Story
Hello, my name is Linky West! I'm around 9 years old and I weigh about 15-20 pounds. I think I'm a rat terrier mix. I'm spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, healthy, and ready to find my new home! I'm house trained and have learned to walk on a leash fairly well. I do not like crates for more than a short period of time, but that's okay because I can be left out without any worry of mischief making. When I first arrived at my foster home, I was very scared and unsure. Over time, I have settled in and come to love it here. I'm so much more happy and confident. I discovered that I love toys and cuddling. I also love treats! Now that I am more confident, I have found my voice and will let you know any time something even remotely interesting is going on in the house or the neighborhood, so I'd do best in a home that did not share walls with neighbors. I live with four other dogs right now. I prefer gentle, easy going dogs and do not care for bossy or dominant dogs. I also lived with cats in my last home. My favorite companion is my human though. Once I get to know you, I will adore you! Where you go, I go. I must insist that I sit on the couch with you and sleep in bed with you.    An odd quirk I have is that I get scared when someone tries to handle me (like a vet) or put something on my body (like a harness). If you slow down and speak sweetly, it helps me calm down a bit. My other request is a securely fenced yard. This is because I sometimes try to dart out the door and run wild, and also because I'm still working on my leash skills.  I'm really enjoying life in my foster home, but I am ready to find my new forever home!   An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. Meet Bonnie — the Brave Girl with a Big Heart Bonnie’s come so far from her rough beginnings as a stray mama. She’s healthy, happy, and finally ready to find the forever home she’s been waiting for. This gentle, loving girl adores car rides, squeaky toys, and cozy cuddle time. She enjoys walks and playdates with other dogs but prefers to be the queen bee at home—the only pup soaking up all the love. Visitors are welcome, just don’t overstay your welcome! Bonnie is house trained, crate trained, and full of heart. She can guard her favorite things like treats, toys, or even affection, so she’ll do best in a dog-savvy, structured home with older kids or adults. In return, she’ll be your most loyal, affectionate companion. Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. Story
Meet Zuni — a tiny, tender-hearted girl learning to be brave . Zuni is a 1-year-old rat terrier with the most soulful eyes and a beautifully unique coat, like she was carefully painted with love. At just 15 lbs. with her adorable docked tail, she's the perfect petite companion with a quiet presence that grows on you more each day. Zuni came from a rural shelter alongside her two sisters after being surrendered by a breeder. When she arrived, it was clear she had been severely under-socialized, and the world felt like a very big, overwhelming place. But since then, Zuni has been slowly discovering that people can be kind—and she's made incredible progress. She is still a very shy girl, and new situations can make her nervous.  Zuni needs a home with a fenced-in back yard because she is not ready for leash walks, as being in environments where she doesn't feel in control can be frightening for her and she isn't ready to be leashed. She will need a patient, understanding home that's committed to continuing her socialization at her pace, with kindness and consistency leading the way.  Despite her shyness, Zuni truly wants connection. She loves being around her people in a calm, familiar environment and finds comfort in routine. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night, adores treats, and absolutely lights up around other dogs—she would thrive in a home with a confident canine companion to help guide her and show her the world isn't so scary. Zuni may not run up to you right away, but give her time, and you'll see her begin to trust. She'll come closer, lean into gentle ear scratches, and quietly choose you. Those moments feel like tiny victories—and they add up to something really special. Zuni is looking for a home that understands that love doesn't always arrive loudly. Sometimes, it tiptoes in, soft and uncertain...until one day, it's right there beside you. If you have the patience to help a shy girl blossom, Zuni is ready to keep growing—with you . Story
A SHY & SWEET FELLOW: Approx. 7 years old / Approx. 22 lbs. Hi, I'm Alfalfa! I came to Mostly Mutts when I found myself in need of a home! Thankfully, they took me in, and I am soaking up all the love and attention from the volunteers here and I heard them say that I'm now ready to find a family of my very own. That sounds good to me, so come and meet me soon and see if I am your new furry family member!  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and though I wasn't quite ready to play, I also didn't show any aggression. I also coexisted nicely with a 9-year-old female dog about my size in a weekend foster home, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let's meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven't met kids yet at Mostly Mutts but do startle easily so if you have older calm-natured kids such as 10+, let's meet. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I'm a gentle boy who can be timid and fearful at first, especially in a new environment with lots of different people coming and going. Once you gain my trust, though, I'm a completely different boy—a loving little fellow who will happily give you kisses to let you know just how much I adore you! I'm settling in and becoming more comfortable every day, but because I can be a flight risk when I'm scared, I may try to slip through gates or fenced areas in a new environment, so please take extra care to keep me safe and secure. I believe I'd thrive in a calm, quiet home without a lot of people coming and going, where I can relax, build my confidence, and show you my wonderful personality. My weekend foster said I was "great in the car, quiet, polite and a true joy!" Give me a little time and patience, and I'll show you what a loving companion I am! / Energy level: 4-6.      • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer! I have good leash manners and accept friendly strangers without jumping. Check back soon to see what else I've learned and let's continue my training with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / I am not fond of being in a crate and I can get out of a metal one, so perhaps I won't need a crate in my new home or perhaps a bedroom could work while you are away. I did well in a crate for my weekend foster getaway so it may just depend on the setting. / My potty manners have been good on the  shelter schedule, though I have been known to mark on my way outside. This is very trainable, so just ask about that. My potty manners were good for my weekend foster break. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love giving kisses and soaking up affection from my people! Belly rubs, gentle scratches, snuggles and relaxing in laps and dog beds are some of my favorite things. I'm sure we'll discover lots more things we like doing together in our new home! / I'm not fond of being rushed and overhead movements make me nervous. Like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I'm on an over-the-counter joint supplement called Cosequin that's good for all older dogs. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.     I'm looking for a nice quiet and calm type home and family to love! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I'm located in Kennesaw, Ga.  October 2, 2026, 3:43 pm
