Story
Say hi to Delanie! She is a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. I have had her for about 8 months now and she is looking for a forever home. She is a very sweet and loving girl! This precious girl is very high energy and needs an active household to call home. 1 year old, 38 lbs, Certified Training, Very High Energy, Knows fetch and learns quickly, Big snuggler, Furniture Trained, Kennel Trained and supplies are included! Delanie is fully vaccinated and up-to-date on shots, spayed, and has a clean bill of health. I am urgently looking to rehome her due to a health condition diagnosis. Currently her only bad habit is eating random things off the ground and hopping up on people. Is anyone interested in adopting this sweet girl? Please feel free to reach out.

Story
Meet Max! He is a 1 yr old neutered male German Pinscher/Doberman Pinscher that weighs 66lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 10/14 as an owner surrender. Reason given was he had too many animals, and Max was a big pup. He has been very well cared for, clean soft fur, and may be housetrained. He is an extremely handsome boy, and always has a smile on his face. Despite being left at the shelter, he has an upbeat, happy go lucky personality. And such a silly playful side too. He found a stuffed toy and he threw it up in the air and bounced around the shelter yard. He walks well on a leash and takes treats gently. On occasion he does get excited and will try to jump, yet he can be quickly redirected with the sit command. Very smart pup! He hopes he can find a loving family with a secured yard, take him for walks and enrichment, shower him with plenty of stuffed toys and be close and cuddly with his human companions inside on his own dog bed. Tho he had no reaction to other dogs barking at him, we do ask if there is another dog in the home please ask the shelter for a dog test. Come meet this wonderful boy!!

Story
Sweet, handsome, fun-loving Blake is 2 years old and weighs 50 lbs. We think he is a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Black Mouth Cur mix. He is affectionate and loves to give kisses and cuddle with his people. He is friendly with every person he meets, but he can be a little picky about his dog friends. Blake is an excellent choice for someone wanting an only dog, but we think he would be ok in a home with smaller dogs. He loves to play fetch, and any old ball will do, but he hasn't quite mastered the part of bringing the ball back! Blake is very athletic and needs his daily exercise. He loves taking long walks. He is crate and potty trained. He won't be a good fit for apartment life. Blake will be a super loyal and loving companion. To meet Blake, please submit your application, and an adoption counselor will contact you.

Story
PLEASE READ ABOUT PAXTON We are searching for a family for Paxton who can foster him until he's ready to be adopted. Paxton will need a family who has some dog experience and who can handle a big, strong boy. He's very well-behaved and loving and snuggly. His only vice is the leash. He likely had some traumatic experience before he came to us and he's not a huge fan of having a leash on or having it taken off. He's been staying with one of our training teams, and they've made huge progress with him. He has come so far, but he'll need someone who can continue working with him. Without the leash, Paxton is a big ol' goofball. He loves belly rubs and is such a sweetheart. He enjoys playing with toys, and he's a huge fan of snacks. Paxton is a handsome boy and just wants to be your best friend. We would like to find a family who would like to foster Paxton while he finishes up his training and care. He will be able to be formally adopted once he's finished everything ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://iamdogrescue.org/adoption-application/ ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.

These pups are in Fate, Texas too!

Story
Our sweet 4-year-old girl (46 lbs) is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and absolutely loves people. She has lots of energy, enjoys running around the yard, and is happiest spending time with her humans. She’s crate trained, knows commands like sit, lay down, wait, and outside, and will come with all her toys and beds. She is aggressive toward other dogs and needs to be the only pet in the home. She does well on leash until she sees other dogs, so continued leash training will be important. A fenced yard and a calm, dog-free household are a must. Her experience with kids is unknown. We’re looking to rehome her due to a recent life change with a newborn, and want to make sure she finds a home where she can truly thrive. If you’re looking for a loyal, energetic companion who wants to be your one and only, she could be the perfect fit. Please message for more info.

Story
Meet Rupert &#194&#150 Proof That Gentle Souls Come with Wagging Tails Rupert's start in life wasn't the easiest, but you'd never know it by the way this sweet boy greets the world. Now that his stray hold has ended, Rupert is officially ready to trade in shelter life for couches, belly rubs, and a family to call his own. Rupert is an approximately 2-year-old Black Mouth Cur/Whippet mix, weighing under 50 lbs, and he's the kind of dog who wins hearts without even trying. He's friendly, expressive, and clearly a fan of human companionship. While we don't have his full backstory, we do know this: he's smart, attentive, and eager to learn what being a &#194&#147good boy&#194&#148 is all about (spoiler alert: he's already nailing it). With other dogs, Rupert does best with canine friends who can match his energy and playful style. He's social and enjoys interaction, will take polite corrections, but also has a confident personality and likes to be the leader of the pack. For that reason, a meet and greet is always recommended if you have other dogs in the home, to be sure everyone's play styles and personalities are a good fit. Think of it as a compatibility check before making things official. Rupert's adoption fee is $125, which includes his neuter, microchip, rabies vaccination, boosters to date, and a heartworm-negative test. Basically, he comes fully vetted and ready to move in&#194&#151just add love. After a rough beginning, Rupert is ready for a soft place to land, a steady routine, and a family who will promise him that this chapter is forever. Ready to make Rupert part of your story? Apply online here: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. Story
Meet Vincent &#194&#150 The One-and-Only Work of Art Looking for His Forever Home Say hello to Vincent, an approximately 11-month-old Catahoula mix with a big personality, a curious mind, and the kind of looks that stop people in their tracks. He was found near Corporate Crossing in Rockwall on 11/22/25 and, although he was microchipped, we were sadly unable to locate an owner. Now this handsome boy is officially ready to start a brand-new chapter with a family of his very own. Vincent is still very much a puppy at heart&#194&#151full of energy, enthusiasm, and that &#194&#147what's next?!&#194&#148 outlook on life. He's smart, playful, and thrives on interaction and activity. With continued training, structure, and lots of positive outlets for his energy, he's going to grow into an amazing, loyal companion. Vincent is looking to be the only dog in the home so he can soak up all the attention and focus on building a strong bond with his people. He would also do best in a home without cats, as he's unlikely to be a good match for feline roommates. Think of him as a one-pet household superstar who wants all the love (and toys) to himself. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his rabies, DAPPV, and Bordetella vaccines, and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $125, which helps cover his veterinary care and gives him the best possible start in his new life. If you're ready for a fun, energetic, one-and-only companion who will keep life exciting and your heart full, Vincent might be your perfect match.
