Story
Meet Akira (originally Pepper) We got her the same way we are letting her go. She is the goodest girl a family could ask for. She's super gentle with kids (I have 3 girls). House trained, a bit of separation anxiety but we've just about got her past that. And she will CONSTANTLY want you to per her :-) Our lives here are changing, and the time we have for her has been drastically reduced. Other health issues with my spouse have surfaced, and I don't want things to be unfair to her. She deserves better than what we can currently give her. Best bet, have a back yard. As long as she has food and water, she will literally stay out there all day if you let her. We have a strong crate that she cannot break out of because we have discovered she is a whole escape artists. She'fll come with toys, food, bowls and a bed. Thanks for checking out my sweet girl!

Story
Amos got to us after he had to go from the animal shelter to the vet clinic for an amputation. We don’t know why his front left leg was so damaged. We do know that the night of his surgery he managed to rip out all of his stitches and laid his head on the vet tech’s shoulder while getting wrapped for repair surgery the next morning. He is not quite a typical Husky as he’s very laid back. He doesn’t use his voice near as often as most Huskies although he does have a little growl in his conversational voice which isn’t nearly as off-putting as it might sound.Amos has great house manners, does fine on a leash, and would be a perfect go-everywhere boy for his family. He adores his humans and is very loving and outgoing. He is a social boy and meeting new people and animals is easy for him. He’s fine with cats and seems to ignore the livestock kids at his foster home.He is very engaged with his humans and loves to be as close when he doesn’t want to spend time watching the world go by from his perch on the porch. He will often ask to sleep outside but is willing to do what his human feels is best.Amos is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, and current with flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story
DOB 4/18/2024 Weight: 33 lbs  Penny was surrendered to a city shelter by her owner when they had too many pets to care for. Luckily after spending a couple of months there, her foster family rescued her and she's living the good life while she waits for her forever home.  Penny is very a calm and polite girl who enjoys the company of other dogs and is gentle with people. She's fully crate trained and enjoys having her own space to retreat to. Penny is still working on becoming more confident, including learning to walk well on a leash. She would do great in a family who offers her consistency and routine.  She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and heartworm negative. If you're looking for aa well-mannered and affectionate girl to join your family, please apply online. Her adoption fee is $275.  Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Age: two years Weight: 70 lbs  Meet Rookie! He's house and crate trained and does great on the leash. He's playful and loves exercise making him a great addition for an active family. Rookie is great with other dogs and older kids. He's not "bad" with cats but will playfully chase them. Rookie is well behaved and been professionally trained but is having difficulty breaking his habit of jumping on people when he gets excited. For this reason we think he would do best in a home with old kids, if any. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $275 and you can apply to meet him here: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program.
