Story
I inquired Koda at 7 months, he will be 3 years old April 20th. He is a very energetic dog , he enjoys running, being outside, and the cold. We want him to go somewhere with a big yard, he loves going on walks and enjoys going on car rides! He is an indoor dog and kennel trained. I unfortunately can’t keep him due to having a new born. We noticed his behavior change being more jumpy and lunges towards the baby when she is playing or screaming. We have tried correcting him and haven’t had success. Unfortunately, she will be crawling soon and don’t want to risk anything.

Story
Maya is a a 1 y/o husky looking for her forever home. She is a very sweet and well behaved girl who is playful and loves attention. Those familiar with Huskies know that they can be vocal and she is a vocal girl who especially loves chatting with her husky sister. Because of this she should not go to an apartment and would do best with a fence yard. She is potty trained and does not get into things or chew things. Good with other dogs. No cats. Apply today to meet this amazing gal. If you are interested in meeting Maya, please fill out an application via our website at https://therescueproject.net/adoption-application and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Maya's adoption fee is $200 and includes age appropriate vaccines, spay, HW testing, microchip, deworm.

Story
We show our dogs by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting Quill, please first fill out our online adoption application at kcpaws.org. Quill's adoption fee will be $175. link to application: https://form.jotform.com/230296113596155 PLEASE READ BIOGRAPHY BEFORE APPLYING Meet Quill, he is a 2-4 year old Husky/Akita Mix who came to us after spending most of his life on a chain. He has loved getting to live life to the fullest since coming to our rescue and enjoys his daily walks and runs and playing fetch in the yard with staff.  Quill has warmed up well to the staff here at KC PAWS and has particularly bonded with the manager there, it is clear that once he is bonded and trust someone he is a friendly and affectionate dog. However due to his past he sometimes is weary of strangers approaching him. He is not the type of dog that would like being in large crowds or having strangers come up to pet him during walks. He will also need his potential adopter to be willing to do multiple visits with him before adoption. Quill has met a few female dogs that he has gotten along well with, however he does not like to interact with other male dogs especially if they are his size or larger. He would do best with a female dog around his size. He does need a home with no small dogs, or cats. He would not be an appropriate fit for a home with children as he does not like for people to be in his face leaning over him and children on his level would be frightening for him. Quill is a very active, high energy dog and LOVES to run. He would be an excellent match for someone looking for a running, hiking, adventure buddy. Quill is kennel trained and keeps his run at the shelter clean. He also loves to go for car rides. Quill needs an experienced dog owner who will be willing to really work on training and socializing. He is not an appropriate fit for a first time dog owner or someone who has no previous training experience.   April 30, 2024, 8:40 am

Story
This dog is a courtesy listing for one of our rescue partners Allen county animal rescue facility. They are a rural animal control shelter near Iola KS. Many dogs are brought to their facility after being found as strays, dumped, surrendered, or brought in by the city. However, because they are in such a rural town, they have a very small pool of adopters and have a hard time finding homes for the dogs in the shelter. Our promise as their rescue partner is that should someone apply through us, we will handle any transportation needed to get the dog to their forever home, we will assist with home visits, dog intros and anything needed to help get these dogs out of the shelter and into loving homes. Please fill out our online dog adoption application if you are interested in adopting this pet. Age 7 years , Weight:60 lbs, Male Fenrir is a sophisticated gentleman who loves to speak in his wolfie language to share his opinions with everyone he meets. He enjoys the company of other calm dogs, he doesn't much care for puppy shenanigans or cats for that matter. He has met and done well with young children and is all around a really great guy with a lot of love to give. He is quite dapper and has an adorable trot when he is happy  and we don't know why he's been passed over for so long. If you think you can be Fenrir's forever family, please fill out our online dog adoption application at kcpaws.org.April 30, 2024, 8:40 am
