I’m house trained, crate trained, and I walk very nicely on a leash. I haven’t spent much time around cats yet, so I’m not sure what I think of them, but with a careful introduction, who knows? I might do just fine. I adore bones, toys of every kind, and anything that lets me play, learn, or chew happily. I’m a very smart girl with a big eagerness to learn new things — training sessions are actually one of my favorite activities because I get to use my brain and make you proud. But my number one favorite thing in the whole world? Cuddling. If there’s a soft blanket, a comfy couch, or a warm lap, you can bet I’ll be right there curling up beside you. I’m a loving, intelligent puppy with so much joy to give. Meet Arden From Barely Surviving to Her First Walk This is Arden, a 9-year-old mama whos learning that life doesnt have to hurt.Just weeks ago, she was rescued after giving birth to 8 puppies. She was found in critical condition with infected wounds that required emergency surgery and days of intensive hospital care. Her babies were bottle-fed around the clock while she fought to recover.Shes met other animals in her foster home, including the cat who has appointed himself the official welcome committee for every new foster, along with 3 other dogs. Shes figured out that couches are for sleeping on (not just looking at), and is slowly realizing that gentle hands mean good things.Her healing journey isnt finished, but shes already showing us who she really is: resilient, trusting, and ready for more.If youre looking for a dog who knows what matters and wont take a single good day for granted she might be your girl. Sassy is currently at county pound but we will pull her if we can find a foster.Sassy and 8 other dogs were taken from abusive owners. Prior to being seized, Sassy lived indoors and never went outside.We have a volunteer who has gone to the shelter and has taken Sassy for walks and reports that Sassy is a wonderful dog! She is good on a leash and loves belly rubs.Sassy needs to be on a strong leash at all times. She gets spooked easily (remember, all of this is new to her) by cars, loud noises, etc.Sassy is approximately 40 pounds. She has been spayed. Sassy lived with dozens of cats prior to being seized and taken to the shelter.Apply to foster Sassy and help her learn to trust people and gain confidence at ricopetrecovery.org

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Introducing Colt! This beautiful boy is said to be a Pomsky, but he is on the larger size at almost 50 lbs. He came to DASH very shy, not really knowing what love and trust were. He is currently in our DASH Prison Program, where he is learning to socialize and just be a dog. He is working on his basic commands and is crate trained, potty trained in the prison setting and now walks well on a leash. He is coming out of his shell and likes all dogs and people. He is a little sensitive to loud noises, but is working on that with his handler. He is just a wonderful dog who needs an active person or family to continue his training and let him know he is safe and loved. He has not been kid or cat tested. Meet Kibo! Kibo came to us along with his mom and brother as strays. We aren't sure how this furry family ended up on the streets, but Kibo is ready for a fresh start! Kibo can take some time to open up with strangers, but he is hoping you'll see past his tough exterior to the silly pup we know he is. He seems to already know some basic skills like "sit", and his ideal home will continue training to set him up for success.
