Story
Mira is an almost 10 year old Siberian Husky. I've had her since 8 weeks. She used to be a high energy dog, but has slowed down considerably in the last few years. Her favorite activity used to be going for runs with me on a skateboard, but she can't do that anymore. Mira loves going for walks and meeting new people. She's chatty and loves to howl, especially to put on a show for new people. She isn't super cuddly but enjoys being in the same room with others. Other times, she likes to lounge about on her own. She'd be a great dog for anyone who wants a husky with a lower activity requirement. Medical: Mira has a history of resource guarding and has bitten people (me) and other dogs. It is being treated with fluoxetine/amitricycline. Mira recently was diagnosed with hip arthritis and has been taking monthly Librela injections with significant improvment.

Story
Meet Flynn, the most handsome, loving, work in progress you'll ever meet! Flynn is a 1-year-old Husky mix - possibly with Chow or another fluffy breed. Flynn is stunningly handsome and absolutely adores his people and other dogs, but because of a few "quirks," will require a patient adopter. We are unsure exactly what this boy went through in his early days, but it's obvious, it wasn't nice. While Flynn holds no grudges against humans, he is extremely timid. It takes Flynn time to warm up to anyone new. He seems much more at ease around women and children, though does warm up to men...eventually. He enjoys going to the dog park where he has become a superstar - romping and playing with the other dogs. He loves going for walks with his canine foster siblings. Flynn isn't a fan of being left alone but does find comfort in his canine foster siblings in these situations. Flynn's ideal home will have someone home for a good part of the day, at least one other confident dog to help him adjust, and a fenced yard because this fella loves the outdoors and lounging in the sun! He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives, and ready to find his forever home! This dog's adoption fee is $375. Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on information we may have been provided, and the appearance of the animal.

Story
My husband and I adopted Kahn and Serit 2 years ago in Cheyenne Wyoming. Kahn is 5. Serit is. We have recently moved to Virginia and Townhouse life is not suitable for them. They needs a place with a fenced yard for him to run and play in. Kahn loves to play fetch and will do so for hours. Would prefer them to be adapted together. However, will consider splitting them up to the right homes.

Story
We do not promote any of our dogs as house trained or allergy friendly. Looking for a hiking buddy with a husky sense of humor? Meet Yogi, a 2-year-old, 50lb whirlwind of energy who's been waiting a little too long to find his forever pack. This 34% Husky, 42% GSD, and 24% Super-mutt is equal parts adventurous explorer and lovable goofball. Here's the lowdown on this one-of-a-kind dog: * Hiker extraordinaire: Forget Netflix marathons, Yogi's idea of a good time involves conquering mountains and chasing squirrels (safely, from a distance, of course). * Shower of affection (literally): Yogi's ecstatic greetings involve either a generous dose of puppy kisses or an enthusiastic offering of his favorite toy. Be prepared for love attacks! * Structured silly goose: He thrives on routine and loves to please, but his Husky roots sometimes manifest in enthusiastic "conversations," especially if you're on the phone. Apartment living might not be his cup of tea, despite his previous foster not getting any complaints (townhouse), we don't want to push it. * Crate-tolerant, treat-motivated: While not a fan of his crate, a few tasty treats can work wonders in convincing him to settle in. * Aloofness is his charm (maybe): He might seem a bit aloof at times, but don't be fooled, this goofball loves nothing more than being around his humans. He might occasionally test boundaries, but his loyalty and intelligence make him a joy to train. * Mood reader extraordinaire: Yogi picks up on your vibes like nobody's business. Feeling nervous? He'll sense it. Feeling adventurous? He's ready to explore! Just remember, training is key, especially when meeting new people, as his excitement can get the best of him. Yogi might not be the perfect fit for everyone, but for the right family, he'll be the most loyal, loving, and adventurous companion they could ask for. Story
Sweet Juneau IS just right! This blue-eyed beauty will mesmerize you and capture your heart with one look. Juneau is a well-behaved girl, who gets along with dogs big and small. She is easy going young girl and about 1 y/o. When she came to us, she only weighed 38 lbs. A little underweight, but she is quickly getting to her ideal weight which should probably be closer to 45. Juneau had a great opportunity to be in a foster home for the weekend and she did fabulous! Her foster said she loves to play with toys and would entertain herself. She learned to sit and lay down with treats in about 10 minutes. She walks well on a leash, still learning not to chase squirrels with a quick correction she is back on course. This girl wants to please! She went to an adoption event where there were a ton of dogs that she met big and small and she was so good! She will do well in most family settings and should have no problem with kids. She's lovely, she's sweet, and she's looking for her forever family. Juneau has been spayed and is HW negative, up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300

Story
Meet MUFASA the lion king! Mufasa is a gorgeous 2.5 year old, 47 pound, red Chow Chow! This strikingly handsome guy is sweet, friendly, and lovable. This tail wagging pup loves to get pets, is becoming playful, and also settles down nicely -- Mufasa can chill comfortably when you are busy with your work. He has great house manners and would be fine in apartments/condos as well as houses; he would be great with a single person, couple, or family with older children (e.g., 8 or above). Mufasa is smart, and LOVES to go for walks. Poor Mufasa was found and turned into a Maryland vet practice and then the overcapacity Baltimore County shelter! It is clear that he had a home that taught him to sit for treats, etc., but he apparently ended up homeless for sometime and no one came to look for him! He is so happy that PetConnect has come to his rescue to find a forever family that will give him the attention that he deserves and never end up in such a scary place as a kill-shelter ever again. Mufasa would love to curl up with you to hang out on a cool spring night; he loves to get pets! He would be an excellent new member of the family! Mufasa is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives and eager to find someone to love! ***Please note that the first step is to fill out an application (It does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit). In addition, an important step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ) , spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Mufasa is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. For more information, please email Robin at kinstondogs@verizon.net **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**
