Story
Lucky Age: 3 yrs | Weight: 55 lbs | Breed: Pomsky (Pomeranian/Husky Mix) Status: Neutered, Fully Vaccinated, Up-to-Date on Preventatives Lucky is a vibrant, healthy, and loyal companion who has been a cherished member of his family since he was just six weeks old. Due to worsening allergies in the home and an unavoidable change in work schedules, Lucky is looking for a foster (or forever) home where he can trade his crate for more "zoomie" time and companionship. 🌟 Personality & Temperament Lucky is the perfect blend of his breeds: independent, curious, and deeply affectionate. He is a "people dog" who has never shown aggression toward humans or other animals. Vocal & Communicative: In true Husky fashion, Lucky likes to talk! He may give a low growl when it’s time to go into his crate—not out of aggression, but as a "vocal protest" because he’d much rather stay out and play with you. Everyone’s Friend: Lucky is great with other dogs, we are unsure how he does with children and cats. Alert & Attentive: He takes his job as a doorbell notifier seriously and will bark at strangers or footsteps at the door, though household sounds like the vacuum don't phase him. A Little Storm-Shy: While he’s fine indoors during bad weather, loud environmental noises like thunderstorms or large garbage trucks can make him anxious while on walks. 🏡 Life at Home Lucky is a "good boy" when it comes to house manners. He is house-trained and is not destructive when left alone. Crate Profile: He is fully crate-trained and sleeps there comfortably at night (usually starting around 8:00 PM). He currently spends 6–8 hours in his crate during the workday, but he is looking for a home where he can have more freedom and activity. Energy Level: High! Lucky loves his fenced backyard and enjoys being active. He is manageable on a leash but is always ready for an adventure. Training: He’s a smart pup who already knows Sit, Hug, High-Five, and “Let’s go outside.” 🏥 Health & Wellness Lucky is a healthy boy with no known allergies or chronic conditions. Monthly Maintenance: He stays protected with monthly Simparica trio (flea/tick/heartworm). Veterinary Records: All records are up-to-date and available for his new caregivers. 🛌 Ideal Foster Match Lucky would thrive in a home where: Someone is home more often or has a shorter workday. There is a fenced yard for him to burn off his Pomsky energy. The family enjoys an active lifestyle and can continue his basic training. A Note from the Family: "This was not an easy decision. Our goal is simply to find a home that can give Lucky the time, exercise, and attention that fits his wonderful personality. He has been loved since day one, and we want to see him flourish."

Story
Hi everyone! I’m Azula I may not breathe blue fire like my Airbender namesake, but I do have a special power—my loving blue gaze that will absolutely melt your heart (just ask my foster mom!). I’m a 40 pound, 1-year-old Lab/Husky mix with a playful spirit and a big, affectionate heart. I love being around my people and will happily stick close by for pets, cuddles, and attention. I didn’t get nearly enough attention in the shelter after i was abandoned, so I’m soaking it all up now.  I also get along great with other dogs and enjoy having playmates! Kids? I like them too! I can get a little excited when meeting new friends and might jump up at first, so I’d do best with slightly older kiddos or a family who can help me practice polite greetings. Fetch, tug, and chase are all top-tier games in my book. But if I’m being honest… treats are everything. I love them, which makes me a fast learner! In just the first week in my foster home, I learned Sit, Crate, Shake, and Touch—and I’m excited to keep learning more. I walk nicely on a leash and settle down quietly in my crate—pretty impressive, right? I’m still working on a few things: I’m not a big fan of car rides or baths, but I handle them like a champ when needed.  I like cats a little too much, so a cat-free home would be best for me. Story
🌸 Meet Arden — From Barely Surviving to Her First Walk 🌸This is Arden, a 9-year-old mama who’s learning that life doesn’t have to hurt.Just weeks ago, she was rescued after giving birth to 8 puppies. She was found in critical condition with infected wounds that required emergency surgery and days of intensive hospital care. Her babies were bottle-fed around the clock while she fought to recover. She’s met other animals in her foster home, including the cat who has appointed himself the official welcome committee for every new foster, along with 3 other dogs. She’s figured out that couches are for sleeping on (not just looking at), and is slowly realizing that gentle hands mean good things. Her healing journey isn’t finished, but she’s already showing us who she really is: resilient, trusting, and ready for more.If you’re looking for a dog who knows what matters and won’t take a single good day for granted — she might be your girl. 💕Apply to meet Arden at ricopetrecovery.org. The adoption fee for Arden is $200. She has been spayed and is up to date on vaccines.

Story
Sassy is currently at county pound but we will pull her if we can find a foster.Sassy and 8 other dogs were taken from abusive owners.  Prior to being seized, Sassy lived indoors and never went outside. We have a volunteer who has gone to the shelter and has taken Sassy for walks and reports that Sassy is a wonderful dog!  She is good on a leash and loves belly rubs.Sassy needs to be on a strong leash at all times.  She gets spooked easily (remember, all of this is new to her) by cars, loud noises, etc.Sassy is approximately 40 pounds.  She has been spayed.  Sassy lived with dozens of cats prior to being seized and taken to the shelter.Apply to foster Sassy and help her learn to trust people and gain confidence at ricopetrecovery.org

Story
Keeba is an almost 13, Husky/Golden Retriever mix. He’s a kind, gentle soul who loves affection. You wouldn’t guess his age—he still gets bursts of energy and does "zoomies" in the yard with his sister (Missy). He’s very easygoing, does well with cats and kids, and has had limited exposure to other dogs but has a calm, beta personality when he meets them.He is incredibly sweet and bonded with Missy so we would love to see them go to the same home if possible but will consider splitting them up if we need to. They have been together pretty much their whole lives.
