Story

🐾 Meet Ruby! 🐾 Ruby is an adorable 8-week-old puppy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. This little girl is full of puppy energy and loves to play, explore, and soak up attention from her people. Ruby is great with kids and other dogs and would thrive in an active home where she can run, play, and continue learning about the world. Like most puppies her age, she’s curious, playful, and ready to be someone’s best friend. Ruby isn’t particularly fond of cats, so she would do best in a cat-free home. She is still a baby and will need a family committed to training, socialization, and lots of love as she grows. In return, Ruby promises endless puppy kisses, zoomies, and a lifetime of loyalty. 💜 If you’re looking for a fun, energetic companion to grow up with your family, Ruby might be your perfect match! Please fill out an adoption application to meet Ruby! https://form.jotform.com/leosfriendsrescue/adoption-application

Say hello to Izel, a 4-year-old, 44-pound female Thai-ridgeback mix with a truly unique twist, she sports a beautiful coat of short, soft hair, setting her apart from the traditional hairless variety of her breed. Story

Shiner is a sweet 7 year about to be 8 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback. She loves walks, being with her owners, and is loyal 100%. She loves going to dog parks and playing and running with the other dogs but will always make sure to come and find her owners. The reason for the rehoming is we have a young child and are not able to keep up with the exercise demands that Rhodesians require. She is fully house trained and even did training directly with all dogs unleashed. Her walking ability is great as she doesn’t pull on the leash at all and will walk right by your side.

Story

Meet Chuck! He's seven years old, 65 pounds and 100% lovable. Unfortunately, Chuck's family travels too much and can no longer care for him. Legacy Humane Society is helping them find a new family who can give Chuck the time and attention he deserves. Chuck is house trained and can is trusted to roam his home when alone. He loves going for walks, rides well in the car, and loves playing in water/swimming. He is perfectly fine to relax around the house but has plenty of energy for playtime as well. He would do best in a home with another dog and is great with kids. Chuck is a gentle boy who loves being with people but can get a little nervous when he's left alone for long periods of time. He's neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. Chuck's adoption fee is $200 and you can apply to meet/adopt him here: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. 🎶🩷 Adopt Reba or Dolly 🩷🎶 These sisters were dumped and helped by Good Samaritans. They seem to have been in a home at one point because they have very good house manners - potty and crate trained and LOOOVVVEEE their people. They walk great on a leash and are good car riders. Each are about 70 lbs of pure love. Dolly and Reba are 2 years old and have the best smiles and if you want a good tv buddy - they are happy to sit right next to you. In fact, as close as they can to cuddle! They are good with other dogs and kids but chase cats so probably best in a cat free home. The girls look to be hound/ridgeback mixes. Come meet these beauties. Reba and Dolly are available through Animal Advocates of North Texas and are being fostered in Southlake. They will be totally vetted. Please help us by sharing this post!

Archie

Black Mouth Cur Labrador Retriever

Male, 1 yr 3 mos

(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)

Story

Meet Archie! A spirited one-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix currently in Omaha, NE, whose essence is pure joy wrapped in a handsome tan coat, soulful eyes, and a striking black muzzle. At about 65 pounds, Archie is a big, goofy love bug who is still discovering just how much space those long legs occupy! His occasional clumsiness only adds to his charm. Once Archie trusts you, cuddling becomes a full-body experience. He may melt against you with all 65 pounds or wander between your legs for a reassuring lean, making it wonderfully clear that being close to his people is his happy place! Archie is playful, friendly, and extremely gentle with other dogs. He loves racing around a fenced yard, being chased by canine friends, chewing his bones, and proudly finding a good stick to carry during his adventures. He is submissive during dog play and happily shares his food and toys. He also appears noticeably more confident with other dogs around, so a friendly, confident canine companion could be a wonderful match for him! His compatibility with cats is currently unknown. With people, Archie has a tender, cautious side. He genuinely wants affection and connection, but he may initially keep some distance from someone new while he decides whether he feels safe. Slow movements, patience, and giving him the freedom to initiate interaction help this sensitive boy build trust. A calm, predictable home where he can build trust at his own pace would be a wonderful fit. This sweet boy has medium energy and enjoys frequent outdoor play followed by cozy evening cuddles. He is still working on potty training and would benefit from a patient pet parent who can continue helping him learn through consistency and positive reinforcement. Archie is also sensitive to loud, sudden, or unfamiliar noises and fast movements. A quieter, predictable environment where he knows what to expect will help him feel secure and continue building confidence. Archie can manage short periods alone and seems more comfortable staying in a room than a kennel. He has a strong sensitivity to the leash and is still learning to feel comfortable with leash walking. He responds well to calm, patient, non-forceful guidance and showed encouraging progress during his recent behavior assessment. Archie has done okay with car rides in the past, although he hasn’t traveled much recently. A fenced yard is required for his playtime and adventures. Archie is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He has a sensitive stomach that currently does well with Hill’s Science Diet Biome prescription food and a quality probiotic. Most of all, Archie is a soulful, affectionate companion who wants to be deeply connected to his family. His behavior assessment highlighted his resilience, sociability, and learning potential. He truly wants love and connection but needs the freedom to build trust at his own pace. With patience, consistency, and a peaceful home, Archie has wonderful potential to become a deeply devoted companion! Could Archie be the sweet, slightly clumsy best friend you’ve been waiting to meet? Contact adopt@joyfulpets.com today!
