Story
Sweet girl Aurea, came to PAW as an owner surrender, by no fault of her own. She is an adorable young girl about to turn one year old, who can't wait to settle into a new home. Last year, Aurea was hit by a car and as a result, had her back leg amputated, but you wouldn't know it from the way that she navigates the world, emotionally and physically! Aurea loves to run, especially with other dogs, and she loves car rides. She loves people, snuggles, and treats. She is easy on the leash, she is hose broken and crate trained. Aurea is good with children and she has lived with cats. Her foster said that she can chew items she is not supposed to if left unattended, but she is a puppy after all, and she is still learning. Energetic, Aurea will settle when told, and she will continue to calm down as she ages. In the meantime, she is always up for an adventure, she has a very sweet disposition, and cannot wait to see what forever adventure awaits! PAW adopts in the MD, DC, northern VA, and northern PA region. ##2751047##

Story
Summer is a super chill Senior Husky. While inside the house, she loves to lay in her area or bed. She LOVES TO SLEEP. While outside she loves to look at everyone and everything. While on toad trips she just lays down in the car. She traveled from Puerto Rico to Florida, and from Florida to Maryland. She is a really amazing pet who gets along with anyone who is with/around her.

With his striking looks and happy personality, he turns heads wherever he goes… but it’s his sweet, friendly nature that really makes him unforgettable. Balto is a high-energy pup who loves to stay active and would thrive with an adopter who can match his enthusiasm for play, exercise, and adventure. He especially shines around other dogs—he gets along great with them and loves to play, making him an excellent candidate for a home with a canine companion or someone who enjoys social outings like dog parks or playdates. As you might expect from his breed mix, Balto has plenty of energy to burn and would do best in a home with a secure, fully fenced yard where he can run, explore, and stretch those legs. Balto is also quite the talker! This vocal boy isn’t shy about sharing his thoughts, whether he’s excited, curious, or just wants to join in on the conversation. Balto is heartworm positive and undergoing treatment. His future family will need to follow through with his treatment plan and ensure he gets the proper rest and care during recovery. Our team is happy to guide adopters through this process. Like many young dogs, Balto would benefit from continued training to help him become the very best version of himself. With consistency, patience, and plenty of positive reinforcement, he’s sure to shine—he’s smart, eager, and ready to learn! Most of all, Balto is simply a happy, affectionate boy who’s ready to share his life with someone special. DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Maverick is 3yo, weighs 100lbs, is neutered, is microchipped, is up to date on his rabies vaccines, but is not up to date on the others.  He knows the commands 'sit', 'lay', 'heel', and 'place'.  He is alone in the home 8-10 hours per day for 3 days per week.  He's kept in the home during the day and sleeps in his own room at night.  Also, he rides well in the vehicle.  Maverick loves attention and wants to lie on you, thinking he is only 5 lbs. Maverick's guardian explains why he has made the difficult decision to rehome him:  "Kids in sports, etc. traveling a lot for that.  Untrustworthy near kids alone."  Bite incident:  In 2023 Maverick nipped at guardian's son and daughter; the nip didn't break the skin; animal control was not involved.  Maverick's guardian adds:  "Random, jealousy possibly.  Not provoked at all.  No medical attention.  Basically nipped at them." Maverick's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Maverick has lives with children (ages 2 and 12), his guardian doesn't recommend his living with children, stating "Most of the time is find but has occasionally nipped.  My kids a little more aggressive nipping". Maverick's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Although Maverick lived with a dog, his guardian doesn't recommend his living with dogs, stating "He was find with the other dog we had when we first got him, but near another dog we had him meet he got aggressive". Maverick's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Since Maverick hasn't lived with nor otherwise been around cats, his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats. Maverick's guardian describes him as: Barks alot Likes to be touched Protective Always at your side Nervous Separation anxiety Maverick's guardian describes his ideal future home:  "Somewhere that someone can pay extra attention to him with more space to run around." Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Sasha is 6mos old, weighs 30lbs, is intact, is not up to date on her vaccines, and is not microchipped.  "I have her half-way house-broken.  She will hold it in all night and then go outside first thing at 5am to do her business.  She will show no signs of  going, though, so if you are not on top of her she will continue pee/poop as she pleases instead of a routine. She refuses to walk on a leash.  Big cuddler.  I rescued her from a former neighbor but she has turn our lives very chaotic with her possessive behaviors towards me.  Sasha dislikes/fears loud noises and thunder.  She loves car rides.  She's kept in her crate during the day and sleeps on her dog bed at night." Sasha's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:  "Sasha is a wonderful dog when things are calm or it's one on one.  She has become very possessive of me though and is starting to scare my family/other dog." Bite Incident:  On 26 April 2024, in Lothian, Sasha bit her male guardian's hand; the bite didn't break the skin, animal control was not involved, and medical attention was not required.  Sasha bit him when he attempted to pick her up to put her in the crate while the kids ate dinner. Sasha's guardian states the following regarding children:  Although Sasha lives with children, ages 4 & 7, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with children that young; she recommends Sasha living with children 10yo and older, as she's been good with children that age; she's "weary of younger, too loud for her". Sasha's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Although Sasha lives with a dog, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating "Aggressive towards my older male dog.  Constantly biting or growling at him". Sasha's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Sasha lives with cats, so her guardian recommends her living with cats, stating "Ignores them". Sasha's guardian describes her as: Very active Barks alot Playful Likes to be touched Protective Always at your side Indoor dog Nervous Crate-Trained Likes women Separation anxiety Digger Sasha's guardian describes her ideal future home:  "Sasha would do much better with a home with older kids or a couple-only family.  She is sweet and loving when it is a smaller setting.  Too many people or too much going on scares her and I think triggers her."   Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Lothian, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1.
