Story
Hi my name is Hades Rai! I am a good boy and I am looking for an active owner willing to offer training and exercise, but in return I can offer unconditional love and years of happiness. I’m a fun-loving dog who loves to play chase, so a home with cats wouldn’t be a good fit for my exuberant personality. I do have some big feelings about some things in this world and tend to express this by reacting with barking and may be a bit too much for some families. I will need to continue my training and HSHV offers classes for dogs like me! Visit www.hshv.org for more information.

Story
MEET SKYLAR!Skylar is a 2-year-old sweetheart with a constant smile and a happy-go-lucky personality that is impossible not to love. While we suspect she may have a little Husky in her mix, she keeps the “talking” to a minimum and is overall a wonderfully well-behaved girl with a soft coat and an even softer heart. This active young pup loves spending time outdoors, especially when there’s room to run and a game of fetch involved. She walks nicely on leash overall, though she can get little bursts of excitement and pull occasionally — something that should continue to improve with regular walks and consistency.Skylar seems very interested in playing with other dogs, though we have not yet done close introductions. We do not currently know how she does with cats. Because of her younger energy and enthusiasm, we think she would do best with children ages 10 and up.One thing we do know? Skylar keeps her kennel very clean here at the rescue and has never made a mess, which is a wonderful sign for future house training success. Like many rescue dogs, she may need a little time to learn her new home’s routine and how to signal when she needs to go outside, but we think she will catch on beautifully. If you’re looking for a sweet, active companion who will happily join you for walks, playtime, and cozy evenings after a day of fun, Skylar may be your perfect match.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you would like to meet Skylar, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250, which covers part of the medical care she will receive.**Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth. Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Story
She is about 2 years old, she does not do well with other pets but is extremely loving towards people. She's very skittish and came from a bad home, we tried training and showing her we were a safe family but she does not get along with our other animal. She is highly energetic and loves to play. A fenced in yard would do wonders with this dog as she loves running! She also loves water, she loves to swim and doesnt mind bathes, her only downside is she hates nail trimming time. I just want her to go to a good home that has the right conditions for her.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Triscuit is an absolute lovebug looking for a snuggle buddy. He wants to be pet as much as possible and will make his feelings known by putting his head under your arm if you aren’t petting him. He has a somewhat limited understanding of personal space and prefers to spend his time on top of someone. He is a bit timid, but gets over it pretty quickly when he realizes there are treats and pets available. Triscuit is unfortunately heartworm positive and will need an adopter who will continue his treatment. LDDR will cover the cost, but he will need to be kept calm and on restricted activity until he gets the all clear from the vet. While he isn’t allowed to run around now, he still has a bit of energy that slows that he would love to run around and play once he is able. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. July 13, 2026, 7:25 am
