Story
Tina is a sweet, affectionate, and cuddly puppy. She is also smart. She sleeps in a "play pen" at night with her sister and doesn't cry. She goes potty outside when you tell her but still working on potty training. She gets along with our resident dog but not exposed to cats. She would make a great addition to a new family. She is smaller than some of the other liter mates. ##2777155##

Story
Hi, I'm Tony! I'm a young Rottweiler mix, and I'm a sweet, smart, and endlessly curious boy who is still growing up and figuring out the world. I love being outside, exploring a little more of my yard every day, and I'm a very serious stick collector. Every trip out I seem to come back with a bigger one than before, and my foster family is pretty sure a whole log is in my future. A few things to know about me: I'm brave and I learn fast. I already know "sit," I'm working on "go potty," and treats make me a very willing student. I've got personality. I do the Rottie rumbles, the Rottie punch, plenty of drool, and a full sploot with my back legs stretched out behind me. I play great with others. I live with my brother and some older, wiser dogs who are teaching me how to play fair and read the room, so I'd love a home with another friendly dog. I love the simple things. Pup cups, my water fountain, air conditioning after a good adventure, and eating like a gentleman, a little at a time. Here's the important part. Right now I'm a big, kind baby, but babies like me grow into strong, powerful adults. Rottweilers are one of the strongest breeds around, with one of the strongest bites of any dog, and even mixed I carry that with me. That's a responsibility, and it's why I need an owner with Rottweiler or working breed experience who can give me consistent, positive training. Raised right, I'll be a wonderful, loyal, well mannered companion, and that's good for me and for everyone I meet. What I'm looking for in a home: Someone experienced with Rottweilers or similar working breeds Commitment to consistent, positive training Daily exercise and games to keep my brain busy A yard and room to run (an apartment isn't really my style) Bonus points for another friendly dog to grow up with If that sounds like you, I'd love to meet you. Let's grow up together. Love, Tony Adoption Day: August 1st at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt.   Some pups may stick around until 11:00 AM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun! ##2777159##

Tea is a giant cuddly teddy bear! She loves to play with our resident dog, but is also happy to sprawl flat on the ground or snuggle up next to you on the couch. She is so sweet, and she will make you feel very safe. We have a busy household and a cat and she has handled everyone and everything with no issues; she loves everyone and wants them to love her. She is curious about the cat, and they are safely coexisting. She is loving my fenced-in yard, but will need some training to walk on a leash. She is doing very well with potty training and sleeps through the night in her crate. Come meet beautiful mama Tea and prepare to have your heart stolen! Story
Meet Buster! This handsome young bully boy is as sweet as they come and a naturally social pup. He was rescued from a rural county shelter, where his standout doggy social skills caught the attention of one of our amazing foster moms, who stepped up to foster him and bring him safely into rescue. Buste has been thriving in his local foster home for the past few months, living with his foster parents, Travis and Laura, and two young playful pups, and he fit right in from day one. This handsome guy is a natural with other dogs, loves to play, shares toys nicely, and is a huge fan of tug-of-war. He’s also house-trained, crate-trained, and has excellent leash skills… honestly, the total package. We checked in with his foster dad, Travis, for an update: “Buster is very adaptable. He enjoys other dogs but is also very connected to his person. He doesn’t want conflict and has a very happy-go-lucky attitude. He’s easygoing and did great adjusting to life with our bigger dog, Penny. He was a little nervous the first day, but by day two, they were cuddling together. He’s young, playful, and energetic, so he’ll do best in an active home with a dog who likes to play. He listens well, wants to please, and walks nicely on leash without pulling.” Buster has been on a few road trips with his foster family to Camp Ivan, his foster parents’ home away from home in Paw Paw, WV, and he did great. He enjoyed the trails and wide-open space to romp and explore with his pup pack, but always keeps a close eye on his humans and likes to stay nearby. His recall is excellent, and he travels well. Buster is truly a gem of a dog - affectionate, easygoing, playful, and ready to find his forever family. He will make an excellent pack companion and family dog, and is ready to start his new life….Apply today! Story
Meet Magnolia, aka Maggie. This sweet bully girl was rescued just before Thanksgiving in PG County, MD. Her rescuer, and now foster mom, Mara saw a post on her Ring app about a dog tied to a light post in a local park. Animal Control had been contacted, but no one had responded, and with the cold weather, Mara worried for the dog’s safety. She went to look for her, walking through the park multiple times until she noticed a small shape on the ground that she initially thought was a bag, but it was Maggie, curled up in a tight ball, trying to stay warm. She was thin, dehydrated, and exhausted, but friendly, allowing Mara to leash her and bring her home. Maggie has been living with Mara, her partner, their dog, and a cat for the past seven weeks. During her first week, she slept a lot and was fed small, frequent meals to help her regain strength. It was clear she had recently had puppies and was also dealing with skin infections that needed treatment. After multiple vet visits, her skin issues have nearly fully resolved, her beautiful chocolate-brown coat is filling in, and she’s gaining weight and muscle.  Today, Maggie is a completely different dog. She’s come out of her shell and now shows the healthy energy of the young dog she is. She’s learned good house manners, is both house- and crate-trained, and has adapted well to being part of a pack. Maggie does well with the resident dog but is not a good fit with cats. We also brought in a trainer to work on her leash skills, and she’s made steady, positive progress.  At first, everything was exciting and new for Maggie, but with continued exposure, she has learned to navigate new social situations. She does well meeting visitors and joins her foster parents on outings, including trips to Home Depot. She recently attended a family holiday gathering where she did great with everyone.  We checked in with her foster mom, Mara, for an update: "Magnolia is such a sweetheart and so loving. She is a naturally friendly, social pup who is always seeking love and affection. Sometimes she even thinks she’s a lap dog. She’s an active girl who’s always ready to go and do, but she’s also learned how to settle indoors and is just as happy lounging on the couch for a movie night. Adjusting from her previous living situation (unknown) to life inside a home took a little time, but she’s absolutely loving it now. Magnolia loves the comforts of home and is a total cuddle bug who wants to be right by your side. We’re currently working on basic commands like “sit” and helping her build impulse control, balanced with playtime with her stuffies and cozy crate naps. She’s shown no signs of reactivity toward people or other dogs, and no resource guarding. She does, however, have a prey drive and is very interested in squirrels and other critters.” ******** We think Maggie would thrive in an active home and would love a canine companion of similar size and energy to play with. She’ll do best with an owner who has large-dog experience and is committed to providing structure and continuing her training so she can keep progressing. Maggie is an incredibly sweet girl who will make a loyal, loving companion. Apply today!
