Story
Misha was a shelter dog at the MD SPCA. She turns 4 years this November. She is an incredibly sweet and affectionate dog. She loves going for walks and is very food/treat motivated. Otherwise she loves taking long naps and finding weird places to lay around. She has a strong prey drive towards small animals. She is incredibly strong and fast so I would recommend walking tools like easy-walk or gentle leader. She sheds a lot and needs proper and regular grooming to maintain. She is also an escape artist and will try to escape given the opportunity. Loves water and swimming. She is hovering around 62lbs and eats about 3 Cups of kibble/day. Looking for a home that has a yard or other animals for her to socialize with. Needs a fair amount of activity.

Story
Athena is a very sweet, loving, energetic and playful Siberian Husky, we got her from a flea market in North Carolina. She is one year and 4 months old. Unfortunately, about at 11 months old she started limping and having legs problem, there was a point within the lapse of about two weeks from when she started limping that she couldn't stand up by her self, after taking her to the vet a few times were doctors thought that she sprain her legs and giving her pain medications. Her vet decided to do x rays on both legs and it came out that she has inflammation in both her knees.Vet is suggesting for her to see a specialist because she needs surgery in both legs and unfortunately I can't afford any more vet bill expenses. I need to find someone that has the financial stability to provide her the care she needs, in addition, it has to be someone that will have the time to spend it with her through her recovery process.

Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Story
Meet Flynn, the most handsome, loving, work in progress you'll ever meet! Flynn is a 1-year-old Husky mix - possibly with Chow or another fluffy breed. Flynn is stunningly handsome and absolutely adores his people and other dogs, but because of a few "quirks," will require a patient adopter. We are unsure exactly what this boy went through in his early days, but it's obvious, it wasn't nice. While Flynn holds no grudges against humans, he is extremely timid. It takes Flynn time to warm up to anyone new. He seems much more at ease around women and children, though does warm up to men...eventually. He enjoys going to the dog park where he has become a superstar - romping and playing with the other dogs. He loves going for walks with his canine foster siblings. Flynn isn't a fan of being left alone but does find comfort in his canine foster siblings in these situations. Flynn's ideal home will have someone home for a good part of the day, at least one other confident dog to help him adjust, and a fenced yard because this fella loves the outdoors and lounging in the sun! He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives, and ready to find his forever home! This dog's adoption fee is $375. Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on information we may have been provided, and the appearance of the animal.

Story
Danica is a gorgeous Husky/Aussie mix girl with the wonderful blue eyes and riveting beauty that touches everyone’s soul when they meet her.  She landed in a small town Kentucky shelter that has a euthanization rate and we feared for her life.  Found at a Pizza place on a busy highway her owner was contacted and he opted not to come pick her up so off to the shelter she went.  She was fortunately pulled from the shelter and now has the most wonderful opportunity to gain the perfect  home and family that Critter Cavalry Rescue has promised to find. This is young 1-2 year old girl that weighs about 45 pounds and is a perfect medium size.  She is fabulous with people and seems to do well with other dogs.  We have not cat tested her.  She is housebroken, learning the leash so 50/50 in that category of being good.  She is smart as a whip and eager to learn and be taught things.  She is a true beauty that would make any family or person proud to call their own.  If you are interested, please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 28, 2024, 4:57 pm

Story
This gorgeous girl is so lucky to be alive! We were driving down a busy four lane highway when we spotted her run across the highway barely missing getting run down by a large box truck. She ran into the parking lot of a Dollar General so we immediately pulled into the parking lot and luckily she ran up to our van and jumped right in! We tried and tried to find her owner but to no avail. It's hard to see in the pics but she has one blue eye and one golden eye. We suspect she had a little Husky in her but we did a DNA anyway, lots and lots of breeds in her DNA, including 5% Chihuahua! She's a super mutt! Clarice is spayed, fully vaccinated, crate trained and microchipped. She is available for immediate transport PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $600

Story
We adoped Otis, our young gorgeous huskey mix whom we dearly love about a year ago when he was 6 months old. He is extremely sensitive about being touched around his neck. He has bitten several people who have inadvertently touched him in that place. We have tried different trainers, including a behavioral therapist and a boarding/training, who have helped, but who haven't been able to reach him permanently and it has not stopped his occasional reactionary bites. While Otis is often well-behaved, he may have a neurological problem that contributes to his unpredictability. My partner was recently diagnosed with cancer which has added a considerable amount of stress to our house, something that I am sure has impacted Otis as well. We have now made the heartbreaking decision to rehome Otis. ONLY experienced dog owners should apply with previous experience managing dogs like this, also should have space to run.
