Story
Say hello to Togo! He is a gentleman and an all-around great guy looking for his forever home. Like the heroic dog he is named after, this young guy has heart. He came to us as a stray, and his affectionate nature really shined after spending some time with him. He loves treats, and going for smell-walks. He also likes to be pet, though be sure to respect his personal space and be sure that he is open to being pet before doing so. He is your classic Siberian Husky who needs plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to be happy and healthy. Do you think you are the right fit for Togo? Come say hi!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Introducing Baron, the majestic Husky/Malamute mix with a name as noble as his spirit. This regal canine has embarked on a journey seeking stability and understanding, having found himself shuffled between homes due to a lack of breed familiarity among previous owners. At 2.5 years old and already neutered, Baron stands ready to embark on a new chapter of his life with a family who comprehends the intricacies of his breed. Baron's sociable nature extends effortlessly to his furry companions, showcasing a natural affinity for canine camaraderie. While his interactions with children, cats, and small animals remain under evaluation, we are seeking a home without these until his compatibility can be further assessed. A pivotal aspect of Baron's care lies in his magnificent wooly coat, a hallmark of his breed's heritage. Prospective adopters must recognize the commitment involved, and should not be underestimated. Baron's grooming needs are not to be underestimated; they demand both time and financial investment. Regular brushing and professional grooming sessions are non-negotiable, as neglecting his coat could lead to uncomfortable matting and potential health issues down the road. In addition to his grooming requirements, Baron flourishes in environments where breed-specific quirks are not just understood but embraced. This is not a dog for the faint of heart or those seeking a "starter pet" experience. Baron's charm may be irresistible, but it is paramount that we find him a home that can cater to his every need, ensuring a harmonious match between dog and adopter. Baron's Requirements: Familiarity with the Husky/Malamute breed: Previous experience handling these breeds is essential. Regular grooming: Commitment to brushing and professional grooming sessions. Understanding of breed quirks: Knowledge of Husky/Malamute behaviors and needs. No children, cats, or small animals at this time: Until compatibility can be assessed. Serious applicants only: Those equipped with the knowledge and dedication to provide for Baron's needs. If an applicant does not meet these requirements, we will pass the adoption application to our pre-approval team for another pet in need that would be better suited.   Important Note: Baron underwent etropian surgery to address eyelid issues. This procedure corrected his eyelids, ensuring his comfort and well-being. Prospective adopters should be aware of Baron's medical history and continue to monitor his eye health as part of his ongoing care. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. May 19, 2024, 8:50 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Diego, our very handsome Lab/Chow/Akita mix and one of our happiest and most friendly dogs at the Mikey & Me Kennels in Chelsea. Diego is ~2 years old, he weighs ~60 pounds and he has a beautiful, golden coat and fluffy tail. He has a very nice temperament, walks well on leash, and he enjoys meeting and interacting with new people. Diego practically “melts” when he gets belly rubs and he’s a very loving dog. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Diego has been neutered, he’s up to date on his vaccinations, he tested negative for heart worm disease and he’s on monthly prevention for HW and fleas and ticks. Diego will need a 6 foot high fenced in yard or he would do well in a country setting with room to run.   Diego will do best as an only dog because he likes being the center of attention. He can sometimes be possessive of a new toy or a high-value treat so having some knowledge in this area would be helpful. If you think Diego would be a good fit for your family fill out an application at happydaysdogandcatrescue.org Please consider sharing Diego’s post with your friends and family to help us get him into a permanent home. This dog is a good find, and he’s going to make a family very happy .   Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.                      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 19, 2024, 9:57 am
