Story
This is Loki! He’s a 3 year old Husky-Malamute mix (Malamute is a guess based on his size). He was adopted from DACC in October of 2023 with an unknown backstory. Since then, we’ve come to know and love Loki very much. We hate to be looking for a new home for him, but we think this will be best for our family and him, too. Loki will do best in a home with older children as he still doesn’t know just how big he is! He will also need a fenced in yard, preferably one that is 6 feet or higher because he loves to explore. He is crate trained and we’ve found it best to keep him crated while we’re away so he doesn’t get into things. Lastly, it was discovered that he has a congenital kidney malformation; one kidney didn’t develop fully. We’ve been able to manage this with a low protein, low phosphorous diet and blood work every 6 months. He also drinks a ton of water and needs frequent trips outside. Overall, he is the sweetest boy you’ll ever meet and deserves the world in his next home.

He's a ride or die pup with his humans, loves doggie friends, unknown cat behavior, gentle with kids, great walking partner, lap cuddler, movie buddy, office pal....he's got your back. Kyan is an escape artist, so someone that works from home, can take him to doggie day care, or has another dog in the home to keep him company would be the best fit for this pup. Loki can be a bit sassy when he wants but also loving when he needs to be. Ps. Fun fact Loki has Heterochromia (one blue eye and the other brown)
