DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs. Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions. Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard. Lance is a 5 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Hound mix that came to Humane Tomorrow from a Florida shelter during Hurricane Milton evacuations. Of course, the breed mix is just our best guess. Lance loves running zoomies around the large yard at his foster home, and he is super fast! He also loves playing with toys, wrestling with the resident dogs, and getting belly rubs! He recently attended a school function where he was friendly with everyone and every dog, including a 4 lb dog he decided to pal around with. He has a tendency to jump up when he is excited to see you, and foster mom is working with him to keep "four paws on the floor". We think he will be fine with kids over the age of 6.
