely. She is so pretty but she is a shedding machine so keep that dog hairbrush close by as well as your vacuum cleaner ready. Ready for an active pup that will bring you joy? If this beautiful girl sounds like a good match, please come say hi!
