Story
Koji is the Japanese name for boys that means"cultivate", "heal", and "peace".  It can also mean "to light the way".  Koji is a beautiful name given to a beautiful little soul; and while his eyes are striking, it's his spirit that truly sets him apart.  He is so joyful, playful, and happy - he loves people and other dogs and would make the perfect addition to a single or family home. We love him and know you will too.   To meet Koji, or to learn more about him, please take a moment and fill out an application.  Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative. Apply. You can complete an application at an MTP event or complete it online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above. Phone Interview or Attend a Meet the Pets (MTP) event. This is a great opportunity to meet the pet you are interested in and see if you connect. We hold these events once a month on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. We post the pets who are expected to attend on Friday evening on our Facebook page. For exact details and locations, view our event calendar. If an event is over a week away, a counselor may contact you for a phone interview. Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in again and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment. Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at MTP or an off-site location. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets. APPLY HERE: www.richardsonhumanesociety.org ##1865095##

Story
This happy little guy couldn't be any cuter! He is one of 5 littermates rescued in a rural area after likely being abandoned by a breeder.    He's just over a year old, playful and silly as one would expect! He loves other dogs, going for walks and romping around in the backyard. Because he is a husky he's extra smart, on his toes and active. Bran will be most successful in a home with an owner home more than not. On long days away, doggy daycare is recommended.   To meet Bran in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application.  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. All poisonous plants must be removed from the house & yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##1854436##

Story
Okay…this guy Stark is something else! Completely unexpected from the reports from Dallas Animal Services. Even though he is 10 years old, he’s sprightly and light. Full of energy. Loves to be outside…even in really cold weather. He smiles every time I say the words “outside” and he rings the bells to go out. You may see that he’s wearing a belly band. That’s because our other two knucklehead males have conniption fits when we bring in another and mark…so what’s good for one is good for the others. Stark has not had any accidents in the house, nor has he tried. When Stark came to us, he was heartworm positive. He has finished his heartworm treatment and is now available for adoption. He’s only 40lbs right now so we’ll be working on putting weight on. I am 100% positive he will make a great addition to any family. He’s very gentle, gets along with other dogs (still on the fence with cats), and is so very gracious. If you are interested in adopting Stark, please complete an application for adoption at our website. www.chloespetrescue.org/application Adoption fee is $175
