Story
Te-ah is a giant cuddly teddy bear! She loves to play with our resident dog, but is also happy to sprawl flat on the ground or snuggle up next to you on the couch. She is so sweet, and she will make you feel very safe. We have a busy household and a cat and she has handled everyone and everything with no issues; she loves everyone and wants them to love her. She is curious about the cat, and they are safely coexisting. She is loving my fenced-in yard, but will need some training to walk on a leash. She is doing very well with potty training and sleeps through the night in her crate. Come meet beautiful mama Te-ah and prepare to have your heart stolen! Adoption Day: September 5th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may stick around until 11:00 AM for the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun! ##2743790##

Story
https://foha.org/pet/mason/ Hi there! I'm Mason! I certainly am an adorable Rottie mix who loves and plays hard. I am a pro when it comes to games of fetch. I'll perform all sorts of acrobats, even jumping in the air and twisting in every direction to catch a ball! I'm even learning to bring the balls back! I love car (or truck) rides. And I never met a trail that I did not want to explore. I meet everyone at my kennel with either a toy in my mouth or my food bowl. I am so happy to show them off to everyone. I have a full body wiggle when my favorite people are coming to get me out for a walk. I like other dogs with proper introductions. When I find a dog I like, I'll run & play until we're both dizzy with exhaustion. I'm a true "ladies man and would thrive in a home with another delightful female companion. I can be a bit shy at first, but then turn on that southern charm. I need an experienced owner and I need to be introduced to strangers slowly. But once I trust, I will enjoy cuddling in your lap. If you are willing and able to put the time into training me I will be sure to do my best to learn. Like most Rotties, I form strong bonds with those I love. I'm what they call a "diamond-in-the-ruff who will make a great life-long companion. I have been waiting a long time for my forever home. Loving, loyal, full of life. Come meet me!

Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet girl ISO fresh start and love! HARPER NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Harper and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (08/02) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria (3351 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22305)!     Name:   Harper          Best Guess for Breed:   Rottweiler mix   Best Guess for Age:   7 years as of April 2026         SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:   55 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Harper is Looking For:    Harper is ready to start her next chapter. With her soulful eyes and gentle presence, she has a quiet charm that draws you in and makes you want to learn more about her.  Harper is at that wonderful stage in life where she’s past the puppy chaos but still has plenty of love and companionship to give. Whether it’s joining you for a walk, lounging nearby, or simply being your steady sidekick, Harper is ready to find a place to call her own. What My Foster Says About Me:    She's a small Rottweiler with all the confidence of a big one, and her favorite things in the world are squeaky toys, belly rubs, and lying on her side on the couch next to her people. She is endlessly, cheerfully social. She's great with new people and will ask just about anyone for a belly rub — she once spent an afternoon at a pickleball court, lying quietly on the sideline watching the game and then making the rounds of every player for pets. She's met kids from toddlers to twelve-year-olds and is happy to be petted and fussed over by them. She gets along well with other dogs, shares her food, water, and bed, and will even groom her friends. She loves the dog park, where she's eager to greet everyone before making her rounds to sniff and explore. She's had gentle, positive encounters with a neighborhood cat, too. Harper is easy in all the everyday ways. She has lovely leash manners and rarely pulls, though she'll perk up for another dog, a deer, or a rabbit. She barks very little — not at the front door, not at the garage, mostly just to get your attention. She naps wherever her human is, whether that's the couch, the floor, or under the desk. She's up around 6am but will wait patiently for you to be ready for the day, and she puts herself to bed on her own around 10pm. She goes into her crate willingly and has stayed in it overnight and through workdays without complaint. She gets genuinely excited about car rides and settles right in. She tolerates the shower well and loves the towel-dry afterward. And when she wants a little quiet time, she'll take herself off to a corner for a nap — she's good at telling you what she needs. At the table, she's a fan of cheddar cheese, hot dogs, boiled chicken, steak, and small Milk-Bones. She's missing a few teeth, so she eats a smaller kibble size, and she takes a daily medication for some stiffness in her back legs that keeps her comfortable and moving well. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
Current Location: Westminster, MD Hello! My name is Baby Girl! I'm coming to OPH on 3/13. Please check back soon for updates on my personality, and to see adorable new photos. I’m looking for my forever family! Is that with you? If so please click “apply for adoption” or submit an application through the Adopt tab. Let’s get our family started! This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Read about heartworm disease here: Read more about heartworm disease at https://www.heartwormsociety.org/pet-owner-resources/heartworm-basics

Story
At just over 4 months old, Lucky is a boxer mix with an explorative spirit hiding under the calm demeanor of an older puppy. At home, he is polite and respectful of his surroundings, only ever playing with his toys in his designated play area. Outside, he is intensely curious about the world but can be quite cautious when meeting new faces because he was the runt of the litter. His favorite things in life right now are chewing on bones and spending time outside in the sun.   Lucky is doing great with housetraining and consistently runs to the door when he needs to go. He is comfortable spending time in his crate during the day while his foster family is working and quietly sleeps the day away waiting for the evening when people are available to play. He is currently working on learning "sit" and "paw". Lucky is great with baths and handles nail trimmings like a champ.    Lucky would thrive best in a household with a yard or with outdoorsy people as his dream is to be an entomologist and study bugs. Once introduced, Lucky is good with both cats and dogs in the house. As long as the other dog isn't too rough, he will invite them to play. Lucky gives cats a wide berth and waits patiently if they are in his way. He is good around children and would be a great family dog, however he may pick a favorite person.  Adoption fee includes: first 2 DAPP, bordetella, deworming, flea preventatives, heartworm test, microchip Adoption fee: $525.00   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Story
I’m an 8-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback/Boxer mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for my people. My life was turned upside down when my old family left me at a high-intake shelter, but my foster mom helped me heal, feel safe again, and remember what it’s like to be loved. Now I’m ready to find a forever family who won’t ever give up on me. I’m a polite girl with great house manners — I only chew on my toys (never shoes!), and I absolutely love squeaky toys and cozy donut beds. I’m also a champion sleeper and perfectly happy to snooze in with you on quiet mornings. Walks are one of my favorite things! Long, sniffy walks make me so happy, and I’m a wonderful adventure buddy. Sometimes I get a little reactive when I see other dogs on leash, but I’m learning every day. With some patience and positive training, I might even enjoy living with another dog after slow introductions. I adore people and I can’t wait to become someone’s loyal best friend. I’m healthy, spayed, and so excited to start my next chapter. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal, toy-collecting snugglebug who’s ready to be your whole world… I think we should meet. Love, Hunie.
