Story
Lucy is a rescue pup and was adopted at 6 months old and has been with us for the last five years. Lucy is a snuggle bug who likes to be in your lap 24/7, and insists on sofa privileges! She loves to run and play, but spends most of her afternoons napping. Her favorite things are sunbathing and going on walks! Lucy would love a happy, energetic home that can give her lots of space and attention, and room to run and play.

Story
Meet Max! He is a 1 yr old neutered male German Pinscher/Doberman Pinscher that weighs 66lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 10/14 as an owner surrender. Reason given was he had too many animals, and Max was a big pup. He has been very well cared for, clean soft fur, and may be housetrained. He is an extremely handsome boy, and always has a smile on his face. Despite being left at the shelter, he has an upbeat, happy go lucky personality. And such a silly playful side too. He found a stuffed toy and he threw it up in the air and bounced around the shelter yard. He walks well on a leash and takes treats gently. On occasion he does get excited and will try to jump, yet he can be quickly redirected with the sit command. Very smart pup! He hopes he can find a loving family with a secured yard, take him for walks and enrichment, shower him with plenty of stuffed toys and be close and cuddly with his human companions inside on his own dog bed. Tho he had no reaction to other dogs barking at him, we do ask if there is another dog in the home please ask the shelter for a dog test. Come meet this wonderful boy!!

Story
PLEASE READ ABOUT PAXTON We are searching for a family for Paxton who can foster him until he's ready to be adopted. Paxton will need a family who has some dog experience and who can handle a big, strong boy. He's very well-behaved and loving and snuggly. His only vice is the leash. He likely had some traumatic experience before he came to us and he's not a huge fan of having a leash on or having it taken off. He's been staying with one of our training teams, and they've made huge progress with him. He has come so far, but he'll need someone who can continue working with him. Without the leash, Paxton is a big ol' goofball. He loves belly rubs and is such a sweetheart. He enjoys playing with toys, and he's a huge fan of snacks. Paxton is a handsome boy and just wants to be your best friend. We would like to find a family who would like to foster Paxton while he finishes up his training and care. He will be able to be formally adopted once he's finished everything ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://iamdogrescue.org/adoption-application/ ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Meet Chip! Chip is a bright, happy-go-lucky pup around 2–3 years old, and he’s ready to find his forever family! This friendly boy gets along wonderfully with dogs and cats, and he has also lived with small children in a previous foster home, where he did great. Chip is a smart cookie who already knows basic commands like sit, shake, and up. He’s kennel trained, making daily routines and downtime a breeze. Playtime is his favorite — whether it’s fetch in the backyard or zooming around on sunny days, Chip could play fetch for hours! But don’t let his playful side fool you — when it’s time to relax, Chip is more than happy to be a snuggly cuddlebug. On leash, he does well and just needs a little more practice to become the perfect walking companion. If you’re looking for a sweet, adaptable, fun-loving dog who will bring joy and laughter to your home every day, Chip is your guy. One meeting is all it takes — you’ll fall in love! To meet Chip, please fill out an adoption application: https://www.pawsofloverescue.com/adoption-application Adoption donation includes: Spay/neuter Microchip Deworming DHPP vaccinations Rabies vaccination Bordetella (nasal) Any other necessary procedures prior to adoption Dallas / Fort Worth area Applications can be found online at www.pawsofloverescue.com, under the adopt tab.  We require an approved application before a meet and greet is set up.  December 22, 2025, 9:07 am

Story
Duke is a sweet protector! Really calm dog indoors as long as he doesn’t hear knocks on the door then he will bark till you answer it per usual. Will sleep on you all day if you let him. He is potty trained. Just keep your trash can out of his reach, he is a little dumpster diver. I can no longer care for him, he still has a lot of life left and would hate for him to be put down.
